Still waiting for a postbox in my town to be painted gold. I want to see it before it gets vandalised!

Watching Pendleton earlier, how on earth do you go about competing with such a confident competitor? It's hopeless!

She beat the Olympic 'A' grade points total in order to gain entry, in doing so she ranked 20th in the world at senior level. http://www.mtc-uk.com/talent/katarina-johnson-thompson/

How? Hurdles? Long Jump? What?

Article says she was a good high jumper, but certainly she is nowhere near dominant heights. Not enough for her to be where she is out of seven events. Six if you exclude her abysmal shot putting.

Since he's struggling, let me answer your question. She can run and she can jump pretty well, which is what she looks like she would be good at. She can throw a stick pretty well. She looks a bit scrawny to be tossing bowling balls and it just so happens that it's her weakest event.

Tiebreaker on the mixed doubles tennis! Go Team GB! 👍

UPDATE: Team GB win silver on mixed doubles tennis! Shame Andy Murray couldn't scoop up 2 golds.

Clancy gets the Bronze.

I don't like this Omnium event. It's no substitute for the loss of the individual pursuit.

Everything! I'm baffled as to why you want to break it down beyond the overall total. it's the overall total that got her into the olympics and it's the overall total that the average spectator should judge a heptathletes performance on.

Unless you compete against, coach or commentate on her it's not going to make the slightest bit of difference knowing what her weaknesses are.

And if you go by everything then she is unremarkable at this point. In fact, she is the median. I think you can tell I'm not a fan of these overall events.

She finished 15th out of 38 athletes and she is still a junior. Nuff said really.

And shes only 19..

She finished 15th out of 39 entrants, 38 starters and 32 finishers. all you've done is attempt to question your way out of an ignorant initial statement.

Watching womens beach volleyball quarterfinals now and Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor are demolishing the Italians. Wish the camera focused more on Marta Menegatti though

So you aren't impressed with someone who set 3 personal best in the heptathlon and equalled one as well at 19 years old and is world junior champion in the long jump.

That was the point.

I was trying to figure out why she was in it, basically. Just saw a few events and figured she was only featured because she was Team GB.

Wow. Gatlin just ran a 9.82. Powell 3rd. Looks like Gatlin will win a medal in the finals.

Shame my other interest (Kitty & Nevis) got blown away... but Damn!! Bolt makes it look so easy.

Agree with SDDaz, new world record to be set tonight. 👍

Well done Gemili, shame he didn't quite make it.

So... who's gonna win, Bolt, Blake or Gay?

The track is super fast. I would be surprised if there wasn't a new WR. Tons of PRs anyway.

No surprise that Blake won that one!!

But a great performance by Adam Gemili!! one for the future!:)
