Finished, but it took me long enough!! Buy everything except the rollcage, brake balance controller, and turbo kit (intercooler you DO need, though)

Runs R2 tires.

Set final to 4.100, autoset 13. Set ratios to [2.320/1.690/1.290/1.000/0.800/0.622] final is 5.140

LSD: 50/25/5

This car is stable, and decently balanced, but it has a tendency to sneak a little oversteer up on you. Only in low-speed, long turns (2nd gear), however. The low gearing helped this greatly, but it's still there. Take it around Amalfi with a final-drive of 2.730, and slow up for the corners to ~50MPH, keep it floored around the corner, and the car starts coming out from under you. Other than that, it corners well, with no oversteer that'll kill you.

Truthfully, though: This car doesn't do anything perfect, nor does it do everything well. Want an FR? Get an RX-7/8. Want a bahn burner? Get a Skyline. Or a Viper with 1000hp. A wing would help it, as would gripper tires, but its just too violent for anything BUT wide-open, no-corner tracks with full power, and torque comes on too suddenly and too strongly to be truly EFFECTIVE at this power level. It's done, it's decent, but I sure as heck don't have to like it. Very many cars work better than it.

GEARING:

Adjust final drive for each track, 5.000 gives approx. 150mph top speed and decent gearing for low-speed stages as well. (I use 2.32/1.69/1.29/1.00 on all my cars, 6-speeds get .800 5th and .622 6th.)

Corners decent, and is dead-on with gearing so wheelspin rarely occurs. Takes the already great cornering Miata and makes it better. Better tires, and it = slot car. Tell me what you think!

Buy it ALL, but leave the stock exhaust, no cage, and level 2 weight reduc.
200KG ballast, in the trunk
Ratios: Set final to 3.73, autoset to 14. Now set gear ratios at [2.32/1.69/1.29/1.00/0.8/0.622], and final to 4.000

I may change the ratios to lengthen 1st/2nd a bit, but I'm happy with the 3.4 ratio overall 5th. It has a problem with unloading the rear tires at bad times over bumps/dusty spots on the track in second, a problem I did not notice with steeper gears (On R1's for testing, because I want it controllable). (I had done some experimenting with a taller final to see if it would help the straights, but it didn't.)

Aids: None at all, toss TCS to 3 if you drive with a controller or have a right foot that is always up or down, as well as for when B-spec Bastard drives. TCS is not needed for use with R3 tires unless BSB is driving.

Notes: The car has a noticeable rear-high rake sitting still/coasting, but the tail squats (and the nose comes up a little) under acceleration, and the tail winds up lower than the nose. Downforce drops along with drag to help with straight line performance. (Pesky high-power reciprocals!)

For my driving style, the car seems to meld with you; it becomes one with you. A 787 with R5 tires might actually compete with the FGT for best cornering honors. And of course, it's a rotary, it's fast, and you can't make it look ugly in either available livery. (Black or the orange and green Reknown livery.)

Notes: I like the way this car turned out. Completely neutral, never vicious, and the brakes will save you every time. I fly into the section at the end of Dottinger Hohe like I do with no other car, and slam the brakes at 130-140 where most cars would need to be going 80-90 to brake enough. Capable of sub-8 minute times @ the Ring. Be kind to the throttle in 1st, it likes to light the tires up a little bit.

I'm working out a Supra RZ with full power and R2 tires (I'm that cheap. If I can make it good on crap tires, I am positive that it's good on better tires.)

Very interesting stuff but are you saying here that R2s are crap tyres?

If that's the case I'm going to have to disagree in rather a large way. Tune a high power car and make it drivable on N2 or N3 and people might buy your argument about it then being good on better tyres, but R2s are grippy enough to hide a range of problems all by themselves.

Ok, but if I wanted to make a crap setup good, I'd just toss R5's and call it a day. R2's are the second-worst racing tires, and are much cheaper than R3s. I admit to R2s being somewhat too grippy for absolute accuracy, but as I saw it, they ARE one of the most effective upgrades one can make, being cheap at 10K, and a good bit grippier than stockers.

I'll prolly start tuning with N3s on the next car, so... But the final tune will include R2s.

Oh I don't disagree that tyres are one the single best upgrades you can have, simply that in the scheme of things R2's are far from poor tyres.

Notes: Somehow, this car manages to slow itself down in a straight line; Acceleration is poor for such a light car, especially one with over 400hp. Going to taller ratios does not help it, rather it gets slowed down. Despite the seeming utter LACK of power, cornering is awesome for an econobox with front and rear facias, a wing, and a hot powertrain with 250hp stock and AWD.

So, cornering is killer, but acceleration is not what it should be.

Notes: This car will work at sub-450hp levels on S grade tires very well, but adding downforce will help the car on these tires as it's easy to overdrive it at the limit at 400hp. It'll stay happy on R1's all the way up to full power, but wheelspin can be a problem in first. Hope you like the balance.

Extras: Racing brakes and balance controller: Set the balance controller to 5/5 for R-grade tires, revert to fully stock brakes on S grades.

Downforce: Untested, but should make this into the ultimate supercar whopster. Cornering would give a good Group C a run for its money.

Well, a bit of advisement would be appreciated.
