The Houston Astros Baseball Club returned home after a winless road trip at Toronto and at the White Sox. So tonight, King Felix brought his Seattle Mariners to battle my Astros in the first game of a weekend set. Four words described this game:

No place like home.

We dethroned King Felix with a vicious 10-0 whacking of the Mariners. The surprising news came when I poked around on Twitter and saw "King Felix" trending. I thought King Felix was pitching a Perfect Game against my Astros or something. All to find out... the Astros were somehow lighting up the scoreboard. This win breaks our seven game losing streak. Four different Astros jacked the ball out of Minute Maid Park. The Astros are (I think) now 22-0 when hitting at least two Home Runs. However, the news wasn't all positive for the Astros. José Altuve left the game with a hamstring injury. On our 35th victory, the win went to Brett Oberholtzer for HOU, and SEA's loser was "King" Felix Hernandez. This Seattle at Houston series continues Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners, including Dolph Drago's Reds on the road in extra innings and Joey D and AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers at home.

Not sure how the Reds are winning.

Among our injuries:
SP Homer Bailey (Tommy John, out for season)
SP Raisel Iglesias (oblique strain, 15-day DL, return unknown)
RP Sean Marshall (recovering from shoulder surgery, 60-day DL, likely done for season)
C Devin Mesoraco (hip impingement, moved to left field in AAA to see if it works out)
LF Marlon Byrd (fractured wrist, 15 day DL, return unknown)
CF Billy Hamilton (sprained wrist, day-to-day)
2B Brandon Phillips (strained groin & turf toe, day-to-day)
SS Zach Cozart (torn ligaments and tendon in knee, season ending surgery coming up)

That leaves a a few pitchers, Votto, Frazier, and Bruce as the only healthy players...

Houston eviscerated Seattle last night in a shutout, so what did we do for Saturday afternoon? Fail. The Seattle Mariners got pissed off and decided to beat the 'Stros 8-1 today. Mike Montgomery picked up the win for Seattle while Collin McHugh took the loss for Houston.

Rubber Game tomorrow afternoon here in my wonderful hometown of Houston. It will be Ronnie Elias (SEA) vs. Lance McCullers (HOU).

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday. The Sunday Night match on ESPN will be the Cincinnati Reds at the Chicago Cubs. The probables for that Sunday Night Game are Anthony DeSclafani for CIN going up against Jon Lester for CHC.

I hope all of you baseball fans who also love racing were able to enjoy the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Speaking of motorsports, I think Seattle blew a motor because we took the SEA at HOU series by a football score of 13-0. Altuve was not in the lineup for Houston, and Trumbo wasn't in the lineup for Seattle. We didn't really need Altuve considering the damage we put on Seattle. Houston had 14 hits compared to just 2 hits by Seattle. Improving to 36-28 on the season was done thanks to a win for HOU's Lance McCullers. For SEA, Roenis Elias took the loss. Since I called this a "football score," this would be my Texans beating the Seahawks... and me being a happy boy.

Up next... basically a four-game set against the Colorado Rockies split into two games here in Houston followed by two games in Denver.

Congratulations to Sunday's other winners, including Toronto tying their franchise record for successive wins by beating the Boston Red Sox in Boston. That win is their 11th in a row. They could set a new record for most straight wins if they can win tomorrow night at Blitz24's New York Mets as part of a four-game split set (two at NYM, two at TOR).

Reds fell 2-1 to the Cubs in extras tonight. Sure would be nice to score some runs when we go into extra innings. But alas, every time our bullpen is the one to give up the run(s).

On the plus side, Billy Hamilton swiped 5 bases. That dude is a terror on the base paths and can really mess with the rhythm of the pitcher by getting into their heads strictly on his speed.

Rangers are still blanked at the top of the 6th. Good news is that the Dodgers are also blanked at the top of the 6th.

Anyways, I think I slacked off a couple of weeks in a row, but here is a baseball video for your Tuesday morning coffee.

4/18/14 Brewers at Pirates: The term, "knock the cover off the ball" took a literal meaning at the top of the sixth, perplexing Pirates third baseman Alvarez.

You can now add to the list:
RP Tony Cingrani (shoulder strain, 15-day DL)
SP Jon Moscot (already a fill-in) (dislocated shoulder in 1st inning tonight, likely will be out for quite some time)

Might as well call the Reds the Cincinnati Bats since practically the entire Triple A team is coming up to the big leagues...

BTW, nice game for Anibal Sanchez tonight for the Tigers, as he 2 hit the Reds with 7 K's and 0 walks. Bet @AnthonyD1993 enjoyed this one. I sure as hell didn't.

Blue Jays get all the way to 11, and then stop. Bautista tied the game with a HR in the 9th (2nd of the game), but the Mets won the game in the 11th on a moronic shift that allowed a shallow fly ball to be a double for Lucas Duda (driving in a run) and then Wilmer Flores drove him in.

I didn't even watch the game because I forgot that they played a late game tonight.

Meanwhile here in Houston...

Tropical Storm Bill wasn't the only storm brewing around Southeast Texas... we took down the Colorado Rockies 6-3 as Dallas Keuchel picks up another win. Luke Gregerson got the Save for HOU. Losing for Colorado was Chad Bettis. The boys from Mile High were brought down to sea level mostly due to a four-run 1st Inning which saw Colby Rasmus of the Astros hit a three-run jack after Preston Tucker got an RBI single. This National League reunion for the Astros continues tomorrow night here in Houston before this split series heads to Denver for two.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday.

This four-game Rockies/Astros series is done with the Houston side, and it ends with a 8-5 victory for the Houston Astros. Winning for HOU was Will Harris along with another Save from Luke Gregerson, and the losing pitcher for COL was Chris Rusin. Up next for the Astros is the back half of this series in Denver. So more National League memories coming up for the Astros.

Now on to my thoughts on the whole deal regarding the St. Louis Cardinals hacking the Houston Astros' computers for sensitive information. If the St. Louis Cardinals are found guilty of hacking into the Houston Astros, this is going to be about as damning to the Cardinals organization as Spygate or Deflategate to the NFL's New England Patriots. In fact, many people think this is possibly even worse than those two incidents. I would think a team as dominant and as incredible as the St. Louis Cardinals wouldn't need to stoop to a low of hacking the information of another team. Of course, a lot of people are writing off this deal because it's my Astros possibly getting hacked into. Some people on Facebook are probably thinking "what would the Cardinals want in hacking the Astros of all teams?" In defense of my beloved team, what difference does it f:censored:ing make which team gets hacked? Okay. So it's my Astros who are the hacking victims. It could have been some other team or teams hacking somebody else (take the Giants, the Dodgers, the Yankees, or somebody). Regardless, this is still a HUGE story no matter how you look at it. Some brutal consequences could result from this. You just don't do something like hack into sensitive information especially among two professional sports teams. I want to see how this all plays out. But for right now, it ain't looking too good for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday. Also, please spare some thoughts for Bob Uecker, who got hit in the head by a ball during batting practice and was concussed.

I don't think it would have mattered what team the Cards hacked in the end, if at all, but the fact that the FBI is investigating this outside of baseball shows how serious teams will be to get a competitive edge over everyone, and that includes the Astros. They just so happened to get caught, that's all.

Four homers by the Houston Astros led the Astros to taking down the Colorado Rockies in Denver 8-4. Our winner was starting pitcher Brett Oberholtzer, and Kyle Kendrick took the loss for COL. We suit up and play ball again in Denver later this afternoon (since it is Thursday as of this post) to conclude this series.

Congratulations to Wednesday's other winners.

The Houston Astros Baseball Club got their ruby (40th) win of the season by sweeping the Colorado Rockies again with an 8-4 victory in Denver. We are now 40-28 on the season. Collin McHugh picked up the win for HOU while David Hale took the loss for COL. Actually, they won at Colorado by the same score they won today by.

Up next... two cities and six games out west, meaning- more late games! We'll be at the Pacific Northwest's only MLB team- the Seattle Mariners for a three-game weekend series. Then after that series, we'll be in Anaheim to entertain Patrick's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for a three-game set starting this coming Monday.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday, including BobK's Philadelphia Phillies snapping their nine-game losing streak by taking down the Baltimore Orioles in Philly.

To further this point, all of the Cardinals' postseason success going back at least two years is now in doubt. Remember the 2013 NLCS when Joe Kelly plunked Handley Ramirez and he suffered a fractured rib? Many Dodgers fans are now thinking that the pitch in question was intentional.

The last road trip of ours was a winless one. This one continues that streak of road losses as we lost 5-2 at Seattle. The SEA winning crew were Roenis Elias with the Win and a Save from Carson Smith. HOU's loser was Lance McCullers. Since today is Saturday as of this post, the second game of this three-game series is later tonight.

Elsewhere...

No matter what you make of him and his career, congratulations to Alex Rodriguez on making the 3,000 hits club. He's the 29th player in MLB history to accomplish this feat and the 3rd ever to record his 3K hit with a Home Run. 3K hits is 3K hits despite A-Rod's dabbling with performance enhancing drugs.

Congratulations to all winners from Friday.

Bill Plaschke is a moron, always has been.
I don't doubt that(remembering his many appearances on 'Around the Horn'), but the speculations that he has stated surely has some merit, do they not? Throwing a fastball to intentionally hit a very good batter to injure him has to be put on the same level as the question of how long the Patriots were spying on defensive coordinators as part of Spygate. You have to remember that the Patriots were punished for one incident because they couldn't really prove how long they were doing the practice. I think that the same thing will happen here, most likely, but the difference between the two is that the FBI is investigating this outside of Baseball rather than keeping this in house.

The Astros get doubled up in a loss. Back-to-back fails for the Houston Astros as we lost 6-3 at Seattle on Saturday. SEA's winners were Taijuan Walker and a Save from Carson Smith. Mr. Dallas Keuchel took the loss for HOU to fall to 6-3 on the season. Seattle thinks sweep, Astros seeking to avoid the sweep. We'll see what happens later today in this series finale.

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday, including the Washington Nationals and Max Scherzer pitching a Perfect Game... that eventually became a No Hitter had it not been for plunking the final batter that would have completed the would-be Perfect Game.

J.D. Martinez hit 3 home runs in the Tigers' 12-4 beatdown of the Yankees today. It's finally nice to see them win with a blowout after the Yankees killed them in the other games this series.

Houston avoids being swept and improve to 41-30 by winning 6-2 at Seattle. According to a stat I read and after today's game, the Astros are now 12-16 all-time at Safeco Field. Will Harris for HOU picked up the win, and former Astros' pitcher J.A. Happ was the SEA losing pitcher.

Up next... we're at Patrick's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for a three-game series starting on Monday.

Congratulations to all other winners from Sunday.

You got some explaining to do, Pete Rose. There have been recent reports that Cincinnati Reds great Pete Rose gambled on games he played in and managed. Not sure of the specifics, but recent reports show he gambled in games he played in 1986. You're free to respond to this deal based on this link I found: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/1...l-star-game-says-mlb-commissioner-rob-manfred

Some sad news... Darryl Hamilton reportedly died in a murder-suicide along with his wife here in Houston. He's a former player and an MLB Network analyst. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved including their respective friends and family.

On lighter notes, make ready for new series and some series in progress. Good luck to all of your teams.

First game of this three-game set at the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim went to the Angels. It was a 4-3 victory for LAA despite us attempting to make a comeback victory. That rally, though, came up short. The win went to Huston Street for LAA. Losing for the HOU was Chad Qualls. Tuesday night- we do it again to continue this series.

Congratulations to Monday's other winners, including Philadelphia winning an offensive shootout at the New York Yankees to end their 12-game road losing streak.

Bye season. Murphy won't be back for awhile, Wright is probably done for the year, Blevins done for the year, D'Arnaud apparently wasn't ready and he's back on the DL.

Good thing they have pitching. They also have zero offense. That helps.
