I think this could be one of GBs greatest Olympics ever, on home soil too. Still way more medals to be won!

Who said I didn't care? I watched it and switched over to the football then. Also about 5 people posted something along the lines of 'And Farah gets gold in the 10000m'

I'm just saying, since everyones so elated that Farah won that everyone forgot about the match, and I found it funny =).

At the Atlanta games in 1996, Great Britain won just one gold medal...and now we have won 6 golds..in one day!!!!!

I reckon we'll easily beat the 19 we got in Beijing.

Well that was a surprise, Ramsey confidently steps up and scores.

Has Jack Butland ever even been in a shoot out ?

Definitely. Could have been a grassroots game but he would have been in one.

GB have a penalty saved by S.Korea.

And then Korea win.

Well, GB was never going to win the football. They're awful at it and their players always have over-inflated opinions of their skills (my opinion).

So I was quite happy that they lost anyway.

As always, the English are culpable for the loss, other home countries can take penalties. Unfortunate, but would have been difficult against an awesome Brazil team anyway.

Oh my. Penalties did them in AGAIN! Saddened for my British friends and the great posters here on gtp

re: Stutter Step penalties... I have nothing scientific to base this on, but does it not seem like the overwhwlming majority of stutter step left footed players shoot to the keepers left and the stutter step right footed players shoot towards the keepers right?

I hate stutter step pk's. They seem immentley more saveable to me.
