Mid-Field Raceway Lap Times For 716 Cars!

Something doesn't seem right about this...

1:39.325 - 342 - Honda Odyssey '03
1:39.671 - 338 - Honda Element '03

They both have the exact same power and torque, but the Odyssey weighs 140 kg (309 lbs) more than the Element, and has 4 more PP...???????

its normally something to do with driving style
the element is a boxy piece of 🤬, while (for a van) the Odyssey is relatively stable.
Just like with the Spoon CRZ, that has just 142 hp and 1130 kg and yet has a PP of 375

Great Senna quote on the avatar there @SuzukaStar, Ayrton really gave it right back to Jackie Stewart on that interview.

Strangely enough, I was coming out of a restaurant last Saturday evening and nearly got run over by Jackie Stewart in his range rover , well when I say nearly run over, he drove past me about 10 feet from where I was standing and I recognised him immediately in the driver seat. But that doesn't sound as impressive :D

Still enjoying the test results @SuzukaStar But I just hope for your sake they don't add another track to the game and make you start all over again :sly:

GT6 forum a bit quiet today, guess everybody must be busy doing something else  I would be as well but my copy hasn't arrived yet :grumpy::lol:

I've already decided this is my final test track until GT7. When I'm done here, I'm done forever.

Same power & torque peak does not mean same curve. The overall curve is what's influencing the PPs. The Element has a red line that's 500rpm higher. That alone means the calculation takes the curve between 6000 and 6500rpm into account. If power goes down in that area, it might lower PP as well.

The Element is also best when shifting well before its red line at 6000 and, doing that, in my testing both cars showed practically the same pace.

Aristo Battle!

1:26.931 - 438 - Toyota Aristo V300 '00
285 hp / 5,500 rpm
346 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
1,680 kg
438 pp

1:27.603 - 434 - Toyota Aristo 3.0V '91
286 hp / 5,500 rpm
331 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
1,680 kg
434 pp

Interesting numbers and results! The older car has more tendency to oversteer, making it better at turning into the corner, but the extra torque of the newer car is what really makes a difference here.

It must be that the Odyssey is more aerodynamic than the Element. it is more of a wedge design rather than the boxy shape of the Element. Its windshield is basically at a 90 degree angle from the hood so the air is hitting it like a flat wall therefore increasing drag.

Re-tested M3 GTR because it only beat the CSL by a tenth of a second. I beat my old GTR lap by 0.144 seconds, so now it's 3 tenths faster than the CSL. Give me the inline-6 over the V8 any day.
