Makeshift Shuffle - No Tuning RacesOpen

*sigh* - another week seems to be just slipping away on me. If only the time before 5pm moved so swiftly! :irked:

So you can put that silly wing on the cab of the Tacoma... but they don't let you paint the Land Rover?? :boggled: Thanks PD! Good job! :odd:

Also I have updated Post #2. ;)

 Yeah that does seem silly doesnt it

Indeed. Perhaps if Thursday goes well, someone else would feel capable enough to take control of Tuesday's races.

I'm also willing to take track suggestions for Thursday: write 2 you would like and 1 that you do not want. I'll try to accommodate everyone's wishes in some way at least.

This thread disappeared from my 'Alerts' again... :grumpy:

Thursday at the old time? I'm in.

I always, always like Laguna Seca and the Nordschleife.
Nothing I really hate but not a fan of London unless the cars are really slow.

If enough people are interested in the Tuesday slot I could be persuaded to host that.

Alternatively, I'm also interested in is how people would feel about a Sunday event at the same/similar time as Saturday's. Would be easier to accomodate both the New World and Old World racers -- on the other hand, people (or their spouses/family/etc) might not want to clutter up their weekend with too much racing (is that even a thing?). Personally, the intensity of Sunday Morning's VCRC races always makes me want some slightly more casual events afterwards to 'cool down.'

Sunday could work. I'd be in for that.

@daddyo845 I assume when you write Cape Ring and Big Willow you mean all the variations of each? Big willow and Streets of Willow are really separate tracks. Just clarifying.

I like all configurations of cape ring. When I said big willow I meant just the main track not the streets of willow although I'm pretty bad at both of them.

Some good racing today. Highlight for me was probably Laguna Seca with @amarynceos. Great job. (Although the last corner at the bonus race would be a close second in terms of moments!)

Anyway, with it being Daylight Saving time...I think we will keep the event on Thursday the same time in Europe, so consequently the races will move to 3-5pm EST. Is this okay for everyone?

At the end of the month wouldn't it go back 2 est because Europe switches the clocks at the endo of the month I believe

Hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. 👍

Yeah that was fun at Laguna. I could see you closing every lap but I just couldn't wring any speed out of that Jag with that ^%&ing automatic transmission... engine note is my number one indicator for when to release the brake and when to pick up the throttle (as I figure it is for most people) so when a car goes silent on the downshifts, like the Jag, it completely scuppers my rhythm. At most other tracks I would have been dead meat a lot sooner. :sly:

12 PST is fine for me.

Did'n new you race Thursday too! What time and who host the event if I may ask?

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME AGAIN :grumpy::boggled::irked:

Okay... so we have to schedule the rest of the Saturdays now the rest of the month, until Europe adjusts to DST too.

My proposal for Saturday, because of my schedule constraints with Saturday evenings I can't do 2:30pm to 4:30pm US EDT (ie: 6:30pm - 8:30pm GMT). It would already run into family plans on the 22nd, for example.
In other words, I realize now I CANNOT just shift the US time. At least not for the whole month.

If you are planning to race SATURDAYS...
please let me know how this works for you.

So for the 15th, 22nd, & 29th (Saturdays).
(when BST is about to come into effect at the end of the month we can re-assess - but this is for the next 3 saturdays)

CHOICE A:

Saturday 15th, 22nd, & 29th March 2014
17:00 UTC (GMT Zulu time)
01:00pm - 03:00pm US EDT / 05:00pm - 07:00pm GMT

CHOICE B:

Saturday 15th, 22nd, & 29th March 2014
17:30 UTC (GMT Zulu time)
01:30pm - 03:30pm US EDT / 05:30pm - 07:30pm GMT

CHOICE C:

Saturday 15th, 22nd, & 29th March 2014
18:00 UTC (GMT Zulu time)
02:00pm - 04:00pm US EDT / 06:00pm - 08:00pm GMT

If you're good with them all, say so and then just say your preference.
If any are IMPOSSIBLE for you, definitely speak up.

(Note: The issue here for me is that I will need to absolutely be finished up (with the ps3 shut down) by 4:15pm US EDT / 8:15pm GMT / 20:15 UTC)
