Long tracks

It's true for any huge track starting from scratch. It's one thing modders making a rough looking version for rFactor, it's another doing it to retail game standards.

One thousand miles long lap should be enough.

Of course if they include it in GT6, that will mean they must have been working on it since GT1 started development, which means it would be in PS1 graphics. :scared:

But then again, who cares, because GT6 would have the MILLE MIGLIA, B:censored:S! WOOOOOOO!!!

have you checked the quality of PD's tracks lately? extremely low res textures and look horribly bland compared to PC and Forza equivalents...

Tracks like Nurburgring and Spa are pretty good and much more detailed than PC mod tracks.

I much prefer long tracks, Cape ring in GT5 had a good idea, break it into component - "Kid sized" baby tracks so you can learn a short layout, then combine it together for the Full "Must be this tall to ride" layout.

Again, GT5 had a nice way to get new drivers into a longer track. The way they treated Nurburgring was great, even for someone who knows the current wider and softened layout, the AMG event just brought you up to speed in bite sized chunks.

Some players can't get to grips with Longer tracks, so give up and don't even try. Which is a shame.

Having a Solitude or a Clermont Ferrand in GT6 with a Special event which could just be a single Sector Time Trial -

-- Indeed extended versions of the old classics would be welcome here. The Old chestnut of a Combination of the original Night tracks SS11 & SS5 would be fun.

Targa Florio would be good, Isle of Man would be tempting even if it is famous as a Motorcycle event.

I'm sure there must be a 'new' long track(s) in the coming gran turismo game(s). Although Nurburgring is a great track you can't use it forever as a somewhat unique selling point. My only hope is that if they make a new track they will still include nurburgring and not ditch it like they did with other great tracks from GT4.

Ditching the ring would be THE stupidest decision PD ever made and boy have they made some bad ones in their time.

They should bring back complex string i know it's not very long but it is sort of long.

Complex string was one of my favorite courses. Was great for tuners (like me). Also, good fun when having competitions with friends.

Long tracks would only be good for endurance races.
I would disagree with this. You could either have a really interesting door-to-door sprint race (1 lap) or a good medium sized race (10 laps, 1-2 hours, etc.).
Yes there are but it's quite simple that the longer the track, the longer it takes to model. The TT track for example to Nurburgring standards would take a long, long time.
True. However, I'd rather they do this than not have it. Even if they have to add it within 3-6 months after launch as DLC. Yes, I'd pay.
Perhaps a return of Pike's Peak? The full version would be a good idea this time. It's long way in distance and a fair gain of altitude.
Yes, yes, yes. Talk about a good hybrid time trial track!
The Nurburgring is a bad test track precisely because it's so long. This is especially true in GT5 since you can sometimes only go only 2 laps before needing to pit in... That said, I love long tracks for racing.
It sounds like it's more the tire model, less of the track... but I agree with the idea of racing of the long track.

Someone mention a test track?! :) This would make a great test track and some interesting fundamental races, especially endurance races.

It's not the need to pit that is the main issue, it's the fact that you can't get in as many laps as you can with other tracks. To do effective testing, you need to know how fast you and set up actually are, not just how fast they happen to be on lap 1 or 2.

Tuning on the Nurburgring isn't impossible, it's just horribly inefficient compared to tuning on a short track.

how about the classics? Complex string anyone? that's like 5 miles of hell. I would enjoy some closed street tracks like the Tail of the Dragon route... forgot where it's at. maybe some more F1 tracks like holkenheim (spelling?) and singapore.

Really dude? some of my best tunes were born on that track. I got an old '96 Efini RX-7 that I spent months tuning on the ring. now it's a good multipurpose car that can hang with the top dogs on laguna and other medium size tracks. get it on the ring and you won't see it again.

And Abu Dhabi too.amazing looking track

I'd kill to see the Hockenheimring in GT6. You know, the classic layout that doesn't exist anymore. I can't believe they ripped up the old part of the track and are letting nature take over. So sad to see. :(

They had to build the new track because Eccelstone wanted a shorter track or the F1 wouldn't drive there any more. For this new Track they had to cut trees and the green party only agreed to this if these trees were replaced on the old part of the track =(
I love the old layout and I'm happy that there are 2 games inlcuding the old layout (new Test drive Ferrari and ProjectCars). This track would be great for some endurance-races in GT6 but I can't image that they'll include it. If they include Hockenheim then it's gonna be the new version. Also a nice track but nothing compared to the old one

There have been many good ideas for long tracks and testing etc, but you're forgetting SSR7 and SSRX...

I haven't tried SSRX, I don't have GT5, but I have seen videos...

I'd kill to see SSR11 in GT6, I was rather sad to see it go when PD made GT4:(

Just the GT3 layout please

You kidding bud? Dat suicide chicane in GT1  better not be left out, going through there is like win it or crash it, more exciting than the straight that replaced it for GT3. But yeah, any of those would be better than none :)

Complex String was great. Even watching replays was a blast on that course. It offered everything you could want in a track (except for big elevation changes) and it was all conveniently laid out for testing/tuning. Bring back The Complex String!

I want some mountain passes there so many montain roads in japan they can add to the game

But think about how long it would take PD to model a course like that? I'm sure thats part of the reason El Capitan isn't in GT5. It would take sooooo long to model everything.
