Running OpenSuSe. Not touched Windows in years. Got Ubuntu on the other laptop

I usually change my desktop wallpaper with a new F1 picture after each F1 race. Since the Pirelli tests I've forgotten to go looking for anything else.

The wallpaper on my laptop is an Alfa 8C but I don't have access to that at the moment.

Noctophobia....57 degrees for your graphics card? Kinda high if you're not doing anything at that time isn't it?

Depends on the graphics card and manufacturer. My XFX ATI HD 4890 idles at about 60ºC (140ºF) and go as high as 87ºC (188.6ºF) under full load

It actually reached about 100ºC (212ºF) once when the fan failed. Luckily I noticed it happened and turned the PC off. Also, in the manual it says only when it reaches about 110ºC (230ºF) you should be worried about the temperature

Note that some graphics cards will fry at 80ºC so it really depends on which graphics card you have.

When you use 2monitor the gfx stays at 433mhz instead 233mhz of normal 2D gpu frequency.
That screenshot was shot right after a session of playing a game.
Usually while I'm working and not playing games it stays at around 38/40°, but when playing I'm overclocking it to 950/1350 and it goes to 65° which is 3D profile.

Those are great temperatures.

It isnt, Im usually never at the desktop and enjoy the surprise every time I boot up to see which has loaded first.

I have triple 22 inch monitors, so everything is left in windows now, and thus I always see part of the desktop. If you don't see it just seems like a pointless use of system resources, regardless.

I wouldn't mind having three monitors. More things to do at once!

My desktop at work. It's a shot of a maintenance crewman working on an HH-60. Taken inside the hangar at Coast Guard Airsta Kodiak circa 2007.

<Spindles, platters, sliders, and a partridge in a pear tree>

Figured I'd share. Nothing fancy going on here really.

Great. Now I'm going to search the webz for the innards of a Raptor.

Thanks a lot, Cody. :P

And as for me....

Haven't really messed around with it yet (just installed in minutes ago) so there's customization to be had. I love it thus far.
