Does anyone know of a truly comprehensive Easter egg list - most I've seen seem to have petered out and the rest are re-posts of the same five.

So, I know about:

Spoiler

1. The map of Australia and where the game takes place in Chumbucket's hideout
2. The Airplane bit where Chumbucket says "Yes, and don't call him Shirley"
3. The Dying Light reference: the container with a painted gift-wrap bow on it.
4. The Just Cause character as a skeleton hanging from his snagged parachute, his grapple-line still attached to a car.
5. The War Rig from Fury Road
6. The lost tribe reference from Beyond the Thunderdrome
7. Dinky-Di dog food also from Beyond the Thunderdrome

For one, I haven't seen any mention of Chumbucket's cry of "Freedom!" from Braveheart.
Half-life 3 is apparently referenced, but I'm not so sure about that, not having found the reference myself - a number 3 on the side of a container though, isn't really conclusive enough for me.

@MeanElf I think you can find a complete list on reddit and youtube. When I play the game I don't pay attention to those things. I've seen number 5 because of a mission and that's where I recognized it.

Have you almost done the main story?

Not sure @doblocruiser that is to say I haven't checked the story progress. I've been playing for almost four full days according to the save file and there are two regions I still haven't touched yet; one in the NW of Pink Eye's region and Deep Friah's and of course Gastown itself - so maybe that's three.

Yeah, I saw a few YT vids in my search list, but to be honest I can't stand the way most YT gaming videos just drone on, lovin' the sound of their own voice - or the IGN style of bright, shouty and pointless 'news' type vids...so I don't bother. Thanks anyway.

4 full days damn.. As soon as you hit Deep Friah you have done 2/3 of the story. Make sure you play it through, it's worth it and there are some nice story missions to be done.

Oh, I intend to. The story missions so far have been varied and fun. I have opened Deep Friah's, at least I drove through the north tunnel last night before doing a sharp U turn...going to enter via the dunes today though - seems a safer bet.

Glad I'm not alone in my distaste for YT.

Thanks once more though it was only me using the boost and quickly capturing it, as that creates a special colour-shift and tunnel focus effect...so not really me

Yes, like you I decided to go for it at one point and ended on five days sixteen hours. The ending I found to be a bit of a surprise - it fit the character but it wouldn't be popular in Holywood: but there again, who really cares about that?

Yeah it found it surprising as well. After that my map seem to have exploded with stuff to do. There are really hours and hours before all should be done. Not sure if I will clean up everything but it will bring for sure another couple of hours of great gameplay

Oh, for sure - interestingly, I got caught in a two hour storm last night - it started with the Crow Caller mission and just didn't stop...so yeah, I have more pictures for later

I do love these meteoric destruction shots.

Still slowly working through the challenges and tidying things up when I came across a whale graveyard - quite haunting as the background music changed, becoming a single call of whale song.

I also thought with all of the big bones gathered there in one place that it reminded me of the film Pitch Black, so I cranked up the filters and exposure to emulate it. I probably should have gone more with sepia or blue

I really gotta go back and finish Mad Max when I have time. Fun game and amazingly beautiful - the screenshots in this thread are really some of the most stunning I've seen from any game (including others with a dedicated photo mode).

Just one more challenge to complete now: the head-on-smash one - it's been a lot of driving around, I can tell you. 6 days and 16 hours or 160 hours in total.
