Lyons LM2 Streamliner

I like how they claim the founder is perfectionist because he wouldn't show an unfinished car.

Funnily enough, he did a very detailed build log of his "lambo".

Anyways, I can't help but wonder exactly what he is expecting to accomplish in a couple days time considering he was supposedly planning on unveiling it last year.

The Lyons Streamliner actually exists in some form

Exactly, but I guess it's like any one off for the rich, if you make it flashy and decent looking enough you can get some money bags to buy it.

However, why don't more people trying to build a line of luxury sedans instead. I mean the Tesla idea is smart but if you don't want to do EVs just make some with an ICE and then do something innovative that makes upper class people want to buy your luxury sedan to super sedan type cars. Why spend hours (poorly) at CAD to make something far too ambitious. If I were a engineer or automotive designer wanting to start my own manufactured car company I wouldn't be messing with the hyper car crowd to make a quick buck.
I think that's a pretty competitive & somewhat deadly market to break into for your first go-around. With supercars, it's easy to outsource the performance; a twin-turbo LS Block tuned to push 1,200-1,500Hp seems to be popular & doesn't break the bank for a new company. After that, you can market the car as a performance hyper car to distract from however you choose to do the interior or ride comfort.

Luxury sedans though, don't give you the same leeway. Depending on what price you're after, the fit & finish has to match. Cheap V8s won't pass the satisfactory level for the people who buy these cars, so you have to source something that's going to run the development bill a bit/lot more. Then, you'll have to test it & make sure it runs like a luxury car whilst the supercar marques will just shoot for performance numbers. Consider the amount of competition you then have to face; Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, etc. Even Hyundai's Equus is out there. A very broad market that's already been taken over, & I don't think many people have the ingenuity of Elon Musk. The only way I could see someone succeeding is either go all out & try to top Rolls-Royce/Maybach, or undercut Hyundai/Cadillac. That's a tall order both ways to make profitable.

Shares the same fate as some Vision GT cars that exist but don't function, and other concept cars only for show.

Well, I guess that leaves all of us doubters with egg on our faces.

Also, I've never noticed it before, but unless the seat position is higher up, visibility must suck.

Edit: Say what you will about Youabian, but at least when that monstrosity was unveiled it was at least a finished product and has since been driven on public roads.

it's "damaged".
Well, it wouldn't be surprising if it was. I mean, it's still quite easy to damage the plastic they use in cheap touchscreen phones, and this looks like it's very large 90€ Huawei.

But now the car is covered cause it's "damaged"...

...the eyes of passers-by?

Partial meltage? Those stand lights can get pretty toasty.

I'm just looking at it again and it literally looks like as if it came from the container store
Cut the top off and stick a mattress on it!

And those wheels... They honestly look so aftermarket and... er, generic.
