Not as stylish as the last few - the Velorex:

60_Velorex.jpg

Designed and built in soviet-era Czechoslovakia primarily as a car for the disabled. Tubular frame and the "bodywork" was simply vinyl stretched and secured over it. The model pictured used a 350cc two-stroke twin and has a top speed of little over 50mph.

I remember reading a test of one in a magazine back in the 90s that decreed it absolutely terrifying. Predictably, today there seems to be a small band of enthusiasts keeping them running. And doing daft things like driving them to Iceland...

For this one Jeremy Clarkson once said that it looks like it crashed in the back of a cow.

I love Berkeleys. I actually got to drive a hardtop T60 (ingress and egress were...interesting) with a 998cc A-series and automatic from a Mini--it was a blast.

My favorite of the bunch, however, are the B95 and B105 with the Royal Enfield motor. The quirky front end styling (necessitated by the running gear) is what does it for me.

Here's a scary thing. Take the general shape of a Kabinenroller and replicate it in fiberglass, drop the shell over a tubular chassis and then hoist in an Austin A-series engine with three more pistons, 1.1 liters more total engine displacement and more than six times the horsepower.

I may have mentioned it here before.
