Finally got round to running another session on this one and chipped a bit of time off - 1'29.207 (45th).

I won't be catching you on this one, @ODB

Nice improvenent anyway

Looking at the leader boards there's only 31 guys under 1.29 witch really makes me wonder how in the hell I did my current record in the first place :boggled: But on the other hand I did at least 6 quite long sessions for that result, meaning it really didn't come without massive effort so hopefully I stay high on the ranks untill this is over :dopey:

Your time is really good.

I can stay with your ghost line until the exit from the chicane (as can @IBZ6L20VT)... but you're really quick through the final 3 turns.

Thanks

I can't even believe this but just did 1.28.723 for place 10 :D I mean what the hell, every time I go back to track I manage to improve, just freaking unbelievable to be honest  Go quickly see my lap, I bet this was one of my best laps so far in these time trials, I would still liked it to be bit better in few places but I think I keep my mouth shut

Yep, I struggled with that final turns... The racing line is so diffuse that I couldn't find the right pace there.

I can say that my posted time was my best possible.

Congrats mate! Great achievement! And I know that is fairly deserved. There is a lot of work behind it.

Thanks mate  I wish I have kept some diary about my mileage, but I think it has to be coming closer to 3000 km already :dopey: and to be honest I'm not even getting bored at this event yet, my intention today was purely out of interest to see how close I get to my own time, and managed to beat it with over a tenth :boggled: I mean it's damn luck I had some interest on this event still, clearly I had some time in the bank :dopey:

After the chicane there's plenty of driving to do that is very true, I have managed to form some sort of "road map" trough there so I can drive trough there with some probability... Still can't claim it would be somehow easy, but it has gotten at least bit easier as I have driven trough there for quite many times now :D

Awesome time

My initial love of this combo cooled a bit - the hybrid thing and having to re-start EVERY lap is slightly irritating.

Lovely car to drive though.

Lovely car to drive though.

Heh thanks  this combo makes my adrenaline flow quite easily and the car has such grip and power that this TT just keeps luring me back :D I think I really have to give this few more goes just to see if I can keep myself interested still, this TT really feels like I leave a freaking tenth at some place every time I improve, but the reality is just not quite as simple as it would first appear, especially not on this track in this car (or in any car on this track TBH  )

This, and the lack of ability to "draw a map" through that final part made me felt bored of it also.

But above all, what you described. Half the lap pushing a button and having to re-start every single lap made me felt bored sooner than I had expected initially.

Heh, using KERS only adds the interest for me, bit more something to do while driving and trying to be on the KERS early on the exits is rather fun actually. Restarting is really frustrating I have to agree that much, but somehow it seems like more I have done this TT, better I have adapted to tolerate that rather brain eating main straight. Naah, tomorrow I probably be as bored as you guys with this one, this days improvement was already a total surprise for me so it's gonna take some real motivation trying to improve further more.

And having some sort of map in your head for the end part is really important, I was looking at my replay and it seems like I start turning in to almost to nothing, but the apex comes out behind the crest quite nicely if you just manage to approach it from the right angle and then you get to smash the throttle on the exit. Quite counter intuitive those turns at the end as I think they are intended to be in the first place, or maybe the track designer just has been on an acid trip while coming up with that section :boggled::crazy::yuck::embarrassed::rolleyes::embarrassed::mischievous::nervous::odd::boggled::odd::odd::drool::drool::embarrassed: <-- that's how it feels to drive trough there

Thanks for the inspiration to try and go faster, been banging my head against a wall for the last few attempts but finally my personal goal has been achieved with a 1:29.957 :)

Management of the stored energy does add a layer of interest, still not really figured out when to take my finger off the button, or where it's use really makes an impact for my level of driving. Watched back a few replays from the top ten and you only get a rough idea of when it's being used.

However it does get tiresome after a while, both on my thumb and the enjoyment of the lap :(

I don't seem to be able to recharge they system as much though, this is a tricky thing to judge I suppose, maybe I need to be more decisive with the throttle and not feather it so much...

It is the most enjoyable VGT so far for me, I said that about the Mini, but this one has blown that right out of the water :)

This and the alpine VGTs do feel pretty awful on the DS3. But I bet they drive pretty great on the wheel. That's probably why people are complaining about the handling.

I use a DS3 and have no complaints with the handling. I am kind of a nerd and try to get to know the car before i render a judgement on it.

Thanks mate  If you have time watch my replay (hopefully it's still there ) from the end of the lap you might see why I enjoy this TT so much, grip of the rear tires is literally unbelievable :D
Just watched your replay. All I have to say is holy 🤬. Your a beast! hope I can crack into the 1:28s. Stuck at 1:29.298

1:29.219 good for 51st

Hahaha, thanks man  I really let it all out there at the end and it resulted in such driving that I have to admit that I watched my replay like 20 times thinking how in the hell I manage to keep the car on the track driving like a complete maniac :D but that's just the reason I like this TT so much, car just allows you to drive like a complete mad man, just push the pedal to the metal and try to hang on and keep the nose pointing in the right direction :D

Great job with your current record and good luck for further improvements, it's very very very unlikely that I'd improve any more, but I'm gonna have to try this event at least one more time, it's just too much fun throwing that beast of a car around that track :D

Really hoping you hold onto that top 10 @ODB !! Long time coming and very well deserved!
Thanks mate!!! I really do hope it also, but I know there's more than plenty of very talented guys after those top 10 spots so I can't feel too confident about my lap sticking there until the end, especially when there's two weeks to go :scared: But IF I keep that position to the end it's very true it's not coming for free, I just took a look and my mileage is now over 100.500km in GT6 :D Most of that really is only from grinding TT's so at least I can say I have done everything that I can to maybe claim one those spots up there :dopey: Hehehe, but interesting to see how it's gonna go, keep those fingers crossed for me, I know I will :D

EDIT: made 28.621 3rd time for 10th place :boggled:  bit annoyed for taking that last corner way too wide, but at least the whole top 10 is now within 6 tenths :D well not anymore, very nice improvement from @IMMORTALPILOT 👍

I did a 1:32.2 using a DS3 and I'm only hearing about KERS now?

EDIT: Had a go with KERS and improved by 0.7, putting me on 1:31.5. I lost way too much time in the final sector though, the cars LOVES to oversteer! I could definitely pull another 1.2-1.5 seconds out of that, with the right line, of course. 👍

Can't, I use them both for Gear Changing. I use the Right analogue stick for acceleration.
If you use joystick for throttle, then you can use the R2, I do.
i just metioned L1 and R1, because some people use L2 and R2 for brake and throttle
Or just assign it just for this race to a button, you normally use for something else, but isn't that important.
you could also use the button under the joystick, full throttle forward and press it down.

Set a stunning time
32m22s152
I think I lost a few tenths (Of an hour) coming out of the final turn...
Next best guy has a time of 29m19.734. (Hakku_Kuru)

----

Another Japanese guy (Who drives with ABS=1 - pah!) posted a time that was over an hour.
If I hadn't just eaten my hat I would certainly tip it for this 日本のカタツムリ

Just thought I'd stop by and say "congrats" to an old friend on your outstanding time here. Great to see your hard work is paying off for you....really happy for you and I'm pulling for you here to have a great finish. Its been an inspiration to watch you move up through the ranks in these events. Keep at it my friend and don't stop till you get to the top.

Heh thanks mate much appreciated

Great to see your hard work is paying off for you....

Heh, well every time I manage to beat my own time it feels like I have surpassed myself, and that alone has been really rewarding trough out the whole time I have tried to push for those leader boards  this car just seemed to have the right combination for me to really use all my skill to push that car around the track on it's limits :scared: almost terrifying and really exciting, just the things to keep my interest up :mischievous:

Its been an inspiration to watch you move up through the ranks in these events.

Heh, well I got the spark from you when I found GT planet something like year and a half a go, so really nice to hear if I'm able to bring back some of that motivation and inspiration I have had from you and all the others members on this forum, without seeing you guys push your limits on those TT threads I would have never gotten so deeply in to this TT grind, so without guys like you and place called GT planet I would have never realized how fast I might be able to go, hanging in these threads have also kept me going on further and further, and now seeing myself hang in the top 10 is almost unbelievable, if you'd ask me a year a go will I get so close up there I would have had to say that it's never going to happen. but little by little I'm gaining confidence and picking up some skills, so sooner or later I should get that top 10 finish, only a matter of right kind of track car combination at the moment I think...

Keep at it my friend and don't stop till you get to the top.

Heh, ok so now for the bad news, bit embarrassed to admit but I had a little accident on friday and managed to fracture my right foots metatarsus behind my little toe... Really not a big deal at all, but for now I can't use my foot to it's full potential because sudden moves aren't that inviting to do when you have a fracture in your bone, and this event really needs the throttle foot to be swift and aggressive, so really seems like my time is not getting any better at this event... Bit disappointing for I was fully prepared to continue on this event now after Eastern is over and with another 1000 km I could have had my chances of improving I know it, I mean I'm not saying I would have done the improvement simply by doing more laps, but now I simply don't even have a realistic change to try, so there's a bit of disappointment in the air, but my own fault and really not a big deal so nothing too serious, at most it takes me a month to fully recover, and then I'll simply be more hungry than before for being on a forced brake, so if I just look the bright side it's ok so nothing to worry guys :P 👍 Thanks for encouragement mate  I have understood that you have had some issues with your health recently and I want to wish you all the best to recover as well as it's just possible, have strength mate, I can imagine it takes a lot to push trough :guilty:

:gtpflag:

EDIT: Ok, despite still having some pain in my foot I decided to go back to Fuji and see if I can still improve, first made 28.590 and then 28.560 :dopey: 9th place not bad at all :D

EDIT: Wuhuu, 28.473 for 7th place :P now my foot is in such pain I must stop and I don't have no idea how in the hell I could improve any further anyway, so if I want to stick in the top 10 that must do it, no we'll just wait and see :D

I MADE MY FIRST TOP TEN WUHUUUUUUUUU!!!!!1  :boggled:  :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :P :P:tup:👍👍:embarrassed::embarrassed: :dopey::drool::dopey::drool: OMG it took me over a year of grinding and over 100.000 km but I freaking finally did it :mischievous: I did 400 km stint yesterday and my foot is still quite swollen and hurts like hell but who cares, I improved my time 3 times and feels so epic I've been listening Survivors whole morning
