Didn't the original concept have coolers and fans back there?
Like I said, maybe something else. 💡Why would it NACA ducts to cool the brakes when there are already brake ducts besides the door?
No need for coolers for beer?! The Japanese think of everything.A second engine! Like Evil Weevil!
Or, maybe Lexus is introducing the world's first cooled golf bag storage system!
I have yet another idea.. it's a new trend to make a transaxle.. transmission in the back with the axle. GT-R has it, AMG SLS has it.. and as oilbathed DCT trannies, they do generate a lot of heat. so maybe most of those vents back there are to keep the transmission and differential fluids cool even under hard driving? 💡
A second engine! Like Evil Weevil! 5/6ths of a 2JZ-GE * 2!

Or maybe they have a hybrid system back there or something. It looks like there's plenty of room back there for something.
But still, the area devoted to ducting back there would make most MR supercars feel inadequate. It's probably pushing into Bugatti territory...
Thats real competition to the GT-R and nice to see a new Japanese car in that class.
I'll add to this:560 HP from 4.8L would have been more impressive had they gotten it shoved out the door before Ferrari announced the 458 Italia.
That does bring up something interesting. This was a car announced and was originally thought to be targeting Ferrari 575s, Aston Martin Vanquishes and Mercedes SL55s.YSSMANWell, lets add insult to injury: During the entire development of the car, which dates back to mid-2004, the world has essentially come and gone in terms of automotive progress. There are a lot of outstanding production vehicles that stand in the way of this one, which by comparison, we know very little about.
