Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

It's the way you drive it,some driver prefrence, some becuase different cars excel at different tracks.
And Soopa have you tuned the NSX?Havent really touched it for a long time.

I haven't touched the NSX as I'm doing the Nurburgring 24Hr this week, I should get a chance for a quick setup before the race, as you can tell I'm not exactly giving it my all this season but I will definitely be back in it for Season 3 ;) I should probably give up my spot for someone else but then I might not get it back for next season!!

Don't give up Soopa, you're always one of the most consistent drivers also if you don't do so much practice or if you play with the DS3.

I am not having any luck,ABS on or off my car still does a high 45 at best with 46 race pace.
I get lots of random-ness and the car feels awkward.
On entry and mid corner I get either understeer or oversteer and I don't know what or when it's going to come.
It also sucks REALLY bad at carrying the brake.:grumpy:
I just wish I knew what is going wrong with either me or the car, there is no way I can be so far off...

I'm exactly the same. Don't know what's wrong. Really getting on my nerves.

I can try to help you 2. I'll try your cars when I go on practice today.

Well, I have to say that this track will not be good for me friday, I can hardly follow a 1.44 pace doing 2 stops, unless a "setup" miracle happens I will not be too much competitive this time :nervous:

I thought times would have been closer on grand valley , seems most people are struggling in sector 2.

The nsx cars should do well here with the really long straight , overtaking should be relatively easy here as well.

Ill have a practice lounge open later this evening .

Unfortunately the straight isn't enough to make up for all the tight turns and the hairpin tries to throw the NSX into a spin every time if I remember rightly!!

That hairpin is a killer as I've said before , extremely light throttle if any at all.

I'm sure Gprilli will figure something out by Friday he seems to have 2nd place reserved for him on the podium every race

try going round it in an NSX, even no throttle will try and spin you out, as I've said before I think the NSX is the hardest car to drive... It may just be me but I enjoy the challenge anyway which is why I chose it :) If I'd known I'd be using DS3 I may not have!!

Yes Soopa, that's an issue I have too, part of the "unpredictable" segment.
Especially at the hairpin as soon as you trail off the brake and before you even get on the gas it wants to spin.
The sharp characteristics would be ok if it was quick but it isn't.
I've never worked so hard for so little behind the wheel.

For that hairpin what I do is brake real early and use the natural drift or oversteer of the car to make the hairpin and then only get on the throttle when I'm dead straight , it does spin me out sometimes thought. But normally when I'm going thru that corner I'm not on the throttle or the brake .

I just remembered SkengD you drove the EPSON NSX last season, DNF both times so I guess you already know how hard the NSX is to drive!! :D

I would sugest something in the LSD could fix the issue, it will slow the car down no doubt but if it means you can get round that corner more comfortably I'd say over all you'd be quicker, I'm no tuner so I don't know exactly what needs to be done to it but from my limited understanding it would be the place to try...

Oh yes Soopa the nsx was quite a handful , I would like to drive one next season though , either it or the supra.
But if we do stick to the teams idea , I might want to drive a gtr again

I think with the right tuning though you can make it driveable.

My tuning was way off in the first season , I wasn't even running full downforce.

My current lsd settings are torque 6 accel 21 decel 12

So all braking on straight and turn it in on a trailing throttle to transfer weight to the rear?

All braking on straight , and no throttle or brake during the turn , then once your straight get back on the throttle

Thanks for the tip SkengD, I'll be looking for a quick tune on race day and will give that LSD a try ;)

I too will probably go for a GT-R next season, my brief tests with the Calsonic were very favourable :) Would love to see Garagefather in an NSX, I bet he would show us how its done in one of those...

Skengs diff setup helped me out ALOT last night and it's still this bad.
Im at 5 24 12.

Not as much success as me ;) Although how he did so well with a DS3 I have no idea, I believe he used TCS but not sure

Well I ran last season without TCS and ran the LSD at default, I think there were a couple of times where I ran the acceleration and braking about 10 lower than default, to be honest I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to tuning so it was all trial and error. I had a friend give me some setups to try and sometimes they worked well, other times not so much, but I think that was because he uses DS3 and I was on my wheel. Unfortunately I didn't write my setups down but most of the time I was running camber at about 2.0 front and 1.5 rear, springs were between 12-14, dampers at 6 and anti roll at 4.

As far as driving style goes (with the wheel) I tend to keep the braking in a straight line as much as possible, sometimes leaving it on half as I turn in, I was often setting the rear brake bias higher say 4/7 as front tyre wear was really bad. Gently feeding in the power just after the apex and using that oversteer tendancy to my advantage if I need it to turn a bit more on the exit. Other than that just trying to stay smooth through the turns, which with the DS3 is easier said than done, I'm tempted to go with the wheel this week as my knee is feeling a bit better, but I also don't want to risk using it too early and prolonging the healing process... I was told to stay of it for at least 2 weeks :(

If you can right foot brake and be competitve that would be cool, just got to hope the computer auto-blips well though.Yeah the front tire is bad for a car that feels so taily.

Yes I wonder why the nsx is so bad on the front tires , you would think it would be the rears since the tail kicks out so much

just got my dlc :)

Is left foot braking a special technique?
Soopa, could you share your setup from last season?
