You're going about this the wrong way.

Number One, it takes a while to gain weight. Especially for someone like you. It seems as if you have a high motablalism, and the only way to over come this is to let it work for you. Eat like it's cool, but eat the right things. Instead of eating a whole chocolate cake, pound down some pasta or some meat and potatos.

Remember carbs and protien are your best friends for the next few months.

You also don't and I REPEAT DO NOT, want to eat and then sit down. Eat wait about an hour and then hit the weights, do a ton of push ups, do some pull ups do something that is a body building, not fat burning excersize. If you lay around your motabalism is simply going to do what it does best and will eat away at every drop of food you throw at it.

Next, GET SOME SUPPLEMENTS, you apparently don't have the genetic code for a thick physic so change it. Go get some protien shakes and some weight gaining formulas. I live by the GNC code of conduct. "Gain what you need, lose what you don't."

Right now you need that weight so before and after you take the supplements, eat something loaded with carbs and/or protien. You should start to see results in a month or two depending on your body. I can't predict the future but I can give you a good guess.


Just remember man, gaining weight is a process that can't be rushed, it's just as dangerous to rush weight gain as it is to rush weight loss. So take your time, eat right and for Pete's sake lift more than the remote from time to time.

I'm 25 and I've been about 140 lbs. since probably High School. I've given up trying to figure out why I've stayed the same. I fear when I turn 30 though because I fear my metabolism will change and I'll blow up like a ballon like I've heard. :scared:
 
according to the bmi calculator, i probably could stand to gain about 20 lbs in bulk...
18 yrs old, 105lbs, 5'4"
what REALLY blows is i have no time to go to a gym :irked:. Worse still, i've been eating almost only junk food for the past 2 years and haven't gained a pound from it. Back when i *did* have time for workng out, it was mostly cardio stuff like mountain biking. One would expect that it would cause me to lose weight but it never did.

any suggestions for stuff i can do @ home...without going to a gym? I generally do like 25-30 pushups at a time before i go to sleep but that's about it.
 
You should maybe try out some weight gainer concentrates from GNC. They could help you out.

Or, you can have my fat. :D

Friend, unless you are really small-framed, you are nowhere near fat.

You may not fit on some chart that someone thought up. But I'm an old guy, solidly built and only 6-feet tall.
I weigh about 270. I also am the proud owner of a 53-inch chest.
a waist that is a bit larger than I like, but my personal goal weight is under 260. (That's what my KS driver's lisence says I weigh).:D

Thats similar to me. I'm 6'6" and *does some calculating* 209 pounds.

Since december, I have cut out white bread, a coke everyday and a few too many chocs a week I have lost *does some calculating* 9 pounds.
