I am still up for this. Currently lacking the PS4, but that will come when I get the game. I currently only really play GT6 in the seasonals mostly at the mo, if anyone still plays that add me Skaankypuppy.

The series is starting to take shape, I'm more of a lurker than poster, but will be happy with whatever the majority decide.

Still here too...., in seeing the last few posts, it appears that 90 or most of us will prefer to drive in helm or cockpit view, so why not lock at that view,

Reason why I am saying this is that, if one or two players play with chase cam they will have the unfair advantage to the rest of the cars, where by there spacial awareness will be greatly improved in comparison to the other drivers on the track.

I have to disagree, it should be open to keep the racing as clean as possible.
If some people are not use to cockpit it could lead to messy racing, its the first series on a new game/SIM let people run what they are comfortable with, clean racing is the key 👍

I have to agree with Zaksspeed if 3rd person view is prefered by someone they should be able to use it. Besided what advantage does iy give them?

Not sure, 3rd person view would make me slower, it just feels so wrong when using a wheel.

I know some very fast pad users who use 3rd person tho

Guess I have to agree to disagree,
If one is new to cockpit mode, it takes time to adjust and get up to speed, but once you're used to it you can be just as fast with cockpit as any other view. Birds eye view does give you better spatial awareness but that helps more with collision avoidance than outright speed.

Being involved in several successful series, I highly recommend using the GTP Online Racing Rules and Guidelines otherwise known as the GTP OLR. It really works to get everyone on the same page as far as standardized behaviour on track, when a pass is considered legal or not, who gives way in the corner, dispute resolution etc. Most successful series run through GTP adopt it outright or some very close version of it.

I find that in my limited time driving in 3rd person makes me break to late thus missing the apex of the corner. Plus I also have no feel as to what the car is doing. Is it tight or loose type thing.

Thank you for the link, I recommend everyone read it.

Guys we aren't having a set Camera view. Let people Drive how they want.
OK so having read your first page again, perhaps post
What I and Johnny linked for you,it will save you a big headache.
Whether or not you will include assists.
View is optional.
As for disconnects, well people have been known to hit the PS button and just sign out if they don't like a start or other things,so I would be careful of that.
Hopefully most people are hardwired and not borrowing WiFi from McDonalds or Bubba next door.

Finally a day off. I never have liked 3rd person. Now for like gta5, o yes. Me likeeeey! Got to see the carnage. Now one thing I would like to get right is the fov. I'm using a 50 inch screen and have a forza playseat that my nephew gave me. Lucked out with that one. But anyway, I'm currently looking for a TV Stand that will straddle the pedals and bar so I can get the TV directly behind the wheel. I want it to look like it my wheel seamlessly comes from the dash on screen. Now eventually I plan on doing a diy build. I find the playseat feels more f1 style than gt3. But it's comfortable. Anyone want to share there builds, build plans or pics, feel free.

I highly recommend that everyone if they can use a cable from the modem and not use wifi. I know this is sometimes impossible for some people. It use to be for me. WiFi can sometimes be unstable. It's my understanding you get a lower ping when wired compared to wifi. Just a suggestion.;)

I read the OP for the first time in a few weeks and have to agree with @killerjimbag , this thing about disconnects is opening a huge can of worms. I've quit a couple of series in the past because huge amounts of time were wasted at the beginning of races accomodating people with crappy internet connections and also waiting for others who were late. More often than not, people who have trouble connecting will disconnect during the race anyway so waiting for them to sort things out is completely annoying. It's your series you can do as you please obviously, but my advice would be to suggest everyone hardwire because no allowances will be made for disconnects.

I'd also suggest a different strategy with race incidents. Having the stewards handle everything just turns the stewards into babysitters. If the participants aren't willing to do the work of sorting out their own incidents, you shouldn't be bothered with it either. Here you will find a list of recommendations I made to a series organizer about handling race incidents. ITCC is a series that had great potential and a huge turnout in the beginning, but I and a few others quit due to poor organization, wishy-washy rules and wishy-washy rules enforcement. If you ever venture into any of the ITCC threads, you'll find endless pages of petty bickering due to the lack of clear guidelines and poor leadership on behalf of the race organizer.
Race Incidents:

Come to me or a Race organizer. Explain your issue. Record the incident If you can. We will dedetermine the outcome. Depending on how bad the Incident was. Penalized points, will range from 5 to 20 Point Range.
Disconnects If you get Disconnected in less then 2 Laps Completed we will start over. That also goes for all Tiers. If you get Disconnected, after or more then 2 Laps you will get last place Points.

Your thoughts are good on people disconnecting. I do like the idea of last Points for disconnects as well. Another good point, on being hard wired. I'm hard wired. I'll never run Wifi playing video games. I do think it's a good idea for being hard wired. A lot more will be updated in weeks to come!

Thankfully I'm hard wired, I had to fight where I live to get my room wired but the wifi here is awful, and management undersood my needs. But remember not everyone can be wired.

If there's a way you can be hard wired. I would recommend that you are. You'll have a lot better time playing. If you can not be wired. Try and bring your cable modem closer to your ps4. That will limit disconnects
