I was really anticipated to see your clean laptop screen until I saw that Trashcan and I said to myself.. ''What the hell is it doing there alone?''.

I haven't figured out how to remove it and keep the functionality yet. I've come from using MacOS for 6-7 years to using Windows 7 so if there's an easy way of doing it, can someone let me know please? I did try hiding the icon and then right clicking and selecting 'Show Icons' whenever I needed to use it but that's just annoying.

You could always use rocket dock and move the trashcan there. Rocket dock's an app sort of emulates the Mac OS dock, so it's not exactly a 'direct fix', but it gets the job done.

There's no way to delete the icon from the desktop but you have already did the correct thing which is to hide all the icons. If you're annoyed by having to show the icons back when you want to use it, try my method.

Click the start button, on the top right, click on your username. It will take you to your library. Assuming that your W7 is still default, there's a sidebar on the left that shows your Favourites, Libraries, Homegroup and all. Under the Favourites, cick on Desktop and you can access your trashcan from there. A lot more work, but I don't have to hide and show the icons back.

Another one is just like what Guml8ball explained. I'm also new to W7 from Vista but I noticed some stuff are way different to Vista. I'm still learning my way around.

About...an hour to chose and recolor those skins.
