Looking for a Duping Buddy

Like the title says, I'm looking for a duping buddy to dupe the new DLC paints to to save time. I won't be interested if you aren't on GT5 regularly or have a busy trading schedule. Here's how it works if you're interested:

We both buy the DLC on our main accounts and install it in GT5.

We backup the gamesave on our accounts.

We paint sendable cars with the DLC paint, send them to each other, then re-write over the gamesave.

We then send the cars back to each other.

IF YOU STEAL MY CARS I WILL REPORT YOU.

This whole process takes one day, and it saves time because you can only send one car per console per day, so if I wanted to dupe them by myself it would take TWO days versus ONE with a duping partner. Basically, we both benefit from each other, and save time.

Here are more elaborate instructions, graciously posted by MONSTAR-1. REMEMBER, YOU SEND THE CAR TO ME, NOT YOUR DUPE ACCOUNT.

I'm sure a few already knows this but I'll explain how to do it for those that don't.

You can dupe DLC paints but not the way as we know it like with normal paints.
Make sure that after to get the DLC that you quit and save game to your USB! (VERY IMPORTANT!)

You paint a tradable car in a DLC paint and send it to your second account.

Quit game an delete GT5 game data. Or as TYGER and REDRKT suggested you don't have to delete save game data, you can just reload from USB straight over saved game data.

Reload your GT5 saved game off you USB .

When you go back to your paint items the DLC that you used to paint the tradable car will be back in your paint items.

When you go to your 2nd account to get the car you sent with the DLC paint it will be painted in the DLC colour but you won't get the DLC paint chip. You will receive the previous colour of that car.


So now you can have multiple cars painted in the new DLC colours and not waste them. If you paint a new DLC car or any other non tradable car in the DLC paint then be carefully not to save it unless you are happy to have used the paint.

I was kind of interested when I saw that this was about paint since I don't care about paint and I don't use those trade slots anyway, but if it's going to cost car slots, I don't know.

Would you be willing to send me tickets for painted cars? I'm not agreeing yet, but this might make me consider it more seriously.

Nah, sorry, I just got started (I'm only level 20 A-Spec) and I don't have any tickets, I may be able to accumulate some after I start duping though, so keep it in mind.

The problem I see with this is that when you send a car, I believe the color chip the recipient gets is the original color of the car (correct me if I'm wrong). I also believe PD has it setup so the new colors cannot be gifted, so they probably have it setup that you cannot get a chip when you receive the car (like the Ruf's) or that the car will revert back to it's original color.

Did you actually read my post? I'm duping the car with the paint on it, leaving the chip intact when I restore the gamesave. You can only send one car per console per day, so with a duping partner it takes ONE day versus TWO. As long as I can send it to another account on another PS3, I can restore the save and get the car back the SAME DAY.

So to me... that's 200 times sending cars to get the chip, that's providing the chip can be obteined from the cars, so bottom line... 6.57098224 months of work, if you don't miss a single day

The chip can't be obtained, the car is however painted in the new colour when someone receives it. OP is trying to save a few of his chips by duplicating the cars with the new paint on it. You don;t need to do it a 100 times either, maybe just 10-15 times for your favourite cars?

Because I love the new paints, and I don't want to spend $2.00 every time I want to paint a car in fluorescent yellow.

Get the DLC, save your gamesave to a usb, paint your car and use it, enjoy it, once you're done with it, reload your gamesave from your usb, paint still there, available for another car, simples

Who will you report them to? You're attempting to procure DLC items illegally, so I'm sure Sony will be only too pleased to hear from you.
