No, calling an Asian person Asian isn't racist, if I would've called them "chinks" that would've been racist
But you also imply that everyone that works for Sony is Asian, when that's clearly not the case.

I did not imply that. It was more of a general thing. Sony (primarily) is an Asian company. I never once said everyone at Sony is Asian

Implication does not equal confirmation.

Assumption, the mother of all rumours! :)

Very true, but there is a surefire cure for this. It's a mysterious and little known process referred to as communication. Without it, rumor, assumption, and speculation are all we have to fill the deafening void coming from PD.

Stop blaming Sony. Many developers under the Sony umbrella have a very open dialogue with the outside world.
Yes but Sony's the only thing between us and Zahara (assuming Polyphony has submitted it.)

Guys, when he passed 21 cars doesn't mean that PD increased limit from 16 to 22 or this is a PS4 alpha demo or something. This is a rally track, so PS3 will never needs to render 22 cars on the same time. It will never happen, that there will be all 22 cars on the same image/scene/view

Actually, there has been discussion (Can't remember where I read it, unfortunately.) that there will be a 22 car grid for GT7.

I don't understand the talk of gt7 again. It seems that as many have said, cars are falling of the back and new cars appear somewhere in front of you.

Except when has PD ever done that?

Remember that they will be working on the next Gran Turismo too, as well as the additional content for GT6 (which materialises as they see fit, admittedly not the regular flow of content Kaz had talked about).
I'm pretty sure "quantum leap in DLC", and "one new track every month" were SCEA, again.

EDIT: VGTs, maybe, but the year's not over yet; mind you, they've some catching up to do.
So presumably there are many things in development which we simply don't know about. Although we can probably all agree a PR department is definitely not one of those things :P
This does seem to be PD's MO at the moment. Hey, if you don't announce your features, other devs can't "steal" 'em until you've released 'em! Let's just hope what they're working on is worth stealing, or, better, worth my playing. :)

You know, it really amazes me that some of you actually stayed on GTPlanet and waited for something that was probably never going to come this week to begin with. I feel the hype train was already derailed since Wednesday, as I see disappointments, fustrations and all that just by reading the posts in this thread.

Ask for PD. They SERIOUSLY need to start communicating with their fans now, and they (if they do) shouldn't restrict themselves to neither side of its fanbase, especially Kaz. To prevent us and anybody on the internet from going into heavy speculation about something they leaked or whatever, they need to start confirming saying, I don't know, just say the track isn't releasing this week and it will release at some point later this month. That is all they need to say, but it looks like even that is too hard for them... The reason why PD even gets blamed is because they don't say anything that isn't their fault, but they don't seem to care if they do get blamed anyway sooo...

Don't want to sound rude or anything, but I honestly wonder why some still hold hope in this company. GT fans shouldn't be going through all this drama, because it's wrong and I really do feel sorry for them (even myself). This really isn't right.

EDIT: Not trying to start a argument btw, because I hate them.

Upon launch we were told we were going to be getting monthly DLC of cars and tracks but it has yet to arrive yet. When do you expect it to come out?

KazunoriAMA[S] 58 points 2 months ago

I think there might be a misunderstanding there. I think I said "almost" every month. I also didn't say "DLC" per se, but that there would be an update almost every month.

On average we're going through one to two updates per month. So I don't think I have broken any promises. I think somewhere along the lines someone may have contorted my words. When you talk about things like Vision Gran Turismo as an example, we have over 30 cars that are going to be involved in that project and that was to be included in a year's time. So when you look at it, my saying that there would be content released almost every month is not too far from the truth.

But the Vision Gran Turismo cars, each car is made with great care at each of the manufacturers, and we can't control when those cars can be completed. So I ask for your understanding.

It was Taku Imasaki who said "there will be at least 1 track a month downloadable, additional tracks" in this video interview:

Shiro: Yeah, because those designers are SO lazy. (joke)

I can't even remember myself, time to do a bit of digging.........

........yep you are right, quantum leap and 1-per-month come from SCEE CEO and US GT producer respectively. Figures!

That said, whilst I wouldn't claim PD have made that quantum leap, the DLC they have released this year has been incredibly novel, a fair bit beyond your standard car and track packs. The partnerships with Goodwood, the Senna Institute and everyone associated with VGT for instance. Most of it has not come quick, but that hasn't made any of it no less interesting imo.

Very true - hopefully all their top secret classified tech "sounds" delightful! :P

It's natural for things to be stirred up when you have some people playing pretend CSI (has anyone nailed down the algorithm to predict PD's day-of-the-week release schedule yet? :P ). For people who take the "drama" to heart.........well they'll probably have school in the morning and life will go on! ;)

Edit: Ooops, double posted-ed. Sorry!

Aye, don't call em lazy monkeys we're even lucky we got 11 updates. Now go back to watching Adventure Time and complaining about arcade mode.
But but, currently Adventure Time is on hiatus and delay.....

......Just like PD announcement.

If you're labeling yourself as such, why are you still here? You guys always rant on about how other games have better physics yet you're still here playing GT for what reason?

You don't seem bothered about online since you want tire wear on offline-mode, so it can't be that keeping you here.
What keeps me with GT is that I do not have a gaming PC.
Last time I had to choose between PC and PS3, and like a real GT fan I chose PS3 only for Gran Turismo.
But that was a big mistake which I will not repeat.
