Anyone have some time right now to go online and take a few photos with me? You'll need either a Citroen 2CV or a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.

In case you can't guess, this week's theme involves French cars. I'll have the details up later today.

Week 2's theme is here (week 3 really, but who's counting), and comes just in time for the new Physics update. Try out this variety of French cars at Silverstone, the final track of the 2010 Le Mans series, where Peugeot dominated with it's 908 HDi FAP, leading to their overall victory in the series. Or head to the other end of the spectrum with the Citroën 2CV, one of the most memorable French cars ever created. If neither of those tickle your fancy, try one of several famous French rally cars, or some classics created by Alpine or Hommell.

Get practicing! I'll be updating things as usual, with a more accessible calculator sometime on Friday. As long as you've gotten some times written down by Saturday, you should be all set. If it's absolutely necessary, I'll be able to do calculations on the fly once we're racing, so don't worry too much about that. Just run some laps in some cars and show up on Saturday. :)

Also keep in mind that if you don't feel like shelling out a few million credits, the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP and Renault Megane R.S. Trophy are both courtesy cars that you won't necessarily have to buy. I've bought the Matmut 908 for two reasons: I like the paint scheme, and I didn't realize it was a courtesy car. :D

Special thanks to @Famine for helping me with take this photo for the banner.

(If anyone wants to correct my French, feel free)

Looks cool, but I doubt I'll make it, I'll be out all day tomorrow and don't know what time I'll be home, most likely midnight EDT.

I'm currently trying to get the testing done so we can do this tonight, but I've had some personal problems to deal with lately and I'm not sure I'm up for it. Combined with the fact there hasn't been much interest for tonight, I may postpone or cancel tonight's race.

If even two other people are interested and can make it tonight, I'll be happy to keep going, but otherwise I just don't see it happening.

I'll keep testing for now. But in an hour I'm going to have to decide if it's worth it. It's just too much effort for too small a result when only one or two people show up.

Please post in the thread or send me a message if you want to race tonight (or any other week). I never know what to expect for a turnout and it's a bit frustrating because I sometimes feel like I'm wasting my time. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong. :)

EDIT: I don't think I have enough time tonight for this anyway. As of now, there will be no racing tonight. I'll have to think about whether to try again for next week. When this works, it's some great fun, but because there's no competitive element like there was in GT4, and because it's impossible to time things precicely and fairly, I can see why it's not too popular. If anyone has ideas to make it more appealing, let me know. Otherwise I'm going to have some thinking to do before next week.

Just testing the waters to see if anyone still has any interest in this. We've only had a few races but I already miss it.

I'm thinking either this Saturday or the next, so let me know when you're available.

If anyone's against the French car theme, feel free to mention it, I have other ideas floating around, including recreating the races from GT4, which might be fun.

Any suggestions on how to keep this running, gather interest, or otherwise make this more fun, please let me know, and voice any concerns you may have, as I know it can be annoying to prep and calculate everything.

I am still interested.

France vs Germany opens a silly can of Magic Worms - Kubelwagen, Mercedes, RUFs vs 2CV, RenaultSport, Peugeot, etc.

I've created a club in GT6 for those who are interested in this series. The club would give me the ability to record people's times and calculate their delays and such for them. Members would only be required to run time trials for the cars they wish to use, and I would post the required delays in a google spreadsheet for easy access. I may consider keeping track of results as well, though of course without precise timings, results wouldn't be too meaningful.

In any case, if there is anyone still interested in running this event, search "magic" in the clubs section and you should find it. Join there and feel free to respond to this thread to give me an idea of the interest remaining. Hopefully since it will be much easier to run the event, more people will be willing to give it a try.
