Things missing on the Gillet Vertigo '04:
  • Incorrect livery (Not the one used by Belgian Racing in 2004, infact dont think that livery was ever used. I might be wrong though)
  • Proximus window banner
  • Canon logo just infront of rear wheels
  • DHL logo infront of front wheels
  • Materne logo underneath the inside of the headlights
  • Toledo Telecom logo on the sideskirts
  • Valvoline logo on the sideskirts
  • Driver names above the passenger side and drivers side windows
  • Toledo Telecom logo missing above the headlights
  • Alot of logos that are on the car are in the wrong places if it was to be the correct livery
And also, incorrect racing number!

I think the Vertigo's correct livery is:

Several (if not all) 3000GTs actually do not need the (J) tag in their name. By my quick and dirty research, they are:

3000GT SL (95-96)
3000GT VR-4 (all models)

;)

OP UP:censored:DATED!

Well, at least what I could get at least. Let me know if I missed anything so I can ignore it for the next two months.

But seriously, if I missed anything let me know so I can fix it.

Sorry for being a pain :P, TS020 is missing driver names

@Gerarghini:

Evo 4 WRC: Blocked driver names (Makkinen)
Evo Super Rally Car: Blocked driver names (fantasy car, but there is a pre-release screenshot with Makkinen's name in the windows. Ironic, considering he had moved to Subaru by 2003)
1999-2003 Impreza WRCs: Classic problem (no driver name)
ST205 GT-Four WRC: Once again: "Bad/biased history in description (game claims Toyota rage quit at the end of 1995 season after DSQ for illegal turbos, whereas what actually happened was FIA ejecting them and banning the works team for 1996)"
Alfa 155: Missing "Phillips Car Systems" in windshield
Hyundai Accent WRC: No driver names or rally name (was in GTC)
Lancia Stratos WRC: Polyphony Digital instead of Alitalia (licensing issues)
C1 Corvette: May still have SST Concept description in US version (can anyone verify this?)
Camaro LM: There is no "prototype version of third generation" Camaro in GT1 at all.

Errors in the list:
Audi R8 5.2: S14 description in US version only
Gillet: "Also apparently has an incorrect livery" no longer necessary

I may run a mini-website dedicated to GT6 car errors, if possible. :)

The 3000GT SL as presented in the game might as well be fictional anyway with how wrong it is, so having a (J) is the least of its problems.

I know that the 1999 Lister Storm has a messed-up weight and is much heavier than it should be, but I have to say that mistake makes the Storm one of my most hated cars in the game. The weight problem has made it understeer into everything (sweepers, hairpins, barriers... the latter being most common). It's an absolute NIGHTMARE to tune, and every tuning attempt so far has done nothing to change its reluctancy to turn, or has even made it worse. If someone can get me a tune for the Storm that actually works, could you let me know?

I lost it there when you said that Toyota had decided to rage quit.

It doesn't even exist, so there.

I'd actually like to see something like that. Go ahead.

This is the wording in the ST205 WRC description in question:

In the 7th round in Catalonia, the Celica was found of the intake restrictor diameter regulation and was stripped of all points of the season. In opposition to the decision Toyota ceased participation in the WRC and the ST205's appearance on the gala stage of the even was limited to just one season.

The bad/biased history is the highlighted one. ;)

Yes, really bad. Actually, the team Toyota Team Europe were given a 1-year ban by FIA, but the ST205 kept competing in WRC rallies until 1997. Actually, these TTE drivers drove these ST205 prepared by Private Teams. Example: Toyota Team Finland

PD meant, and I said, works teams. RS200 WRC's mention of short-lived career of ~4 races (IIRC) also attribute to that. ;)

Not sure that's so much as biased as it is PD derping it up again. Remember, they also put that Jimmie Johnson is called "Superman". That's not bias, that's getting it very wrong.

Toyota Celica GT-FOUR Rally Car '95
No plate of the round. Gran Turismo takes its place.

Ford RS200 Rally Car'85
Although its debut in 1985, the Official Factory team has made its debut just in Rallye Sweden 1986.

The plate on the Celica changes depending on the track you're driving on (R246, Eiger, etc). They could've just put whatever rally it actually raced though.

Came by with some responses and updates to certain cars.

I guess I can contribute one: Toyota 88C-V

Two things off about this car:

1. Its listed in the game as 1989 when its actually from 1988.
2. The west logo that people made a big deal about does not exist on the actual car.

Found more proof of this car's existence in 1988:

That is from the 1988 Fuji 500, the race that the car debuted and if you watch carefully, you'll see the Minolta liveried car we know as well as the Taka-Q liveried version (mostly towards the end)

Also want to confirm that the Peugeot 908 in-game definitely appears to be a modeled press car:

Peugeot-908-HDI-1.jpg

This in-fact actually looks like this is the exact same source photo used on the GT5 themed flyers for the 2010 24 Hours Of Le Mans.

And finally, I suspect the Gillet Vertigo we have in game might be another presentation car. I'm currently trying to find it but like the Peugeot 908, it has no series/race logo around its number.

Licensing is a lousy excuse when the car made it into the game with WEC and FIA logos.

Old I know, but had to respond as copyright is a real issue. Its the exact reason why the Delta wing was at first listed as a Nissan, then removed and returned under the Delta wing name. PD being only the Developer does not want any legal trouble so they aren't going to chance it.

Edit: It appears the Lister Storm GT we have is yet another Presentation car:

1999_Lister_StormGT22.jpg

Sorry I couldn't find a bigger picture but with the lack of the sponsors the main cars have and the lack of series/Race stickers, that's pretty much spot on.

Edit II: Two more interesting findings:

1. The Ford Falcon XR8 has lost its Ford Tickford Racing Logo as well as the driver names "Seton" and "Crompton" that adorned its sides back in Gran Turismo 3:

ford-ftr-1-00-2.jpg

gt3falcon_in.jpg

I'm guessing licensing played a role in that since that team AND that name cease to exist.

2 The Option Stream Z is missing its parachute
