Manual clutch broken after 1.58?

I find the manual clutch no longer works as previous.

Even on cars w default manual, the trans behaves like the racing manual - no clutch and rev matching. Neutral is no longer indicated even if the trans is in neutral

Previous if you activated the clutch on the first shift, the clutch would be enabled and required. If not then not needed.

Unless the start window has changed where the first shift is detected - I tried various - shift during autodrive, after handover, in gear, in neutral

Manual is set in assists, controller cal screen show clutch and shifter functioning correctly. Car and track choice independent so far - Eiger and Forest in some old 911s

Restart and toggle AT/MT no change

Anyone else or something w me? Fanatec gear - no changes and all functioning correctly

Tested My First GT and all was fine. But GT7 still bugged w no clutch racing manuals regardless

Deleted and reinstalled GT7. This fixed it - but only for a while

Ran some sessions on the Grand Valley Historic masters which is pretty much all MTs except some of the muscle cars

4 sessions different cars all stock, no mods even installed but not active

1 & 2 fine, 3rd one glitched once at the start but was then ok. 4th one was bugged. Tested the 1st car and it was now bugged

3.17 mi x 5 laps - don’t know if its a mileage thing, number of shifts or what - its like some setting gets flipped and then stuck

But reinstall every 60 mi is not the answer. Any other ideas?

I really enjoy the road cars and drive a MT IRL

Just ran some laps with some stock MT cars with my TH8A and it seems to work as before.

Previous if you activated the clutch on the first shift, the clutch would be enabled and required. If not then not needed.

I don't tend to use this functionality, at any point if you use the clutch, you have to use it unless you use one of your paddles.

Any chance your controller is resting on a a button that's been mapped to a gear change?

no controller active at all, I start PS manually and then use the wheel PS button, but maybe one of the wheel shifters is the issue? I’ll have to retest w a different wheel

Yes I know the clutch start process

Issue occurs after running some distance or number of shifts or ?. Not an issue prior to last update as I run a lot of MT - after fresh install it works until it doesn’t - which was 3-4 events - 45-60 miles in one sitting.

Don’t know if that’s cumulative or just per active sitting but just a few laps won’t show it if not a lot of MT time recently

Running wheel, 3 pedals and shifter - clutch reads correctly in the controller setup under options - no controller active at all, I start PS manually and then use the wheel PS button

Hmmm, I tried the Muira, the old Challenger, The 205GTi and the M3 to complete my daily mileage at the ring and I had no issues. N shows when out of gear, missed shifts work and I can stall it. Works when switching between clutch, clutchless manual, and paddles.

Tried a different wheel. Restarted PS5 and wheel base. Right from the start same result - no clutch recognition - just auto clutch mode w throttle blip, like the racing manual box. So its not the HW. Same FW for months now

Doing another delete and reinstall to see if its predictable - hours😤

Perhaps a firmware update might fix your issues? Seem to recall I had an issue with my shifter at one point and a wheel firmware update fixed it, not sure though.

And would I be correct in saying your shifter is connected directly to your wheel instead of a USB connection to the console?

Firmware is up to date 464, as 465 is just new product. Shifter has been connected to base. Issue is with the CLUTCH in game, not the shifter. The game and wheel and fanatec ctrl panel all display the correct shift positions, and the clutch is correctly recognized in game options controller setup and fanatec ctrl panel

As I said previous works fine in My First GT so its not the HW

Deleted and reinstalled the game

Drove 80 miles in Route X TT, constant speed top gear so minimal shifts, but clutch working fine, neutral showing between shifts

Exited and retried and its back to clutch not detected. Gears shift according to the stick postion - just no clutch or neutral

So whatever is causing is distance dependant
