WHY ARE YOU GUYS STILL ARGUING ABOUT PRONOUNCING A SLANG TERM? GOOD GOLLY

Okay, so here's a thought.

Since Zahara is going to be quite a long circuit, doubtless with many many turns, all of which we'll be collectively learning together, at about the same time... perhaps a co-ordinated corner naming effort should be undertaken?

Let's call the first corner Brah

I'm tempted to open an "Unofficial Circuito de la Sierra Corner Names Thread" once the track is released

Someone names any corner they want, maybe a reason with it, if it gets widespread public acceptance, it stays, if not, try again, repeat until every corner has their own name, and then we should start spreading the word, maybe on the biggest Gran Turismo wiki :D

I'll start to prepare the OP right now :D

I think naming all of the corners is going to be a bit of a mission. It should keep us quiet for a bit. Until we break out into conflict over the correct pronunciation of agua roja. :D

What's Spanish for Flugplatz?
Isn't it something of a coincidence (or is it??) that there's a bit of a jump on the Nordschleife next to an old glider (I think) aerodrome? The aerodrome itself is obviously a Flugplatz in German, but there's a literal Platz on the course where one can fliegen just next to it. No really, it's supposed to be a coincidence!

Dibs!! I claim the first corner!!!! Oops sorry, got a little carried away after fighting off a bunch of people trying to claim my racing number in the number plate thread! :mischievous: :D

Lets keep it simple, the first corner can be turn 1, then turn 2, just numerically name them...

I'm thinking that at > 27km, there are likely to be quite a number of turns, and typically people like to use corner names. I'm not suggesting every single bend, but for instance, I can say, "Paddock Hill", "Copse", "130R", "The Karussell", "Eau Rouge", and most people will know what I'm talking about. If I said.. Turn 9 at Motegi for instance, you'd probably have to look at a circuit map, or drive a lap in your head to know which turn I meant -- not so easy if I said turn 93 at Zahara.

On a sixteen-mile track?
"What line do you take through Turn 114?"
"About the same as 59, you have to stay outside so you can dive into the apex on 115."

edit: tree'd
