Minimizing Screw ups

No, you're getting CART and F1 confused.  The Indy 500 is a CART race.  F1 will only come once to America to Indianapolis later this year for the U.S. Grand Prix, but it will not be the Indy 500 and will not be run on the oval track.

A very easy way to tell CART and F1 cars apart is by looking at the tires.  If there are small groves in the tires, it's F1.  And, if not, then it's CART.

Also, the cars (F1), if they race the same parts of the cicuit as they did last year, will race on part of the oval. A name used for a combination road course and oval course is a roval.

LOL, I can't even get it right!

I've never heard roval before...but I like it.  :)

I had only heard it when somebody was talkning about Rockingham the other day.

Did anybody see the Euro GP today ? If you did, you may have seen the footage from Montoya's car - did you see that he wasn't changing gears ?

Yeah, I watched part of the race, but I don't think I got to see that shot.  :(

I can't stand watching auto racing, soooooo boring, :sleepgo: the same cars with different paint jobs going around a oval track for hours. It just puts me to sleep. The only racing I watch is Le Mans and Rally. The Le Mans has how many different cars and they race on tracks with turns and small hills, I don't know, I like it. I'll watch it some times when I'm really bored. Rally, I love the Rally series they have on Speedvision every weekend. It's great seeing the WRX and Lancers and Focus's race and flip and wreck and lose peice of the cars. I think it's great. Plus they don't judge 1st, 2nd and 3rd by who is in front of who, they judge by the time you got on that specific stage. Just two or three weeks ago, one of the new WRX's had a problem with the fuel injection system (I think) and the car went up in flames, it was cool looking but I couldn't watch the new WRX burn to the ground like that, it was sad... Such a nice car..... :(

F1 - boring?!  Are you sure you've seen an F1 race?

Hey what time are the rally races on Speedvision?

Anyway. So if I put tires with fine grooves on a CART car it will be an F1?! Please tell me the real diffrence between the two because its getting very confusing.. Is F1 more like putting a diffrent fuel formula into the car?
Atleast I know the diffrence between GT racing and Le Mans.

No, CART and F1 cars are almost nothing alike, except for the open wheels.  I was just using the tires as a simple way to differentiate between the two.  Come over to the F1 Forum and start a new topic about it.  Phil and Talentless (who know so much more than me about the sport it's not even funny :)) will tell you everything you want to know.

I don't know what it is about them, I just don't like F1 racing, it's like watching NASCAR. I've seen a few F1 races, the most interesting thing I've seen was when hafl the cars got into a huge pile-up, it's was great. I think I even got the replay on tape it was so good.

Drifta, you've been watching CART and IRL, haven't you?  F1 races aren't around ovals (thank the good Lord above)...

Guess what I saw last night on ESPN2 (or some channel like that) I saw an F1 race. My bad on the oval track thing, but it still looks like a cart race. I still don't think I like it.

Where were they racing?  Did two bright red Ferrari's get first and third place?

I don't recall the Track name but the 2 ferrari's did finish 1st and 3rd. It was not a bad race, I mostly watch those races because I like to see wrecks :)

It was definitely an F1 race, then.  It was at Magne Cours, in France.

I'm not saying F1 racing is the worst.... That spotlight would have to go to NASCAR :D it's just not something I will sit and watch for 3 or 4 hours. Le Mans is not better, I just like seeing all the different exotic Sports cars with the flames shooting from the exhaust and the fires and the night driving and the wrecks and everything. But my all time favorite has got to be the WRC series on speedvison.

Yeah, WRC is definitely the best.

You should try watching F1, though, a race shouldn't last longer than an hour.

They had the same race last night, the one at France, I saw the huge French flag pianted on the ground (or however they did it) Who was in the first place Ferrari? Micheal Shumacher right? I turned on speedvision and they were on lap 28 of 72 and I tried to watch it, I got to lap 60 something and fell asleep. Not because of boredom, it wasn't really that bad, it's just I was working all day yesterday and just passed out.
