@Burned_Rubber , you are more than welcome to post here what ever you want to. Happy to have your thoughts on my builds here any time! :) 👍
I am glad you liked the 440 Six-Pack tune. I never quite got the weight management of that BIG block to my liking, however I thought others may like it and I had run out of ideas. That car is a prime candidate for a manual trans. tune....I'm just not there yet. It will be re-visited at a later date with some improvements in mind.
I am VERY happy with how the AAR tune turned out! The fore/aft movement is noticeable in the re-plays, and the brakes are made to feather...not stomp. Just the way I prefer to drive. I also want the car to turn into the corner low and tight, and when power is re-applied, to accelerate hard and for the whole car to kinda 4 wheel drift to the outside of the track. I guess its a trail brake in/power out deal. (that's probably why most of my tunes require light brake pressure)
Please do come back and try some others. You are welcome always. The Chevelle is going to get a new trans soon, (testing it now), and the Cougar is almost ready to go. Thanks again for putting these great old cars through their paces.

NOTE: A hard tire version of the same Sports Soft car. Left the weight the same to make it easier to switch back and forth. I like the Rigidity Improvement on this car and will probably switch the other to match. A little wheel spin, gets the power down well and grips well. I was getting 1:47.000 lap times at the Indy Road course. I have drove that track very little and am sure that can be improved on. Good Luck!

NOTE: Looked at a lot of different cars and didn't like many. So I went back to what I know. :) I asked a couple friends what they thought about this entry in this contest and one said " it might not be fastest, but gets a 10 for style." I agree! This was FUN tuning and this car is super fun to DRIVE. Those that drive "cockpit" style I hope enjoy the look. The car brakes well, with a the rear coming around a touch. Will take a lot of power through the corner and likes aggressive exits. A lot more grip than I was expecting. Have fun with it and looking forward to the reviews. Merlin

So you're going after the style points then are you?👍 It had to be in that paint job too, just had to be '
I've just had a quick blast round Sierra and a run down the Touge with her. Nice ride Merlin 👍 I'll leave out any mention of specifics so the testers can find out for themselves ;). But I like it dude, easily under 11 mins on Sierra at 450pp on CS in a big old heavy "Yank Tank" :P ain't too shabby 👍 even if the driving was in places :embarrassed:

until next time....

:)👍

Ok, now for something a little bit later than previously expected :odd:
I believe you may have noticed a comment I made elsewhere recently about a certain car from a certain garage I tried a while back, with a certain intention. Well, that wasn't the only one I tried :mischievous: I will be posting this review in the appropriate CotM later

So I have been meaning to stop by and try out something in a Muscle Car from her for a while :) I usually just go straight to Mr Muscle's Speed Shop for that sort of thing, but it's good to try something new and you seen to have a liking for them yourself :) So I thought that this was as good a time as any 👍 (or I did a few months ago when it was the CotM )

So where to go..

Classic Muscle Car Series.
Tracks:
Willow Springs "Big Willow"
Laguna Seca
Matterhorn Dristelen,

Willow Springs:
Not really too much to complain about here, It's not a track I'm very familiar with, but I've been logging some miles there every so often to try and learn the nuances. Even still the race it'sself was a bit of a non event. The 600pp SS limit allowed here really masks the level of competition and with this car at 500PP on SS it was an all to easy a victory. The car itself feels to have a pretty good balance and was very intuitive. I felt pretty comfortable in the first few corners and by the second lap the race was pretty much over when I passed the Buick Special to take the lead. The transmission pulls like a train out of the corners here and the sound coming out the pipes while it's running up through the rev range . Overall I like the car here, nicely matched for the track IMO.

In the interest of full disclosure....
I hope you don't mind, I also ran the race with a slightly altered set-up :odd: I removed the racing brakes and took off the ABS  Don't worry, I'm not going to start moaning about you using ABS , given a choice I would use it every chance I get too 👍 But in the name of learning and experiencing, I try these things :).

I find that a lot of times the brakes can hide things with ABS and you can sometimes see a completely different side to the tune when you take it off (Thanks to a certain  Canadian and his challenges in the CotM last year ;)). The racing brakes are more or less a complete no-no for me on sports tyres with no ABS, the tyre only has so much grip, and I feel that the brakes use up too much of it, leaving too little left for other purposes (steering/maintaining traction) So I like to remove them and test the BB out that way too :). This car still worked rather well like this 👍 There was a little evidence of locking up the front if too aggresive on the brakes in a hard braking zone, but as long as I was a little more responsible with the "chicken pedal" all was pretty managable. IMO this shows the balance of the car for what it is and I felt little change in how I had to drive the car either way. For me this is a very good thing :)

Laguna Seca:
A bit more of a handful here :scared: But in saying that I do know the track a little better (a lot better really) so I was probably pushing a bit more :mischievous: The front was still doing it's job well, but I felt the rear was a little looser here, mostly on exit to some of the flatter corners. In saying that, coming round the Andretti hairpin pretty fun, and getting the rears lit up coming out the Corkscrew was just :D:tup:. Again, no significant problem posed in the race (with either brake configs ;)) 👍

The GT40 had no chance in Rainey Curve.

Matterhorn Dristelen:
Now that was fun :D, I'd say other than the last couple of corners the car was great here. Just a little too slippery on the final tight left for my liking, but it wasn't out of control. It felt good everywhere else, even the right-hander right before it was pretty easy to negotiate after the downhill plunge 👍

The race though was a little more difficult :guilty: too many cars grouped together early in the race, coupled with an accident in turn 1 on lap 2 held me back a little and allowed the Cobra to stretch his lead a bit :(

Not to worry, I got past him coming out that corner 👍, just didn't want to show the "small ding" in the front of the car :embarrassed:....plus the next time I got a good shot of the mountain in the background, he was nowhere to be seen

Nice tune my friend 👍 and sorry it took so long to get to letting you know :banghead:
