Apologies where it's due, Sumo sorry for forcing you over the kerb on one of the early laps.
But darn that was a good fightback after my big crash early in the race. And I really do mean fight, it was really on with Will and Dax at the last half of the race.
Was learning the car all those laps as I had no previous experience, I now know I have to drive it more smoothly, brake deeper and manage that outside rear tire.

WOOOOOO!

Great race. Couldn't pull away from Carracer as anytime I did gain I lost in mistakes under pressure or in the draft.

Managed to pull out a 4 second lead at pitstop which I managed to stretch to 5.5 in the next lap.
I then realised that carracer was starting to catch so I thought "right, live with this" and gunned it doing consistent mid 2'01s and was able to pull out a 13 second lead by the end. :D

Does anyone have any incidents they wish to report? Anywhere you thought you were unfairly disadvantaged for the stewards to investigate? Approximate lap/sector is helpful. 👍

If they do, message a steward in PM please.

Except for me as I don't have replay saved.

Some teams of certain drivers aren't listed, but here's the standings table for the sake of completion, though there's not much to analyze, with only one round completed ;)

GR 👍
When I started gaining I was pushing and clipped a 1.2 I was ready to try and repeat it then IIRC I hear someone say "live with this" and fade off into the distance, then I crashed (pushing to hard, like I said anything under 1.9 and I start crashing), then crashed, then miss-shifted, then crashed.......
You had great pace, couldn't keep up.

Fastest lap goes to carracerptp with a 2'01.093 in lap 3. 👍 (Drafting)

And thanks Carracer. 👍

My best: 2'01.166

I'm wondering if we can recruit some FIA GT1 people?

Anyway, my race:

I qualified 7th, couldn't really do anything right in qualifying. At the start, I got off decently without making up ground at the beginning, but passed Willie and Dax on the first lap, then drafted Niko on the front straight. As the pack behind me started to battle heavily, I pulled away and was catching MadMax before he swerved into the pitlane. I kept going for a while before heading there as well.

I emerged directly behind him and got close, but made some stupid errors and fell multiple seconds back. Then, though, I recovered and caught up back into the draft, clocking 2'01's while doing so. At the end of lap 16, I got such a perfect exit from the last corner that I managed to get by long before the first corner, on the straight.

After the hot pursuit, I tried to make up gap, but hit the wall on lap 18 and was caught again. Lap 19 was extremely close, me and Max went side by side numerous times. On lap 20 I was able to get the upper hand by braking late into the first corner, and pulled away enough to lead the way to the finish, despite a minor error on the final lap.

Overall, 3rd place was much better than I had expected here, where I have so often struggled in the past practice sessions, and the best part was how I was able to leave the bad qualifying completely behind.

My race:

Had a great quali where i did a 2:02.6 (that is great for me ^^) the list in quali said i was third but i started fourth.. well starting the race i got caught up in some fights but finally settled in the fight for fifth with dax.

We were fighting until he pitted on lap 7 and i thought wow already? is he doing a two stopper? I kept going for a couple of laps and did consistent 2:04 really thought dax would be far ahead of me when i pitted but stayed calm because i definately didn't think he would make it with one stop after stopping so early.

I pit on lap 10 and come out just ahead of dax!! wow but knowing dax he could still be on a one stopper.. we thought hard, me being fast on some parts and he being fast on others.. no one could break away.

Starting lap 16 we started to go real slowly because of our squabbling and willie and pepsi caught up fast.

At lap 17 i got my only real chance to break away when dax made a mistake out of the final corner but then i made on in the following corner and he was ahead of me again.

Finally on lap 19 my tires are starting to get to that slidy point in their life and coming in to the second to last corner i start sliding to the left, dax comes up on my left and get hit before i can correct my car.. he get left behind and i lose two places.

On the straight i catch them up again but coming out of the double left hander i lose control and spin. only sumo stays behind me..

I finish in 8th.

Probably because you were the other side of the track so your game wasn't rendering our battle properly.

Still think you should have given back the place, as the crash dropped me 3 positions.

Hm probably should have.. but at least i did involuntarily some corners later ^^ Didn't really think of it as a failed overtaking move or anything right then, more like i had an accident and you were unlucky enough to get caught in it..

Sumo, want to team up? I'll leave the name to you if you want :)

In any case, our team is only 6 points behind the conveniently named "Team Lotus" :dopey:

Dunno what happened but I saw you two really trading paint.
Oh btw does anyone else use the H-shifter&clutch? The Elise has such a sweet gearbox and clutch, changes are great and gears spaced well (except 5th).

I use a shifter.

Penultimate Corner was a ******** getting it right! :D

Yeah, you gotta have good heel & toe technique (I don't as you might have seen) if not you go in sideways!
