Manual-Only drivers post here

Whats retarded is you carrying on in post 85, I said before if you were being sarcastic fair enough but you just had to carry on. You keep saying you understand what he meant, so why go on about it. daan said he didn't contradict himself because it was clear what he meant. You could have eneded this if you actually wanted to but instead you, thats YOU carried on instead of saying ok cool, I've said you've taken my post out of context because it was sarcasm so thats that.

You keep telling me what Im doing wrong, but YOU and others are only trying to explaine the obvious, over and over again & getting rude to me about carying on. My defence against the BS is taken as "Carying on" YOU are the one who is " carrying on" Im simply replying to your in my defense, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREATCH, and MOVE ON!!!! If you keep talking smack, your just instigating with a big head, and ignorent about it.

So far what we have determined is Famin miswrote something then Got Rude about my misunderstanding it, and your constant telling me what Im doing wrong.

As all ive been doing is REPLYING to people who keep pointing out the obvious like they want a medal for it.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

You didn't let anyone reply to you saying you were taken out of context. No sooner had you said that, you were replying to posts made before your post saying it's all a missunderstanding. Kind of pointless to do, you wait until the people have read your post and replied to it, I tihnk you'll find both Famine and daan would be happy to say fair enough, but you haven't given them a chance to and instead carried on before they replied.

rovens
Well this is the last time i have a point of view, look what i started.
You haven't done anything wrong mate. You'll always find people agreeing and dissagreeing with you also you're not the first to bring up the idea of locking cars to manual or auto in the game depending on the real cars transmission, it is a popular idea, check the GT5 forums for what people would like to see in the next GT game.

I wasn't moaning, i meant to put a comical smilie at the end of that post.

So heres 2 to make up for that and lighten the mood.

I dont know what your talking about, as they both have ample time, Daan especially.

But you keep on talking to me like I have a problem. Dude, in the senerio I was right, I dont have a Problem, But still yet to hear fron Dann.

Like I said, you keep pushing this by instigating it with these type of post, instead of practicing what your preaching and DROP IT. I have already, you keep following up with another post about what Im doing wrong, thats NOT DROPPING IT AND MOVING ON, ITS INSTIGATING!!! It like telling someone to F there mother then getting suprise when they knock your teeth in. If you keep telling me what Im doing wrong (#1 it defines ignorence as your doing what your telling me Im doing wrong) Im going to reply.

Wow, the sad epitome of much of the internet's forums(a load of people all agreeing on a certain topic) turns into a flamefest!

Good job!

Team Quick, the Auto only cars in GT have less gears than a manual transmission.
I will add another example from GT3, the Lexus IS200, only 4 speeds in the transmission which means its an auto.
In game you can shift using the buttons as per a manual, but you can also manually select gears in real life in an automatic transmission using the gear lever. GT does not model the shift accurately but it is still automatic.
One point I want to comment on is that in Australia most cars sold new are optioned with the Automatic Transmission. Finding a used car with a manual transmission is very hard.
The Holden Commodore sedan is Automatic only apart from the Sports Models where manual is an option( SV6 & SS).
I drive a manual and an auto in real life. The modern autos are pretty good and the sales figures reflect that here in Australia.

I prefer using manual in the game, but sometimes I get better results with the Auto, (license tests at the ring I have golded using auto).
Driving a manual does not make you better than an auto driver.
I agree that manuals should be raced at the track because of the benifits it offers.
But only a small minority race at a track.
You all heard of Bathurst race. Several times cars with auto transmissions entered.

"Powerglide" was a Option in 54 http://www.rogerscorvette.com/specs/54.htm

LIKE I SAID, it was a option, although nobody paid the $178 extra to get it.

So agreed there was none sold as manual. but the option was always there.

"Powerglide" was an automatic gearbox.

The site you quoted: "313 Powerglide Automatic Transmission 3,640 178.35"

"Although the Powerglide transmission was listed as a $178 option, no 1954 Corvette was ever shipped with a manual transmission."

Reading comprehension for you again - the site is saying that, despite the fact that the Powerglide automatic was listed as an option, no car came with a manual.

So, so far you've misinterpreted rovens, me AND a site you're using as corroborative evidence and tried to start two internet arguments based on what's in your head and not what's in reality. Take a little time to read things over and perhaps you'd get into fewer fights online. 'kay?

TeamQuick
HE NEEDS TO PROOF READ WHAT HE WRITES BEFORE HE POST

TeamQuick
PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREATCH

Go you! Work on YOUR reading and writing abilities first before you tell anyone else that their's isn't up-to-scratch.

And my name has an "e" on the end, like yours has a "3" in the middle of it and a capital "X" on the end.

First off Uncle Harry. Congradulations on proving a point Im NOT disputing. I dont know how good yalls reading comprehention is BUT I aknowledged there are a few cars sold as Auto's Only in the real world that are in the game, and I explian My opinion as To why I dont think they will impliment it. And ZThe AT Option IS NOT using automatic dynamics, even if there are only 4 gears in the Box

And A auto where you can force the transimiton to stay in any gear with the [D] [1] [2] options, this still isnt shifting or even coming close to Manual.

And Famin, 1 option was 2 speed Manual the other was auto, manual was never opted, but Still an option, though I love the way you play with the sites vagueness.

NOW the the 54's tranny is NOT what was debated and argued about. Shesh (shakes his head in pitty)!!!!! BUT the Powerglide was a ADD ON OPTION TO THE MANUAL!!!!!!! So even though I misinterpreted the $178 being attached to the "Manual" its attached to the OPTION of the Powerglide auto, PROVING Im correct, and the Manual was there, but they were never sold with it. Famin(ha ha) = owned.

Reguardless of that though the argument wasnt over the 54 vette. Its the fact famin(ha ha) wrote that 3 cars APEARED IN THE GAME AS AUTOMATICS ONLY. Then the fact DAAN said he Didnt say that. and the harry battle of nonsence continued over this for a few pages, untill Some people grew up and moved on, then a few spark it up again, GooD Show of maturity (Roll eyes).

So the Whole argument was over that BS, dont get it clouded with the 54 vette and weather or not there are a few cars in the game that were sold in the real world as only auto, AS I AGREED & AKNOLEDGEDTHAT THERE WERE SOME CARS IN THE GAME ONLY AVAILIBLE IN AUTO IN THE REAL A LONG TIME AGO & Continue to prove Famin(ha ha) wrong about the 54 vette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owned??????Please!!!!!!

Why dont YOU proof read what you write, as OUR argument was really over what YOU miss wrote in your Post!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember "these 3 cars apear in the GT series as Automatic only cars." Who needs to go back to english class???

Or wait, in your post you say I "misinterpreted" You

What did you mean by "these 3 cars apear in the GT series as Automatic only cars." Because if you ment they are sold in the real world as only Auto but are manual in the game. You need serious HELP because your sentance means you beleve these 3 cars to be in the game as automatic only cars IN THE GAME, when they are NOT DA!!!!!

Lets See, So Far I DIDNT MISSTERPRET YOU (you did say 3 cars apeared in the GT series as automatic only cars), ROVEN (, OR THE SITE (oops the Powerglide was a 178$ add on option to the manual, that still tells us there was a manual) So Famin(ha ha) you're trying to start two internet arguments based on what's in your head and not what's in reality.

So maybe your the one who needs a lesson in comprehention!!!!!!!!!

oooooooooooooo Daan told you I was R3X BFD!

You've misinterpreted MY post, rovens' post and an website you used as corroborative evidence (and no, the Powerglide was an additional automatic option to the standard automatic gearbox. Not in place of a manual, but an upgrade to the extant automatic). The common denominator is YOU.

And I believe I spelled "appear" with both of its "p"s. There's you pesky proof-reading again for you, to go with "PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREATCH" (sic).

What I wrote is in no way contradictory or incorrect - only your interpretation of it is. And daan told me nothing - you posted the same car as your own on both accounts.

NO I CLEARLY READ YOU WRITE "These 3 cars apear in the game as automatic-only cars" Where is the missintepretation you speak of????????

And the Powerglide was a add on option to the MANUAL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!! In 1950 Chevrolet introduced the Powerglide transmission, becoming the first competitor in the low-price field to offer fully automatic shifting. The POWEGLIDE is the "FULLY AUTOMATED" transmition comming out of GM, and they continued to use it as there Automatic tranny for quite some time.

Whoop te do if I misspelled something, it doesnt change the facts Famin(ha ha) = OWNED!!! HAHAHAHA!

TeamQuick
NO I CLEARLY READ YOU WRITE "These 3 cars apear in the game as automatic-only cars"

I didn't write that. For a start I didn't mis-spell "appear".

What's this proof-reading you keep banging on about?

TeamQuick
Where is the missintepretation you speak of????????

The bit where you say that I meant you cannot use them with manual gears in GT, when I meant nothing of the sort and it was your false interpretation of this which has led to your current situation. Misinterpretation - it's quite simple really.

TeamQuick
And the Powerglide was a add on option to the MANUAL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

No, it wasn't. It was an upgrade to the standard automatic. No Corvette before 1955 was ever offered with a manual gearbox. Again, this is your misinterpretation.

TeamQuick
Whoop te do if I misspelled something, it doesnt change the facts Famin(ha ha) = OWNED!!! HAHAHAHA!

Yes, of course I am. It IS quite amusing that you're denigrating me for not proof-reading my posts (falsely) while throwing in numerous spelling, punctuation and grammar errors yourself.

You are truely the fundamental physical particle of more.

Famine
Just to trawl through Gran Turismo's model history for a moment:

Subaru SVX (GT2)
Mazda FD RX-7 Touring X (GT2)
Chevrolet Corvette C1 1954 (GT4) - didn't get a 3 speed manual until 1955.

That's all off the top of my head - if I wasn't sloshed and was actually bothered I might search for more. But nevertheless, these three cars have appeared in the Gran Turismo series as automatic-only cars.

That said, one can select which gear you want to be in on an automatic gearbox at any point, but most people tend to leave it in "D".

YES you did say that even though I misspelled the quote. I say again WHERE IS THE MISSINTERPRETATION?????????

Taking it for whats written, It means you beleve those 3 cars to be in the game as automatic-only cars? Does it not??? HAHAHAHAHA!

& In 1950 Chevrolet introduced the Powerglide transmission, becoming the first competitor in the low-price field to offer fully automatic shifting. The POWEGLIDE is the "FULLY AUTOMATED" transmition comming out of GM, and they continued to use it as there Automatic tranny for quite some time.

The Powerglide was the Auto option up from the other availible transmition that was not fully automated hence MANUAL!!!!!!!!!! Its really quite simple ;)

You continue to demonstrate your lack of comprehention!!Then tell me I have a comprehention issue!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! This is Great Stuff!!

Yes, it doesn't. Correct.

Especially not when taken in conjunction with the first post I made - you know, the one where I had to tell you what rovens had clearly said because you were unable to grasp that either?

TeamQuick

No Corvette was offered with a manual transmission before 1955.

And, for good measure:

not fully automated hence MANUAL

That'll be "comprehension". And you keep telling me to proof-read my posts, yet make numerous basic spelling, punctuation and grammar errors. Back to the more particle again.

All this aside, I suspect you've whipped up this fuss to mask the fact that I clearly showed you three cars in the GT series which were never offered with a manual transmission in real life but can be used manually in Gran Turismo, as per your request and now, sadly, ignored.

Rac3rX/TeamQuick, you're just not learning, and given the quality of your posts, I'd say that learning anything may be an issue for you.

There are more of us than there are of you. You'll get bored before we give up. So just don't bother re-registering; go find a different forum to troll.

Guys shut up... your flaming over something quite stupid.

Some people just can't let other have their own opinion can they?

Anyways, ive recently been playing around with manual gearing, though it would appear that the Ring is not the best place to learn it.

question:
1. you call 4 speed CVT as automatic or manual?
2. you guys change the gear on the same rpm or higher/lower on different gear? ie. 1st on 6500, 2nd on 6700, etc.

1. Good question... I'd say that any gearbox where a computer decides when (not how) to change gear and must be overriden if you want anything different is an automatic.
2. I tend to change slightly lower in higher gears. Why this is escapes me, but I'm going to put some random words in as justification... higher speeds, higher air resistance, torque more important, change lower to be nearer torque peak ahhhhh, screw it.

a cvt with a set number of gears? its not a cvt then...

and i shift whenever i should. i dont pay attention to rpm. i try to do it by sound/speed/track posistion.

Guys...

If it shifts by its self it is Automatic (NO MATTER HOW MANY GEARS!)

If you need to shift it and has 2 or more gears it is Manuel.

I also tend to shift on straights right before red-line (RPM DOES VARY CAR TO CAR, So shifting in one car can be totally different from another). I also use downshifting to slow the car before a turn, (in real life this proves to work great) along with good throttle and brake control.

So, the F1 car must be automatic then, isn't the electronic shift up automatically (shift down is still manual)? and Ferrari with shift paddle included...........
It seems the primary reason for you all using manual because it has more control, right? not because you want to use the most power (hp).

i like to blip the brake while i down shift. i hit them both, let off the brake and then get back on it. drops the speed great. i use the R2 button to shift up and the R1 to shift down. it works great.
