Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

Mine are same as recommended on the logitech support website, of course my preference for the ones with no recommendation

Strength 11Nm
TF Audio 100
FFB Filter 8
Dampener 15
Angle originally set to 1080* but always displays 900 on restarting wheel and connecting to game
Brake force 35kg

Vibration Strength 35
Force Feedback Max. Torque 8
Fore Feedback sensitivity 1
Have not touched controller sensitivity so assume default.
I’m surprised you can run gt7 torque at 8 and 11nm on the wheel! Might have to try that out.

I’m pretty much at recommended as well but my wheel is only at 7.5nm. Hard core race cars I find the strength ALMOST too much.

I am a pretty skinny guy, no strength training or anything, but I do drive real cars on track on occasion and use sim wheel every day since I got it. Personally I dont find it that strong but I was pretty sore for the first week or so with the wheel. Back then I was using lower settings and have been slowly raising them as I found myself looking for a heavier feel. Before the update I was using 6 in game torque and felt the need to raise it a few points, but it does depend on the car.

Oh I can drive the wheel just fine at 11nm, I’m just not sure I like the feel of that at all. I started at 5nm because I had my G923 pretty light, but I’m at 7.5 now, I like it in that range so far, there’s weight but it’s not overbearing. Are real cars at a track actually heavy to steer? I had a car that was macpherson strut / rack and pinion steering. It was fairly heavy at slow speeds but anything above 15-20mph felt easy to turn, navigating parking lots not so much.

Again today I noticed I had that small tick or click on the feel of the wheel when turning left after a smooth right hand sweep. I tried rebooting the wheel, it was still there but less. Anybody have any idea what that might be? Somebody mentioned some force feedback artifact, you’d think that would go away if you shut the wheel off and turned it back on. I was in my own online lobby,,,

Ah I understand what you mean now. In my experience with a heavier (3900lbs) front engine rear drive car the steering does get heavier when the wheels are loaded up in a higher speed turn, nothing like a car with no power steering but you feel the load on the front wheels as you turn. This is an older car with hydraulic power steering, I have tried newer cars with electric power steering which feels overall lighter and more assisted, basically equivalent of reducing the torque setting on the sim wheel in my experience. I prefer the hydraulic feel so thats probably why I find myself turning it up.

I have that same click / tick when turning to the left once in a while. It feels hardware related. It might be our production run.
It really is mechanical. Could be firmware or GT7 FFB thing. But to me it feels more of a mechanical thing under load. A tiny bit concerning. Wheel functions fine. I race in VR with headphones but still notice it once in a while. Luckily Rich is here on the forum. I'm confident that if this indeed is HW related, an issue will be handled appropriately under warranty. Keep me posted. I will 2.
Still in love with the Pro set.

Yeah and sometimes it’s not there? You know I was goofing around in a room because somebody I know was just learning to race so I was slamming into walls and drifting like crazy and doing doughnuts. I wonder if it has something to do with that. And yes it feels like a click just off center to the left.

Another clicker here, has been there since about 6 hours in I think, has become more common over time. Tone wise, I think it's just some part of the plastic housing, I don't think it's motor related.

I had a poke about at the wheel on Saturday, and I think it's the comparatively thin plastic that sort of boxes in the paddle shifters on the rear of the wheel.

The top / side of that area can be poked and it produces the same sort of click, and there's definite flex in that part, it's quite thin plastic. Worth a prod and see if it's the same clicking. It does appear to be under the same conditions, i.e. when steering left and happens at about 30 - 45* or rotation.

I’ll try to remember to take my headset off when it’s doing it and see what I find. It sure seems like FFB though. Almost like you’re driving over a single rock. Lol

I started noticing creaking/clicking noises when turning the wheel. I don't remember if it was there from day one. The wheel has been used for 30 hours now. It happens when the load on the wheel changes directionality. I dug deeper and it turns out that the noise is caused by the intermediate hub attached to the motor.

The hub seems to be somewhat loose or improperly attached, either a design flaw or a manufacturing defect. There's a screw that secures the hub, but it's unreachable without disassembling the housing so I can't tell if it's an easy fix or not. See if yours does the same while slowly turning the wheel through the 0 degree position? The wheel is idling while connected to the PC (or PS5 main menu), there is a progressive load generated from the force feedback at idle connection during the test.

What bothers me the most about this is that these clicks can be felt through the wheel rim so it's not just noise. Quite disappointing from a premium priced product.

Exactly same here…this is indeed something that is not great for a premium Product. I geuss this will be ironed out in an rev2 / mk2. Is this normal and acceptabel? Well let’s see what Logitech thinks and what their
Solution is to the matter. Could be early units only and therefore replacement policy. But if all are affected, the board will have to decide on a major loss / replacement. Maybe there will be a repair / modification solution. That would be acceptable. You indeed feel the click. So it would be better without indeed.

This would be acceptable only for an Aliexpress wheel that costs 10 times less. I have no idea what the Logitech will do about it. They did a poor job during testing and debugging phase, not noticing such obvious flaws. This is a second issue I have to deal with it.

When did you buy the steering wheel?

So to check you need to slowly turn the steering wheel when ps5 is in the main menu or already in the GT7 menu?

No I kinda don't want to deal with the Logi support website anymore, don't have good experience with them, it's super slow and tedious. I don't even know how to report this. This is a design flaw probably requiring product-wide recall, obviously they won't acknowledge the issue publicly, only internally and solve it with V2 revision. I suppose @LOGI_Rich will pass the information to them.

How loud and annoying is it? Can there be sound enhancement in the video?

The video has not been processed in any way. It's loud enough to be audible even when I crank up my sound system. If you wear headphones then you're probably good. But that's not the issue. I can feel the clicks though the rim, that bothers me the most.

In GT7, do you feel it on the rim when playing despite the Trueforce effects?

Just an update on my noise!! I have a different noise to @miroshi as I’ve just done the same movements to my wheel as you did to yours in the video.

Mine seems to be button/knob related on the wheel and I’m guessing they are vibrating when Trueforce feedback is sent through the wheel. It’s really apparent/distracting over curbs and not even cranking the volume up on GT7 disguises it.

I’ve also noticed my R Knob doesn’t seem to be attached properly and that probably doesn’t help; when you rotate it it is ‘wobbly’ if that makes sense, I can’t see an easy way to remove it to check it.

Here’s what it looks like just sat, as you turn it the blue ring moves further and closer as you rotate it

Thanks, you know what, before racing last night, I detached the wheel, looked at things and put it back on, I didn’t feel that “click” last night. I’m sure it’ll come back, I’ll check this next time I race or next time it clicks.

I'm looking for new gloves. Are there any recommended gloves for this wheel? I find it very rough and using my Sparco Meca3 hurts my palms. Their durability is also quite awful. It's very important for me to have gloves that are breathable, durable, and suitable to feel Trueforce still (I've read some gloves reduce vibrations).
Fox Racing Flexair Mountain Bike Glove https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09891NG2R/?tag=gtplanet-20

I use these and am happy with them.
They are light and airy and have great "feel" on the wheel. After 7 months of use several times a week and multiple washings, they are showing signs of wear however (screen printed fox logo coming off, small hole starting to form on the edge of one of the thumbs), but still holding up well overall.

I checked mine. No issue. Did exactly as you said in the main menu. Zero noise.

Thank you. I ended ordering ones from Moradness, still waiting for the delivery.

Ok, who else is able to replicate similar creaking/clicking noises when following the exact testing method (No Trueforce involved)? @Turboracer confirmed similar problems, who else?

Well, similar but not as bad. Same noise but occasionally. Could get worse. Will keep
Track off it everyday.
Still love the set.
Only Hope this is not a defect that will grow worse over time.

Not even my 12 years old T500RS had similar issues as this wheel just after 2 weeks of usage. A "PREMIUM" product, I'm not able to use it with the TV while HDMI si connected without frequent disconnections and now this, having to listen to and getting distracted by creaks / clicks as if it was a 100 USD cheap steering wheel. Never had to experience anything like this with any other brand I can think of.

I’ve got to agree, my creaks/clicks but me every time I play. That right knob actually ‘clicks’ in and out and doesn’t sit properly, looks like a manufacturing fault.

I bought the G Pro over other brands because I thought at that price quality was assured. Sad that isn’t the case. It could be a great wheel without these quality issues.

I’ll have to check yet but I don’t know, mine really seems like it’s a ffb thing. Like somebody had mentioned, a ffb artifact or something. Next time it does it or I feel it, I’m going to shut my game off and boot it back up again. Or maybe my entire system.

And have you tried to force the ring back from the quick-release towards the base. I've noticed that if it's not fully retracted manually, there are such cracks. When I put it in the direction of the base, it's quiet. Check yourself.

Have you tried undoing that ring?
