Tried out another one of your tunes yesterday, namely the Car of Tomorrow. I guess it was not tested on the M&M Camry but in short - it works there as well. I bought the car for the online challenge, where (unmodified) I placed it fifth - much to do with my driving to be fair (with the DS3, and none too fine a motoric control at the best of times, I did see quite a bit of grass). I later used the car in the A Spec NASCAR series and managed wins in the first four rounds without much trouble but came a disappointing 12th on both tries at Daytona.
I then let my lvl 22 B Spec driver do the honours yesterday in the NASCAR series (lvl22) to see how he would do with your tune. If I have the time today, I will try it out myself. First things first, he easiy won both the Indy and the Daytona circuits, the latter one with something like 8 seconds over the second placed car, which is a lot I suppose. While he seemed to brake much too heavily for corners on ovals previously (had serious trouble with him winning an Indy with the 908HDI previously, in spite of crushing the competition with the same car in A spec) he actually did a fair bit of overtaking in these corners with your setup. So in that respect, and for ovals, job well done. 👍
He also managed to crush the opposition on the High Speed Ring easily enough - it looked as if his car was simply in a higher league.
Now to the final two ones, GVS and Laguna Seca. The feedback for here might somewhat depend on the type of B Spec driver (I honestly do not know - mine is a fairly cool one generally) and it is obviously not definite, until I try it out myself. The massive problem here was rear tyre wear. The B Spec races here last for 8 laps on GVS and 10 on Laguna Seca and in both cases the tyres were shot well before. At GVS Bob was running in third in the fourth lap, when the rears gave way completely on the S bends after the third tunnel. When he finally decided it was safe to reverse out of the barriers, he was more than 15 secs behind 11th place, after pitting this was much, much more. However, once fresh tyres were on and no competitors around, he seemed to oversteer a lot less and was making up time in leaps and bounds. Finally he finished fourth, within a nanosecond of third place and could have done better, had I pitted him on round 3 already (but then I did not expect it to be necessary so soon). Again, I want to try it myself, before posting a conclusion on it.
In the end, the situation was similar at Laguna Seca, only slightly less severe - but with worse consequences as a result. Tyre wear was heavy and while he was a solid third and within grasp of the overall win, he started having real trouble on lap 9. He lost two places and then (before I could stop him) decided to pit. He could make up some time but with only one lap to go, it was impossible to compensate for a pitstop, so he came dead last
Again, not saying there is anything wrong with the setup - the car really flew when the tyres were good but the wear was simply murderous the way Bob was driving. Overall the three other wins were enough for him to gold the series
I do not know if it is the Camry, or the driver but maybe a slightly 'stabler' setup would work better for road courses with B Spec drivers. It is not that the oversteer really cost time but the tyre wear and consequent pitting certainly did. I will try and do the same courses with the Car of Tomorrow on A Spec today but unfortunately these run over fewer laps. Feedback from that to follow 👍
