Like the wind at indy...try this ZR1 RM tune

Guys i don't get why you're using down force on the rear wing? I have my front set to full downforce and the rear as little as possible, think its 30. If you have more downforce on the rear it increases understeer which you don't want on the indy course.

I've just run with lowered suspension settings and front wing to the max and rear as little as you can. The car is pinned down at the front and turns in no problems at all. Mid to low 41s with ease, try it:)

I don't know how these people are saying they have more than 905 horsepower in their ZR1's. A fully modded, broken-in car has 905, at least in the US version of the game.

I also agree with the train of thought on the comment above. Seems to me downforce on the wing would create understeer?

with these wheel alignment settings, it would be impossible to control the car with a rear downforce of 30.

Just so you don't get me wrong, I didn't mean that you took my tune and claimed it to be yours. This forum is about charing info. Its really cool to see how arrived to similar numbers by your extensive testing.

Knowing that you tuned specifically for Indy, I can see how your tune improves when you have masses of downforce at high speed. When you take your tune on a track, is it easier to drive than mine. I thought the opposite, but I might very well be wrong

i took both tunes for a test run at fuji. with my tune it seemed like the oversteer during acceleration was maybe a little bit less pronounced. turn in seemed to be a bit different as well.

hey mrs jaws bye the sport manifold and catalytic,i went to 918hp whit it and did a 41.884 lap time at indy(jordays tune)

interesting. i have built 2 of them and both were right on 905 hp. i wonder what is the cause of this.

"mrs jaws"?

And I have those. I have everything possible for the car, and everything installed.

905 is the max horsepower for this car. This is confirmed by everyone else I have ever talked to. I'm not going to call you a straight-up liar, but...I'd like to see some screen shots.

I think the secret is to do the Oil Change before doing the RM. My ZR1 will not go above 900, even after many miles of breakin.

Great tune though, thanks!

A lot of the time the engine needs a "break in time" if you look at RKM and some of the other tuning shops out there, they will put the mileage that you need to be at to be able to get the most bhp outta of your car. Mines at 905 bhp.

look jawsv8 i rebuilt the engine and then bought the parts and it shows me 918hp i'me not a liar,i.ve done 1177 miles with the zr1

ok here is the proof of my zr1 at 918hp

you should be able to stay on the throttle the entire race with this. Try it. I cmopleted 5 laps in 3:36 with this.

Results?

Nice tune 👍

Just run the Laguna 200 mile enduro in it... like anything, it has bags of grip on race softs, but more importantly, it still handles nicely as the tyres go off after 10-12 laps or so. It does wear the rears slightly quicker (as you'd expect a powerful RWD car to), so you do need to be a bit careful with the loud pedal as the tyres wear.

Looks like -ve rear toe is going to be a popular tuning aid in GT5 :)

Great effort

it's the same measure of hp, the diference is that my game is in french,ch means hp in english,so 918ch=918hp

Wrong....

In France, they use PS instead of bhp/hp.

1 ps is about .986 bhp so 918 ps would be 905hp like myself and everybody else is getting when car is fully serviced and run in.

Thanks for the feed back man. I actually have not done an endurance race in the zr1 yet. Since buying the FGT i haven't spent much time driving anything else because ive been trying to let the FGT tuning figured out.

OK, this tune is pretty much perfect. I got 3:41 on my 1st attempt and won the challenge. You really can just go full throttle the entire race if you take the turns right.

Thanks for posting the video man. I never really doubted you, but man I cant even come close to that over here. It must be the steering wheel vs the DS3. :)

I'll send you some FGT setting once I finish the Suzi enduro... good enough to win the A spec championship and Bob seems to like them too (I have well over 20k miles on my FGT now!).

BTW, I took the Vette to the All Stars event in A spec... with your tune I managed to win the championship against the LMP cars without power upgrades... so it works well on road courses.

I stuck with higher down force because it gives more grip on turns, but i'll try lowering some to see what times I get.

Thanks

I can't wait to test them out man. I have been testing all FGT tunes posted and make an honest effort to beat my lap times on several different tracks with each tune.

My ZR1 tune is seeing a lot more use than I expected lol. Several guys have reported good luck with it on regular races. It's one of the only tunes for the ZR1 I've used that offers a huge improvement on the massive ZR1 understeer problem.

I'll post my set up after work today, but why you guys running so much downforce on the rear? I'm running 35/30 on my set up.?
no aids but abs 1

Thank you in advance

Are you using the rce modified ZR1 or the road version with a rear wing from the GT Autoshop? The tune is for the race modified car.

The adjustment is in the Tunning settings with all of the rest, under the Body/Chassis option.

It will only be adjustable if you purchased the RM kit, or if you buy all of the front and rear spoilers from GT auto.

My Minolta will do it 3:21 consistently without lifting off.
