Japan actually came second in the 4x100 IM relay!

Wow, that was a bit unexpected!

That's impressive, and I was actually cheering for them to stay in front of the Aussies. I don't know why, but they had been on form most of the time and it was just nice to see them get their reward then.

I'm waiting for the men's discus to start, an ex-pupil from my school is competing- Lawrence Okoye, he's 21 but he's already broken the British record, 6ft6in, and about that wide.

Jeez...i'm rooting for Gerd Kanter in the event...that man is HUGE.

Aside from the freestyle leg, Japan were there with the USA, which is pretty impressive. Good finish for Phelps, that's his competitive swimming done forever.

I actually would prefer South Korea to win the footy match.

Would just be better really, as I don't rate GB chances AT ALL at footy.

That's him. Doing Law at Oxford too. He's a nice bloke too...

Great run from Jess Ennis to top off a great Heptathlon performance. A very well deserved gold!

I was quite sceptical about today being called "super Saturday" at the Olympics but it certainly has been so far and it could get even better

It has just got better Rutherford is long jump champion

I saw just about all of the Mexico vs. Senegal Men's Soccer/Football game. I still can't believe that one player got only a yellow card while leaping up and kicking the one Mexico player on the side of his face. Then again, some of the fouls in that game were questionable at best.
