Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 3: CANCELLED DUE TO ONLINE BUG

The thing is I have experienced this issue on multiple occasions but never in soopas lounge and this issue is one that can not be missed and doesn't affect a few drivers it affects all either in positive or negative ways meaning you will be faster or slower .

If we ever had this problem in a race before trust me , we would know.

The thing is we usually never ran more than 12-13 drivers I think and usually soemone would quit .

The times I've experienced the bug is in rooms 14 plus
 
So the fact I've said I experienced it in this league means nothing!? Spa is the most obvious one I can remember where the pace I had on my own was several seconds faster than race day. I've been following the "game breaking flaw" thread and it is clear it doesn't always affect everyone in a race, from reports I've read the only person almost guaranteed to be affected is the host, based on my experience of my own competitiveness in the MRC versus other leagues I've raced in I'm inclined to think that could be true.

I've raced you in another league SkengD and beat you 9/10 including one-make races, but most of last season in the MRC I was nowhere near you, I had put it down to the fact I had little time for practise or that you had the most competitive car and I had the harder to drive NSX, I'm starting to believe that those factors aren't enough to account for how far off your pace I was, considering how far ahead of you i've been in the short one-make races we've had in the past... maybe I received the positive effect in other leagues where I wasn't the host, but thats the thing that pisses me off most about this bug, I can't be sure I won any of my past races through my own skill or not.

You can't be sure that we'd have noticed this, now the issue is more exaggerated then yes it is obvious when it happens, but what if it was always there but the effect wasn't as pronounced as it is now, we could easily put it down to a bad lap when that wasn't necessarily the case... we have no idea how long this has been there :grumpy:
 
Soopa I raced in 9 out of 10 of the races on the calendar and I saved all the replays .

I will check them and take a look at the times to observe any disparity .

This online bug lag issue is more of a frames per second lag problem than the actual internet lag that we are used to seeing .

As I said before it makes some faster and some slower but its easy to identify the issue because it makes you go faster than you could go in practice . For example on grand valley the most you can get out of the cars with our specs are about a 1 43 xxx or 1 42 9xx and that's with great driving . With this bug I witnessed people doing 1 41s and 1 40's .Another example is I witnessed someone run soft times on the medium tire.

I have never seen this in our league where a driver who is usually slower let's say mid pack or at the back get so fast that he is on the podium .

I'm not saying that it couldn't or wouldn't happen in Season 3 , all I'm saying is that I really don't think it ever happened to us in Season 2 . We have the replays to check and they should be able to back up my thoughts.

Maybe I was just rubbish at Spa on race day then, I really don't see how I could be so bad I was seconds slower though, if I had a bad day I would expect to be a second slower at most...

I'm sure you said yourself that you were always faster in my lounge than your own practise sessions

Soopa, I have the same problems hosting our league I am seconds slower than everyone else and the force feed back in my wheel starts to slip. We have done some experimenting and have found open lobby, fixed host, no mics and turn off visible damage seems to work. We meet in my lounge to practice with mics on, I get a head count of how many will be racing then I move us to an open lobby. Hope this helps your league

We will give something a try soon, for now I've had it with this game, the MRC will continue when my confidence in this game is higher and my anger towards PD for ruining my 2nd season lower.
 
Phil , can't believe your not racing after you organized it , lol .

I can't compare practice times for everyone only those I practice with regularly but I always am on watch race and live timing taking notes of sector times and fastest laps.

I know there is indeed a problem Soopa but I think we probably were lucky and didn't have to encounter it much .

I am usually faster in your lounge by a few tenths 2 - 3 but this online bug makes you slower or faster by seconds not tenths .

Seeing the medium tire do a soft tire time was enough proof for me that this bug is real .

Maybe as you said since you were the host it had the worst negative effect on you.

Let's hope this update next week fixes things and we can get the league up and running sometime in the future
 
The only reason I was well off the pace was because of this damn bug!! Not because of my driving ability.

I would probably have won the league as well. Daaaaaammmmmmmnnnnnn.

It was supposed to be preseason tonight but PD had other ideas.
I would come on for some fun races, but I don't think enough people are interested/can make it.
 
At least PD are almost certainly aware of the issue now. Update is up tomorrow apparently so we'l soon find out :scared:.
 
Im way out of the groove already, so I sincerely hope PD fix this. If they fix the tire issue it's a bonus.

and we now see why we didnt experience it that much because we usually had 12 or less racers

and phil i actually like this new tire wear

i really miss racing with you guys and practicing with tyrell almost every day , i hope we can get back into this game
 
Just have to keep on waiting. I know I'm repeating myself a lot here but PD would be insane not to fix it and throw away their core of fans.
At least the issue is now on the front page PD must be aware of it, I believe you helped to do that Neal 👍

I'm missing the race and practises too, I haven't been on GT for about a week now, my DFGT is just gathering dust, it's a sad sight. Can't believe you like the tyre wear though SkengD , what kind of GT cars have a hard and medium compound which can only last a few laps ?
 
I have mediums lasting about as long as the old softs , nothing crazy like 15 - 20 laps but 10 - 12 on the medium is possible .
 
We might have to soften our cars setup for the new tires, but that should make the Lexus more fun.
Meanwhile I've been messing with a Blitz Skyline with ss front, sm rear and a locked diff for fun. Thats helped my smoothness.

I'm a member of the intercontinental league ( immortals league )

They are considering accepting some new drivers and what they plan to do is split the drivers up in 2 groups so we have no more than 10-12 to a group to prevent us from suffering the pain of that online bug issue .

I figured since the MRC is no longer running a few of you might be interested in joining this league .

The rules are slightly different but its still gt500 cars .
 
Well with what I understand from the new update, it looks like we could race if we disabled voice chat. Its nice to hear others but since we are supposed to keep mics muted anyway maybe we could try it. besides, we could listen to our own music during the race:)
 
Probably not gonna start this back up any time soon, this game kinda lost its charm for me, sad cause I've been a huge fan since I picked up GT1 on PSOne and loved every iteration since. Feel like I wasted alot of time racing online with GT5 though, can't really tell if the races and championships I won were down to me or my connection, so I'm sure you'll understand why I'm reluctant to give up so much of my time to a game that is updated with bugs every new release...
