I think i got a pretty good idea for the ''to much skylines'' problem... I think they could have maximum of 20-30 cars per make. and those 30 cars or less would be the best new, best classics, most fameous cars of the make in the history. then i think the skyline problem will be away, and it would be more intresting cars into the game...

What do you think? =D

Just wait and see the Skyline amount in GT5 after the new Skyline Coupe R35 has been introduced by just one solely model in GT4. Situation will dramaticaly change in that particular issue, bet on that :D.

I don't mind the idea. It could solve a few problems for some of the other cars that have way to many models in the game.

I hope they chose better cars for allmost every make then... skyline is great cars but it's enough with one of each model...

i dont mind the skylines when theres just 1 of each evolution of it, like one 32, 33, 34, 35 etc etc, and each has 2 models. basic and R type. should stop all the crappy ones that have exactly the same performance, handling, power etc etc but are just a special colour. then again, we would argue there are too many impreza's, and 300ZX's, and so on, until it just gets stupid.

i think its enough with just skyline GTR's from the first GTR to the last. Like in volvo where they had the 240 estate GLT... why didn't they put in the turbo version? I think the chose so strange types of cars... and i think more body modifications is a must for GT5 to be the best car game in the world!

i also forgot: people complain about too many skylines. about 10 of them are JGTC cars, and there are custom tuned ones and the like. so were always going to get a fair few skylines, and supras. just exclude the ones that no-one has even heard of or knows **** all about

yeah, thats true though... maybe they can put the JGTC cars into an own dealer...

I have to say, I dissagree, while it can be annoying having 40 or 50 skylines with most of them being based on the R34 GT-R and offering no noticable difference from the others based on that model, you have to emember that it takes next to no effort to create these cars, you use the same car model, the same textures in most cases, sometimes add one or two, you just change one or two figures ie weight or torque ect and the name of the car. And wham, theres an extra car. I'd rather have 35 cars and 5 be similar R34's than 32 cars and 2 be similar R34's because at the end of the day, adding these almost the same variations does not take the place of other cars, it's as well as.

or they can do like you have to build your own JGTC car... then i got another idea... in the tuning shop there will be a question before you start shopping: What kind of car do you want to build? and then alternatives: JGTC, DTM, Drag Racing, D1 GP and more. and you can only chose the JGTC alternative with Nissan Skyline, Nissan 350z, Toyota Supra and all the other cars that is/have been in the JGTC series irl... I think you should be able to make every car to a Drag Race car though =D

But I'm so affraid PD is sooo damn stupid they will try to fill that maximum with every car manufacturer. Like.....30 Spyker's :yuck: I like one spyker, please not 30...

Lol j/k, I dont think they would do that;) That would be totally stupid. I really like the idea. Every make should include 5 race cars too:P And if these are not different models, just make 5 same cars with different sponsoring. Thats why I still like the Supra's in GT4:dopey:

I don't think GT can be improved by limiting anything. It should reach to the boundries of the real automotive world and beyond.
KY's goal is for GT to be a sort of interactive automotive dictionary. Skylines are only the first step towards this goal, and they're not even complete in that yet. Eventually every car will have as many variations; every generation, every limited edition, every trim level, every colour.

i think they should include one for each gen of skyline, and the gts as well as the gtr cause the rear wheel drive handles totally different than the awd. I like the jgtc cars, but they have way too many skyline jgtc cars, 3 would be enough

yeah, maybe that would be ok... but still it would be quite many skylines. hehe, forget about this ''limited to 30 cars per make'' ****! :D they can have how many cars they want i think now! if they just dont have to many of the same model... one for each gen as you said would be great...

No it doesn't.

true, bit i think its pretty pointless to make maybe 10-20 cars that looks exactly the same and have exaclty the same power... I've stopped liked R34's because of this, thats true.

Thats a fine view, but I'd rather very similar variation were added since it's not taking the place of anything else.

well, it doesn't matter... anyway i dont think they put in to much r34's in gt5 cause they have so much other thing to think, of. making the best racing game in the world for exampel ;)

It is kind of silly to have 50 Skylines, and groups of 5 or 7 of them being essentially the same car. But really, I'd rather have no limits and more variety.

It's nice to have a range of JGTC race cars, both for the paint and decal schemes as well as the identity which goes with them. And I like the fact that you can win cars with unique paint jobs and special versions which you can't buy.

I don't think that we're going to be hurting for cars in GT5, since it seems that Polyphony can use all that data and the car model work for GT4. I'm more concerned about how much the damage modelling work is going to tax the design team.

As I said before, I hope that damage modelling is last on the list of priorities for GT5, unless... hmm... an idea for a poll... 💡

i sorted the gt4 list to reduce the numbers and got off a good 200 cars and that was going soft on a lot of models, take the rx7 for example, out of 18, that can drop to 8, one of each FC, Type R, Type RS, Type RS-R, Type RZ, Spirit R, Bathurst and the LM, and maybe even lose some of them

I dont have a problem with the armada of Skylines in the GT series. Frankly the skylines from GT2 I loved did not make to GT4 I wanted even more. Though some models can be left out without major losses to the model line.(The purple one can go no problem)

Honestly, cry me a river about Skylines. If you don't like them don't drive them, go drive one of the other 650+ cars in GT4. If you take them out now you'll only have people ***** that x model isn't in GT5 but it was in GT4, just the same as people complain about ones that missed the cut from GT2. The MNP skylines are sweet too.

hey guys.. remember this.. gt5 is gonna be pleyed on a PS3 (witch supports blu-ray discs witch can carry up to 50gb insted of the dvd that has 9gb

so I say have 50 skylines and 2000+ cars

larger disc = more cars / tracks so why just limit it to 20-30.. take the whole garage for factories.. It´s a shame thou that the jut had 2 volvos in the gt4 they could have put 5-6 cars more (i.e volvo 850 turbo, volvo xc90, the old 242 coupe, and much more..)

so have the thought in mind that with blu-ray the car limit is the sky

We wern't limited by disk space in GT4, that used only a bit more than half the disk. What I'm saying is that space is rarely an issue.

eh why not just keep all the skylines its not hurting anybody and just add more cars overall. Its not like the skyline models are takin up space of other cars.

now i got an idea! maybe this has been discovered before though... anyway, i think they can put in as much cars as possible... if they just put in a good search engine so you can search the used car you wanna buy! new cars should be at the dealer should not be able at the search engine though, they should be at the dealer halls...

so when you wanna buy a new car you go to the make you wanna have a car from and when you wanna buy a used car you go to the search engine of used car that can have the name: ''Polyphony Used Car Market'' or something where you search by make, model, year and such... then the ''too much cars of the same model'' problem will be away too i think, if you just know what you want...

Is this a very bad idea?

As an additional way of finding cars it would be good. As the only way then no, but if you could go into the used car section and be able to choose a search tab which let you limit the show cars to a certain country, make or model then it would be cool.

yeah, something like that would be great i think... cause i realised it would be even better with as much cars as possible! maybe around 2000 cars! :D, but then a high variation of cars too...
