There must be more than one long track in this world. Vehicle manufactures must have test tracks of their own.
What about the Isle of man TT track (35 miles). Would love to go around that.

Yes there are but it's quite simple that the longer the track, the longer it takes to model. The TT track for example to Nurburgring standards would take a long, long time.

There are plenty, used and unused. Plus there will always be public roads, like old spa and highways.

The longer the track, the worse it is for testing.

There are many 4+ mile long tracks missing from GT, hopefully, we'll see them in GT6. If we get a real track editor this time along with more real tracks, that should cover everything.

Gotland Ring, when complete, will total over 20 miles long. Unlike IOM-TT it will be a purpose built racing track complex, so not a public road system. Not sure if it would ever feature in the GT series but it would nice to give all the different configurations a go as well the entire joined up course.

:)

I'm not a big fan of long tracks. What's the longest on the F1 scene, Spa? I can tolerate that, and might go
mad and do some Sarthe now and then

The Nordschliefe and such, I can't enjoy so much

I'm aware that this is because of my short-ish attention span rather than any kind of logic, but there you go :D

Perhaps a return of Pike's Peak? The full version would be a good idea this time. It's long way in distance and a fair gain of altitude.

The only ones I really wouldn't mind are Pikes Peak, if they improve the rallying aspect of GT6 if the include the old versions of the course and TT.

what about nordschleif that is the best track for setting up your car because every turn is different. I used nordshleif to tune my f2007 and now I can do under 5 minute laps with no aids except for abs on 1. Also, although i don't like stage route X I've heard it is good for breaking in cars. So you speek for yourself when you say this

The Nurburgring is a bad test track precisely because it's so long. This is especially true in GT5 since you can sometimes only go only 2 laps before needing to pit in.

Good test tracks are short, and allow for many repeatable lap times. Also, in a game like GT5 the one potentially saving grace of the Nring (wide range of corners) is lost. Tuning a car on the ring is pointless unless you're going to race there. Creating a general setting for all tracks is pointless because that limitation is no where to be found in game.

Tuning on the Nurburgring exclusively is an awful idea. And that doesn't just apply to me, but everyone.

That said, I love long tracks for racing.

Welcome to :gtpflag:

Long tracks would only be good for endurance races.

Not even for endurance races. You can do 1000 miles or twenty-four hours on a four-mile track just as well as a forty-mile one.

If they updated El Capitan and made it four to five times longer, I think it would be awesome. A long track doesn't necessarily have to be an existing track just as long as it is has excellent scenery. Base something off of Skyline Drive in VA during autumn or a blast through the Swiss Alps during summer. Southern France, Jejudo, Korea (AWESOME place), some twisty coast line, etc. It doesn't have to be exact, just a thought of "What would it be like if there was a road to drive through here?"

... Isle of Man would be awesome too.

It would be interesting if GT6 included distance races, not lapped ones. Like, one end of a highway to the next.
