What are the specs on the car? Does it come with adjustable downforce? I assume it cannot be painted.

This Seasonal isn't hard, but the problem is that the game punishes you even by a small dink on the wall.
Seriously, i did a small bump at the Falken Hairpin (Before the huge straight) and it counted as a fail.
Either way, i golded because i managed to not fail by doing bumps on the wall and some concentration

No Aids.
Pretty good fun. Kind of slippy and drifty at times but balanced and stable when you put your "Race driver" skills to work and a smooth clean lap is gold.

I picked the "Classic 60's Lotus" colour scheme... Would have preferred That shade of Green, but with Gold detail work(Brabham - Australia) or A proper Dark green and Orange detail work for some 60's BRM action.)

Got Rush on DVD today - James Hunt looked more like Tiff "Timothy" Needell to me.

Nothing is modifiable, but everything is adjustable. Max downforce is 400F 900R.

The only things you can buy for it is tires.

PP = 624
Power 590 HP
1,300 Kg
47:53 F:R
5,461 ccs
604 ft-lb
FR

2.20 kg/HP

Apparently the length is 4,820 inches, so a little over 400 feet. (And at 167 feet wide and 92 feet high, so you better plan for a large garage)

Edit: At $2 million, it works out at only $0.32 per cubic foot. Cheaper than bottled water

As it happens I picked the same colour, I was going to paint it black thinking it was paintable like the original VGT but it isn't.

I suspect my choice was subconsciously influenced by memories of my original country's Olympic colors. I love a sunburnt country!

Well I took a very slow but tidy first lap to get the car won and then pumped it up a bit to get bronze. It's a little tricky but I'm sure Gold won't be to far away just need to get a bit more used to the car, it can be twitchy under brakes and off throttle. Went for the black car with the blue accents because it looks MEAN, but I was very tempted by the blue with orange accents.

With two of my PSN friends clocking times more than two full seconds below the Gold time, I didn't care about getting any Gold times to surpass my PSN friends. It is pretty tough to try to keep this car between the white lines and away from the barriers. On a lighter note, at least this is much easier than when I tried out a lap time using the Williams FW22 around Bathurst in one of the bonus championships in "ToCA Race Driver 3." At one point, I was getting the hang of this car's handling and also getting the hang of racing Bathurst. I'm not confident enough to go for Gold with this car and for this track. So I took the Silver with a best time of 2:09.596 as of this post.

A difficult decision, especially since it will cost $2 million to change it!

I chose Elbaitgrün Metallic, the green with yellow highlights. Some of the combos made the wheels look a bit garish for my taste, while others, like the Crystal Lauritsilver and the Diamantweiss Metallic were not exciting enough for me.

Edit: I'm taking photos right now which I will post very shortly
Chose the same color!!! (already have enough Orange chips!!!) Also the military chip from Corvette TT I LIKE!!!:)

It's an "artificial" car. It's supposed to handle "artificially".

This is true, but there's just no feeling of weight there, compared to something like even the X2014.

Ended up revisiting the seasonal (with the DFGT this time) and ran a couple more laps to end up with a 2:05.5xx. Was fun and handles pretty well. I didn't feel it had much understeer at all. Brake early and hit the the apex properly and she holds pretty damn well.

If I read you correctly, you are saying you get chips from these? I didn't think we did as when you process the purchase it doesn't actually say that you have received a chip. Which is a bummer!!! Some pretty wicked paint jobs with this car.

Smoothness over the top of the mountain (easy to say ) I found was the key to getting gold. Gear changing below the redline on the straights made a difference I found, and keeping as much carry speed as possible over the mountain through all the turns helped immensely. Then finding the right angle to keep full speed through the right hander into the Chase. As I saID, easier said than done with DS3.

Then exhale.

Got a 2:01.4xx Maybe up to a second left. How does that compare to you super fast guys?

BTW, No aids except for ABS 1.

Agree that its the bit on top of the mountain that is key to a good time. There is a certain rhythm to taking the bends on the way down - hopefully that makes sense to someone

Got a 2:03.798 on the super lap.

Vid of the lap is here... Feel like I could still get a bit more out of a lap, though I'm getting a bit more used to the top of the mountain with practice.

And, to repeat, as I always make clear. I use aids for various reasons (skill level and time available being 2 of them). So yes, I'm not trying to compete in any way with anyone who doesn't use aids. In fact i'm waaaaaaaaaaay slower than them anyway. I'm just doing this for fun.

I hope you enjoy the lap. For info, the Corvette Stingray lap will follow (hopefully tomorrow).

PS Please vote on my other video thread which has the first results from my car testing. FT-1 Concept tested and many more cars to follow soon, details on the thread :)

Needed a 4 lap run for this, all under gold time but I made slight and stupid mistakes on first 3 runs! When I did eventually cross the line it was by far my best run in a seasonal. Until I read @SAFFY post above!

Why on earth are we now doing races with fake virtual cars???????

I better take NFS out if I want to play this kind of races..

It would have been a lot better if they had a Ford or Holden to race around Bathurst.

I love Bathurst, great track (like Nordschleife) but yeah any other "virtual" car would be great.
But not this fake MB....

I never really tried 0 ABS before, but I gave it a go on this one.

Good fun, really. The brakes probably work too well. If all cars handle like this with 0 ABS, I'll be running that way more and more and more.

Simception. I'm down to a 2:05.953 @Outeke Congrats on your time! I had all my PSN friends beat in the S's and touched the wall at Falken.

Yup. It's like Accelerate on the flat at the top, brake, downshift, accelerate through the first s, brake, downshift, accelerate, brake hard (& dead straight), downshift, hard left, gun it and upshift through the next S, brake, right, hard brake straight, downshift, line up to accelerate out of Falken.

All very fast & hard, but smooth motions. It's like a tango. I love Bathurst for this.

Start of my second lap I lost the sound completely. I've had sound issues at Bathurst before with it cutting in and out but this time it cut out completely and instantly. Had to reboot the system to get sound back:tdown:

i think these seasonal events are way to easy...
mec race i got gold on the 1st run and got it below 2.04 on the 3rd lap...
but corvet one was bit more chellanging but still way to easy i think..
got gold on 3rd lap....
when will they bring out hard cars to drive like LFA ??
or ferrari F40 / Enzo ?
something hard to drive...
or even a Elise.
