I ended up clearing my Thursday afternoon and got my Z4 M a day early :)

Friday morning...

It was umm... cold on Friday.

Earlier this afternoon. It 'warmed up' to about 36 F. Good enough to put the top down anyway.

Overcast skies .. not very good photo taking weather.

Heated M Sport seats = GOOD. THING.

197 miles = 1053 miles until break in is over. :indiff:

Initial impressions: stiff clutch, stiff shifter, hard seats, unforgiving ride... I love it. That's about it for now... and I'm off to find some more excuses to drive it.

I see no pictures.... Does anyone else?

Wow M-Spec, I didn't know it was going to a M.... Very fitting. Now change your name to M Driver. :D

Looks nice!

They've become a common site at Classic though, but I like it more than the M Coupe. Congrats!

What BMW is this one joining?

Sick ride man. Any reason why you opted for the open top version than the coupe? I like the lines of the coupe better, but they're both beautiful.:)

Sorry guys, I put them up in the Mod Only forum first, thinking I'd just link the ones already there. I forgot you guys wouldn't be able to see anything from there. :dunce:

Should be all fixed.. any red x's left?

Thanks for the compliments, guys. :)

I thought I was going to get a 3.0si at first. I would have maybe changed my name to "Z-Spec" or something. But they had this 'left-over' 2006 no one bought and they made me an awesome deal on it, so now I can just keep the name.

What BMW is this one joining?

It replaces the 330i ZHP. I loved that car, but no one was ever in the back seats anyway, so I figured I'd just get a 2 seater. We still have the Murano for carting the kids around.

I love driving with the top down. So does the wife :) I love the Coupe too, but if I have to have a car that only seats two and can barely carry enough luggage for 2 people on a weekend, then it had better be a roadster 👍

Congrats on a very cool car M-Spec. Good choice of colour too 👍.

I knew it! You can't prove you own that seemingly abandoned warehouse! No pic with you and your username next to the building! I'm calling your bluff, M-Boy...Nice car, though. It's one of the few Bangle-cars I can stand the sight of; but I always wondered why it took BMW so long to do an ///M-version of it.

So why did you wait until leaving Florida to get one...'Fraid of a little redneck retaliation?

Congrats on the Purcahse ///M-Spec, looks great love the colour (Though I personally prefer the coupe).

A friend of mine has a 2.5 Z4 (got a good deal on it before the M versions), I wish he had that!

Go-juss, boy, jus' go-juss. I'm very envious, even of the car you traded in, let alone this one! Congratulations!

It's nice, I guess, but I think you could have done better. I mean, it doesn't even have an automatic transmission or a back seat. You were fleeced, my friend.

And worst of all, he didn’t get iDrive! What good is a car without iDrive? :irked:

Sweet ride, but surely the unforgiving ride doesn't come as a shock.

This is 2007, it's sporty.

That's a wonderful buy M-Spec, congratulations. Every time I see a picture of these I'm reminded how much better looking these are than normal Z4s. It's all in the details.

Plus, the roadster looks so much nicer than the coupe...

Thanks again for all the compliments. You guys are too kind.

So why did you wait until leaving Florida to get one...'Fraid of a little redneck retaliation?

Damn good question. I guess the only reason was because I was 'stuck' in the 330. I bought it because I had this utterly bizzare notion of having a practical car.. you know since I had become a semi-responsible family man and all...

But then one day I realized that since we got the wife her Nissan Murano, the only thing I carried in the back of the 330 was lint. Seriously, I can probably count the number of times we used my car to go somewhere as a family on one hand since we got the Nissan.

..So I heard about the raging deals on the '06 Ms and ... here I am.

I know :indiff: But I did get them to agree on a set of curb feelers installed at cost. And it comes with this cool landau top...

No, not a shock at all. It's not my first M and the even the 330 had the M-Sport suspension option. But of all the Ms I've driven, this one has the least compliant ride. I would say its slightly stiffer than the M3 and on par with a base Evo VIII.

Of course, I wouldn't complain. That's sort of the point.

Very very nice. Congrats on the new ride and thanks for sharing the pictures!! I really like that color blue. 👍

I like it in blue, and the M stitching on the wheel is very nice.

One question: What rubber is on it, Pirellis?

In the US, all Z4 M Coupes and Roadsters come on ContiSportContacts, apparently. I'm not sure about other markets.

It is a *very* mediocre tire, practically 2 generations behind the PS2 and one of the few disappointments of this car. Continental must practically be giving these away to manufactures for free or something. I can't wait until I get some PS2s.

You're a nice guy, ///M-Spec, so I sincerely hope you enjoy the car 👍, but I can't say I am much a fan of them.

I am sure it has awesome BMW responsiveness/handling, but the styling is just too attention grabbing for my tastes.

M, do you happen to have a big wallpaper sized cersion of your third picture--the one looking down the side of your car, next to the wall? That's a really good picture. It looks like it has great quality in the small size, and I wouldn't mind using it as a wallpaper. Thank you if you can upload a big one!

Thanks 👍 I totally understand about the styling. It ain't for everyone, no question about that.

Sure. The original high-rez version is at the office at the moment. I'll upload it tomorrow morning. The buildings at the end of the alleyway aren't too much to look at, though...

Are they the 'run-flats' that BMW are insisting on putting on all cars or do 'M' get their own way with tyre choice?

^That's what I was wondering too, so many BMW reviews I've seen in magazines here complain about those run-flats.
