Sorry to read all of that, Blitz24. I guess all your Mets can do is just ride out the season as best as possible. I was going to ask you at one point if you think the Mets could take the NL East this year. But considering this news, I'm not sure you may even compete for a Wild Card berth. Tough break.

Bye season. Murphy won't be back for awhile, Wright is probably done for the year, Blevins done for the year, D'Arnaud apparently wasn't ready and he's back on the DL.

Good thing they have pitching. They also have zero offense. That helps.
As a Reds fan that has half the team on the DL or playing injured, I know your feels.

Maybe it's a good thing all my Reds have all gotten hurt this year. We clearly had no chance of going anywhere this season, and we're going into rebuilding mode anyway. So might as well have everyone get the injuries out of their system this year.

As for the game today against the Pirates...We led 4-0 behind a rookie making his first start (having not given up a hit yet) going into the bottom of the 4th. The Pirates proceeded to put a 7 spot on the board, driving him from the game and beating on the reliever. Granted, the reliever didn't get any help. With 2 outs, he allowed a triple, which was fine. The inning should have been over after the next batter, but the shortstop threw the ball away. Then McCutchen came in and did his thing, blowing the game wide open. We went on to lose 7-6.

Offense. Offense. And more offense. We got the win on Tuesday night- 13-3 victory for the Astros in Anaheim. Three jacks by the Astros were hit- one by Carlos Correa and two by Luis Valbuena. We had about seven unanswered runs until the Angels finally scored in the Bottom of the 4th. This series is going Rubber Game now. Who'll take this HOU at LAA series? All will be answered on Wednesday afternoon. By the way, Tuesday's game was on MLB Network. We'll be on MLB Network again on Thursday this week.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday.

A baseball game can't end in a tie. The Astros and Angels were tied 1-1 after nine innings. Since regulation didn't solve any matters, we needed extras; and the Angels won 2-1 in 13 innings. Patrick's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim took this HOU at LAA series. The LAA winner was Jose Alvarez, and the HOU loser was Joe Thatcher.

Up next for the Houston Astros Baseball Club... we're back home to host some team called the New York Yankees for a four-game weekend series.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday, including beat down wins by Cleveland (vs. Detroit) and the New York Yankees (vs. Philadelphia).

Looks like I get to enjoy some Astros baseball and without the Rangers on the other side of the field on Friday night. I have a vacation that I would be in the area for, so a nice night of Astros baseball would keep me entertained. So according to Fox sports, my starters are Vincent Velasquez for the Astros and Nathan Eovaldi for the Yankees.

The first of four in this weekend series between the Yankees at the Astros goes to the Houston Astros. Dallas Keuchel went the full nine-inning distance striking out 12 Yanks and walking only one other. Keuchel threw 116 pitches. The end result was a 4-0 victory for the Astros. "Kid Keuchy" picked up the win while Adam Warren took the loss for NYY. We are now 43-32 on the season. Game two of this four-game series is later tonight (since it's Friday now).

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday.

On this past Friday night, it was the Yankees who won. 3-2 was the final. The big factor was a three-run homer by the Yankees that the Astros had no answer for. So this four-game series is tied 1-1 as Nathan Eovaldi won for NYY including a Save from Dellin Betances. For HOU, our loser was Will Harris. The remaining two games of this series are day games, so later today, the Yanks and 'Stros will go at it again to continue this series.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners, including Max Scherzer denied a 2nd straight no-hitter yet his Washington Nationals still winning at the floundering Philadelphia Phillies (PHI now with the league's worst record at 26-49).

This NYY at HOU series is tied 1-1. Who went 2-1 on this series? 'Dem Yankees. Appareatly, Brett Oberholtzer threw at Alex Rodriguez and got ejected earlier in the game. We had liftoff with NYY and HOU jacking balls out of Minute Maid Park. Houston was down 6-2 early until the Astros tied it at 6-6. Unfortunately for the Home team, the scoring stopped. The Yankees went ahead and won 9-6. Maybe the Astros thought six runs was enough to beat the Yankees today. Chasen Shreve won for the Yankees, and Delin Betances got the Save. Pat Neshek was the losing Astros' pitcher. Either the Astros get a series split or the Yankees take the series. Which result will come when this series concludes tomorrow afternoon?

Congratulations to Saturday's other winners. A few teams were rocking some vintage style uniforms, like Tampa Bay, Oakland, Kansas City... a lot of them looked very cool.

Oberholtzer was immediately sent down to AAA after the game as his run of bad luck continues for throwing at A-rod.

New York Mets played 1.5 games today. Won in 13 over Cincinnati and then LHP Steven Matz had a day for the record books. One month ago Noah Syndergaard went 3-3 with a HR. Matz had 3 hits, 4 RBI and pitched 7.2 innings in a 7-2 win over Cincinnati. Matz had the most RBI in a debut game for the Mets all time and most RBI in MLB history for a pitcher in their first game.

Congrats to your Mets on the sweep. Too bad it was against my Reds. :ouch: We have a tendency to let unknowns tear us a new one and set records.

After the Astros split the NYY at HOU series with a 3-1 win on Sunday here in Houston, it was time to welcome the AL Central leading Kansas City Royals. I learned this is our final home series before the All-Star Break. So yeah- AL West leaders vs. AL Central leaders. And tonight... we won 6-1 against Kansas City. Houston scored early and often, and Kansas City's only answer was on a bomb to deep left in the Top of the 7th. Lance McCullers helped us to our sapphire (45th) victory while Joe Blanton took the loss for KC. Both of us suit up and play ball again tomorrow night.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday.

It was 4-0 in Houston as the Astros snag another win on the season last night. Dallas Keuchel was the winning HOU pitcher in this one, and he has 10 wins on the season now. Danny Duffy was the loser for KC. There's something I forgot about Kansas City- they're the defending AL Champions. So these wins for the Astros are helping boost their appeal in ways. One last time for this KC at HOU series, and the finale is Wednesday night.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday.

It was a sweep for the Houston Astros Baseball Club in taking down the Kansas City Royals. Tonight's win was a 6-5 victory. The winning HOU pitcher was Luke Gregerson, and the losing KC pitcher in this match was Kelvin Herrera.

Up next for the Astros... we've concluded our final Home series before the All-Star Break. So it's now time to take this rock show on the road. And where? The Boston Red Sox.

Congratulations to all other winners, including the would-be Perfect Game... that then became a would-be No Hitter... to a game that ended up being just an 8-1 blowout win for the Cleveland Indians at the Tampa Bay Rays.

Mets have now made another $1.19million annual payment to Bobby Bonilla.

The Mets, wanting to cut ties with Bonilla, but not wanting to pay the $5.9 million due to him, have in 2001 offered a differed payment plan. They would pay him, starting on July 1, 2011, an annual payment of $1.19 million for 25 years (2035). He agreed, and was release. That release rewarded the Mets a compensatory pick, which they used to draft 3B David Wright.

Here is the Funny bit: If the Mets paid him the $5.9 million, he would be a nobody, but because he took that payment plan, he is making nearly $30 million, $24 million of it in interest.

Bobby Bonilla was one of my favorite Marlins. He had the best PA announcement and a swag swing. Bobbeeeeeee BoeNIIIIIIIIIIyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Jose Fernandez is ridonkulous.

The kid is back. How many other pitchers throw 100mph and hit home runs like it ain't no thang with a BA of .250?

Omnis, I liked that three-run walk-off homer your Marlins hit last night to beat San Francisco. Miami winning again today. Stanton may not be in the lineup, but they got plenty of other talent that can knock the ball out of the park.

I wish Giancarlo Stanton well in his recovery, of course.

I guess that the Tigers forgot how to play baseball during this stretch because they have played like absolute crap lately.

The Houston Astros were involved in an offensive shootout at the Boston Red Sox that went into extra innings. We couldn't handle our business in nine innings with the score tied 8-8, so we needed 10 innings to win 12-8. It was Roberto Hernandez picking up the win for HOU wile Noe Ramirez lost for BOS.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday, including Detroit surviving 8-6 at home despite a late rally from Toronto (and a broken No Hitter bid that A. Sanchez had going for DET). DET led 8-0 before the comeback attempt by TOR.

Boston decided to put on a fireworks show earlier than normal. The Red Sox spanked my Astros 6-1 today. Rubber Game tomorrow afternoon. BOS's winner was Clay Buchholz, and HOU's loser was Collin McHugh.

Congratulations to all other winners on this Independence Day Saturday.

The Astros failed today and lost this series to the Boston Red Sox. Boston won 5-4 today to win this Rubber Game and take the series. So the Astros are stuck on 48 wins.

Up next for the Astros... a trip to the Midwest as we're in Cleveland for a four-game series starting tomorrow night at beautiful Progressive Field. Houston Astros at the Cleveland Indians. Four-game series.

Congratulations to Sunday's other winners besides the Boston Red Sox.

The Tigers decided to go on a streak of garbage I guess. To think that they let Sherzer (who has been lights out) walk but still signed Verlander to his deal when they did (he was showing signs of regression at the time) is just absurd now more than ever. Now, with no Miggy (on the DL), it looks like the Tigers will be picking up some losses for a little while.

The four-game set with the Houston Astros at the Cleveland Indians began tonight. Winning by a score of 9-4 was the Astros. It was Dallas Keuchel (HOU) vs. Carlos Carrasco (CLE) as the starting pitcher battle. And so it was Keuchel getting the win to improve to 11-3, and Carrasco took the loss to fall to 10-7. We suit up and play ball again tomorrow night at Progressive Field to continue the series.

Congratulations to Monday's other winners.

MLB will spend 5 minutes reviewing a replay to see if a runners fingernail came of the bag for a millisecond but a umpire can rule that a foul ball on what was clearly a swing and miss strike three, and it cant be reviewed.

Wasnt the point of replay to get the obvious bad calls right?

With Kluber on the mound for Cleveland, we lost 2-0 tonight at Cleveland. The Houston Astros saw Vincent Velasquez take the loss for HOU. The aforementioned Corey Kluber won for CLE along with a Save from Bryan Shaw. This four-game series is tied 1-1. Whomever goes 2-1 depends on what happens Wednesday night for Game 3 of this set.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday, including Kansas City scoring a walk-off Grand Slam in Game 1 of their doubleheader with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Cleveland wins again. They beat my Astros 4-2. We led 2-0 after the first inning. Either the Astros thought two runs would be enough to beat the Indians, or Cleveland simply played better and harder to show they were the better team. The series finale is tomorrow night. Astros thinking split while Cleveland is thinking series win.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday.

After getting swept by the Brew Crew, the Reds took the first 2 against the Nationals (with a 2 hit, 11 K, 1 BB, shutout gem by Cueto in game 2) before tonight's game was postponed due to rain. Makeup date to be announced later.

Speaking of Cueto, he is likely to have 1 more start for us before the All-Star Break. It may be his last depending on when (not if) he gets traded. It will be sad to see him go, as he's been outstanding as his time as a Red. If not for Kershaw's otherworldly year last season, he would more than likely have a Cy Young Award. I also can see Chapman being gone here soon. I'll miss seeing him simply overpowering and striking out the side to end so many games.
