I meant exact draw, as in insolvable by photo finish ;)

Would be an awesome two man 100 meter race, EPIC!

Great haul for GB tonight, would be great if they could hold 3rd in the medal table to the end but its going to be tough. As for the football, we have a penalty kick disease in this country.

I don't follow nor like football, but I was surprised that we (GB) could not piece together a better team/performance being that this is by far the biggest sport in our country, a country that many consider the home of the sport!

But with that aside today was pretty awesome for GB, but is it the reality that the best of our gold medal hopes has already passed?

I think that's it for team GBs major medals, I would hope Gemili does well in the 100m final today but it's going to be hard with the Jamaicans in there.

Off-topic; When did Asafa Powell get a beard?, I'm sure it only spawned on his chin at the start line

The double amputee South African ran his 400 meter heat today, finishing a solid second and moving to the next round A magnificent Olympic moment to see someone who had to go through what he had to go through, achieve such heights as becoming an Olympian.

He's a pioneer.

Why isn't he in the Paralympics though, that's something that boggles me..

I'm not an expert here, but is it because he's fast enough to run with able bodied Olympians. His prosthetics have been thoroughly tested and people smarter than all of us put together determined they provide no advantage.

So, is it simply that he can hang with them, and beat 6 of them today?

Would be funny if he won and they all protested against the result.

USA Swimming, fortunate to have four women gold medalists in the four different strokes combine to make an incredible 4x100m relay team, crushing the field (2 seconds ahead of the silver medalists) setting a World Record as well. Awesome.

How about the British long jumper? Out of nowhere? Sure, a short distance for a gold medal win, but he's still a Gold Medalist! What's his story???

There'd be nothing to protest, he's already been cleared. I don't think others were very happy about it when it occurred, though.

It was a complete privilege watching Michael Phelps swim in 3 Olympic Games. I made sure my entire family stopped what they were doing and together we watched his final race as a family. History in front of your eyes. What a career...

I can't think of one American athlete outside of the three major sports (football, basketball, and baseball) to have a bigger impact on his sport. Donovan and McBride pushed soccer to new levels, Gretzky (technically Canadian, but played here for a few years) put hockey in the spotlight, Roddick and the Williams sisters bring some glory to tennis, but no one has brought more young kids to their sport than Phelps.

A couple of my thoughts

1) So it looks a though the BBC Sports personality of the year contest will be tough this year..but despite what happened last night..i still think Bradley Wiggins is the favourite..as he is still the greatest british olympian ever!!

2) In the sunday mirror today it said that although we are 3rd in the medal table, we are ahead of USA and China in terms of population, which is obviously to do with the fact that we have a much smaller population than America and China! can anyone confirm this??

Correct, if the table was done by medals per person in that country we would be top. :D A nice silver for GBs sailers, now Ben Ainslie for gold!

Ben Ainsle gold in sailing and Murray doing good in tennis. Another good day for GBR?

Also, will Murray be a British hero getting gold at the olympics or a Scottish 🤬

Since its only a 3 setter then Murray may have a chance! Its when it comes to 5 setters that the top 3 really justify their ranks. So far no ones broken serve yet but Murray is quite close!

Update: Murray breaks serve and leads 4-2!

Murray in the lead 5-2, come on Andy!!

Djokovic is a set down to del Potro, and he's started getting very frustrated. He's struggling to hold serve at the start of the second as well.

Well done Murray :)

Edit; sorry for double-post, I assumed someone would have posted before me :/

A well deserved win for Murray, I'm happy that he's earned that gold medal :D
