Lewis Hamilton Time Trial DLC Coming to GT Sport, With Exclusive Rewards

Imagine the twist if they added a hardcore time trial over more than 1 lap...
"beat Hamiltons 25 laps around spa in the Mercedes GR3, no ABS/TCS/CSM and real tire wear.. "

Beating Hamilton with all the time in the world vs his limited time doing this lap naturally plays into our hands, but beating him over 25 laps would be different. His experience and talent would be out in full force over each lap, while most here would be on the limit just doing one fast lap.

Meant to include the word paid in that post. Oh well discussion already happened

No MTX isn't the same as no paid DLC though. They never said there wouldn't be paid DLC. When GTSport released no one here even knew we would be getting free DLC, let alone almost monthly DLC cars and tracks. Majority of the forums was surprised we were still getting free DLC even after the initial unveil of the DLC contents announced through March 2018.

Great. Have your opinion. I'm not doing this again, there's 15 pages here already...

It's not much of an opinion rather than just straight facts about what occurred, and what the difference is between "paid DLC required to access content" vs. "optional MTX for free content"... The mental gymnastics some people try to pull to make it seem like Polyphony are lying more than just the pre-launch "no MTX" comment is absurd and hilarious. As much as some people might be right in criticizing Polyphony for certain things, it seems they also just can't give Polyphony any credit.

Look at those lying money grubbers at Polyphony with this paid Lewis Hamilton time trial, meanwhile they released and are still releasing all of this premium meaty content for free that has much more worth and value to the game, and undoubtedly cost much more to produce.

Well, soon we will know...
Sorry, the way I wrote it, it might come off as me doing 1:54.3s. What I mean that if you look at kudosprime event times for maggiore gp gr3, lewis' time would fall outside the top 100 IIRC. Top times are in the :54.3 area.

A very strange DLC IMO. Who wants to pay for Time Trials? Increase in a credit limit, that’s a really strange one, tbh who cares? Not like it’s difficult to select a 20m credit car if you’ve got everything else. I have always thought that the 20m credit was a bit of strange one and didn’t need to be there in the first place, I don't get what the point of it is really.

This whole DLC is just not attractive enough to want to pay for. It would be good to see if we can beat Hamilton’s times but having to pay for that chance is a big NO for me, even if it is cheap.

It’s only $7.99 USD. Just skip that Starbucks coffee in the morning.

...that doesn't exactly take away from the fact that it's a paid time trial showcase, and that one of the rewards for participating is something that 99% of developers would have added in a patch because it isn't the type of thing that should be won in a paid DLC?

Those other developers may have added it as a free patch... but charge you for cars, tracks or subscription...

And? What difference does it make if the developer (or rather, the publisher, considering that's where most of these things come from) charges for post launch content? Why is it that Polyphony gets a pass for offering something that 99% of developers would have added in a patch, in a paid DLC? Especially when one considers just how utterly ass the game's economy is, with said raising of the credit ceiling being somewhat of a help, especially with the fact that the amount of 20,000,000 cars has risen to the point where it's an issue?

The amount of hoops that I've seen to defend Polyphony's frankly asinine reasoning for unpopular moves, from adding micro-transactions to the game when they said they wouldn't, to making something that should be in a patch as a reward in a piece of paid time trial showcases, is getting to be way too much. But then again, this forum has always put Polyphony on a pedestal, typical considering the name of the forum. But it's gotten excessive nowadays.

Project Cars 2 has numerous time trials and it also includes Ben Collins and Hamiltons brother all free of charge.

This hamilton thing is a glorified time trial nothing more that could have gone with a few weeks or one month.

Everybody has been begging for the credit limit of 20 million to be increased now it has only through a dlc is a dog move.

If somebody hacks the game and changes the cap no doubt that person would get banned for it LOL.

But apparently it's all good, you just need to stop spending money on other frivolous things, completely forgetting that the optics of putting in something that absolutely should be in a patch (And something that has directly contributed to the game's ass economy, especially when it comes time for people to do Nostalgia 1979 races, alongside the epidemic of grinding for money in a game not even ostensibly about single player racing) is what people are actually trying to point out.
