Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

Fix for loose steering wheel on a new Logitech g pro wheel, no disassembly:

My new g pro wheel developed play in the steering wheel after only 3 days of use. The end of the wheelbase shaft could wobble in the up/down direction without the wheel on, and with the wheel attached the sound would be amplified to a knocking sound when rocking the tilt of the wheel between 6 and 12 o'clock, just like in the videos here:

Another reddit post mentioned the black screw on the bottom of the shaft holding on the quick release hub. The front of the wheelbase housing blocks tools from reaching it. I was able to get the screw to turn by pressing into the hex socket sideways with a small flat blade screwdriver, which helped, but I couldn't get it to tighten. Then I realized I could cut down a 3mm allen wrench to fit in the gap around the shaft, and I was able to tighten the screw, which fixed the loose wheel. After playing for a few hours the wheel is still tight. So the screw must have vibrated loose, and needs better loctite?

My last wheel, which still works, is the red Logitech Momo from 2000. I used it on Gran Turismo 3, 4, 5, 6, and sport. For GT4 I had to unsolder the USB microcontroller chip and replace it with one from a cheaper Logitech wheel, because GT4 would only allow the cheaper wheel to work. In 2016 the plastic steering shaft broke in a spiral fracture, and my neighbor was able to print me a replacement in ABS on his new 3D printer. For GT sport I had to use GIMX freeware that a french guy wrote, that tricks the PS4 into thinking the momo is a G29, by plugging the momo and a dualshock controller into a laptop and plugging the laptop into the ps4 through a USB microcontroller and serial port adapter.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the cables for connecting the Logitech PRO Racing Wheel and pedal set. In practically every cable supplied with the set, the rubber sheath has separated from the plug, exposing the bare wires. This has never happened to me before, and I try to handle my equipment carefully.

Has anyone replaced the factory cables with others and can recommend ones that will fit?
Specifically, I’m looking for:

  • The shape of the micro USB plug that connects to the wheel.
  • Ferrite core shielding on the factory cables that suppresses interference.
  • Ideally, a cable connecting the wheel to the computer that is slightly longer than the factory version.
Does anyone have proven solutions for replacement cables?

Best regards!
Same issue here. Just noticed when I plugged in the RS Shifter. I’ll
open a ticket.

I must let out some frustration here :)

Shoping from Logitechs site has been a experience that differs from any other online store I bought something from.

Have owned a lot of Logitech stuff before, gaming mouses, remotes, streamers etc but all has been bought in local stores.

Ordered the G Pro Wheel and pedals on 29/11. Both items with status ”in stock” when ordering.
They still showed as “in stock” 5 days after i did the purchase.

Friday i got the wheel and an email that they were hoping to send all items last week, but the pedals haven’t been shipped yet.

When looking at the status now on the site, they are “out of stock” shipment will start 19/12.

Contacted support pointing out that i’ve made the order 29/11, surely ”my” pedals must ship out prior to 19/12 or at least at 19/12.
All i got for a response was that, sorry its going to be sometime after 19/12.

Yeah, i didn’t expect logitech to roll out the red carpet, but i did expect a lot more when buying something close to half a month salery after taxes.

The only good thing sofar is seeing Logitech Rick supporting people to the best of his ability, to me, thats customer service.

Cred to him, but not so much cred to Logitech shoping experience.

Peace

Yeah. Logistics these days is a little weird. I ordered a Pro wheel and pedal set in the later evening of the 9th of December. I had proof posted from a couple friends theirs were shipped a year ago from a warehouse an hour from my home to them in Canada and the US east coast in less than a week. Mine appears to have been shipped from 2,107miles/3391Km away and started moving on the 12th, coming by train. According to shipping company's tracker thing, it was in Kansas City this morning.

loose g pro wheel still seems fixed after another few hours of playing GT7. I also found out the force feedback strength setting in GT7 was set to 5 by default, so the loose quick release screw on the g pro wheelbase vibrated loose at just half FF strength? I could have kept using my old logitech momo on GT7 on PS4 through GIMX, but I wanted to try direct drive and a load cell brake pedal.

Most likely it wasn't properly tightened in the first place on your unit. It's not a common issue i see here.
