Yes, Amars is the only one that said they were going to be released on te same date... ...well, he actually said something about some birds an reunions.
That has perhaps nothing to do with release date, but the integration between the two games.

Actually this is the quote from Amars post i was reffering to. We already know the PSP release date.

''First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time.''

Was that referring to the PSP or PS3 version? Either way, sounds like a simultaneous worldwide release to me..

Exactly my point. And we already know October 10th to be GT mobile release date.
Also considering the interactivity between the two, it would make sense aswell.

Does "thirty nights before twelve months pass" really mean October 10th though?

EDIT: According to Wikipedia GT Mobile will be released on October 1st in Europe and North America and October 8th in Japan.

EDIT: According to IGN as well...

Hell knows, but i was more interested in this part
''all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time''
Assuming this means the world of gran turismo.

Well then that at least eliminates the ''whole world reunite same time'' applying to GT PSP releasing all over the world at the same time.
So this even further backs my theory that this message is applying to the world of GT. And since it is talking about 2 things reuniting at the same time , it seems these can only be GT5 and GT mobile.

Yeah, it is intresting indeed. I'm still sceptic though.

Where does it say two things? What if it's the PSP Go, GT Mobile, PS3 Slim and GT5? :sly:

The PSP Go is released on October 1st in Europe and North America while it's November 1st in Japan though... :ouch:

I updated my list of why I feel that GT5 will release this year:

  • The list of Holiday titles Sony has lined up is seriously underwhelming - Uncharted 2 and a new Ratchet & Clank game. Add Gran Turismo 5 to the list and Sony will own the holiday gaming market this year
  • Jordan of our very own GTPlanet has some insider news about GT5 coming to us this year, stating "We are going to like GT5's release date". He knows his stuff and I disagree that we are going to like the release date - we are going to LOVE it. ;)
  • Sony has moved all their other big releases to next year
  • Someone at 1up.com has inside knowledge about a huge Sony exclusive game that is releasing this year - contrary to what many didn't expect. The hints given imply a racing game - and Mod Nation Racers is the only other racing game exclusive to Sony - and that has been confirmed for next year
  • There are tons of gaming sites and insiders claiming that it will release this year and around Nov-Dec time frame
  • Sony has a 3-hour press conference tomorrow at the GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. 3-hours is way too long to only reveal/discuss the few games they have announced will be shown - there are bound to be surprises. ;)
  • Kazunori Yamauchi has stated several times that the game is ready to release at any time - but there are always tweaks and little adjustments that could be made to further perfect the game
  • The release window of this Holiday season is perfect - regardless of the PS3 Slim coming out or not. Sony gets it's biggest title out this year and in direct competition with Microsoft's racer, Forza 3
  • The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel is confirmed to hit stores in September - just 2 months prior to the suspected release of Gran Turismo 5. Isn't that what always happens? ;)

I find this thread mildly amusing because….

With all this talk of a possible 09 release, i feel that if it does not happen i will very dissapointed.

Tomorrow is the infamous Gamescom presentation from Sony and if nothing is said about gt5 i'm sure that it will not release in 09 after all.

Great points. 100% GT5 will be out this year, as well no more wait for US versions and Euro versions to wait a MONTH .. I bet within a WEEK Japan, US, and Euro will get the release.

I'm trying to keep myself from getting too excited so I won't get really disappointed before I head back to College this Friday.

It will be there - and if they don't announce the release date at GamesCom - they undoubtedly will at the Tokyo Game Show next month.

This is a VERY exciting time to be a Gran Turismo fan! :sly:👍
