Here it is at last - alpha 4.1 is complete and ready for download.

Highlights in this version are the addition of the Acura dealership, and both Opel and Vauxhall being available in all languages, along with the return of the majority of GT1's Special Colour cars, the NSX-R LM GT2, and a handful of cars that PD cut from GT2.

Due to the newly discovered limit on the maximum number of car bodies that the game can support, this doesn't include some of the entirely custom content made recently, however anything of mine will likely see an independent release later.

As always, the download and full changelogs are in the first post, and the changes from alpha 3 are below.

I have the PAL version patched with Alpha 3. Could I patch again but with version 4? or simply I take Gt2 pal without patches and I apply Alpha 4? With respect to the saved game, will I lose my progress? Thank you

You must have a GT2 without patches and the Alpha 3 savegame ISN'T compatible with the Alpha 4.1, or rather, you can use it, but will cause glitches

As Sal said, your save will be usable but you'll find all your cars to be broken (that's due to added/removed data in the car files).
Also yes it's a safe bet you should always start from a clean GT2 PAL copy instead of a pre-patched one.

THank you very much for Alpha 4.1!
Also, hope that one day you'll release the Alfa 155 Q4 as a separate add-on. I was really looking forward to the Alfa, but I can't complain as there's plently to enjoy as it is :)

Unfortunately he must removed it due to space limitations. Also I was sad when in Alpha 4.1 there isn't...

I've been following this thread almost religiously so I'm aware you had to make some tough, tough choices. I had already given up on the Venturi but I was honestly expecting to see the Alfa rather than the Vectra as it's a much more exotic car (being very biased here). But I remember reading that PD cut the Alfa very early in development so I suppose the Vectra was left in a much more developped stage. There's plenty to discover in Alpha 4.1 anyways :)

More or less, yeah - the Vectra was actually made and implemented but replaced with the GSi last minute, while the 155 Q4 doesn't seem to have ever been planned by PD. There was a '155 GTA' car logo in one of the demos, but nothing of the Q4. Since the Vectra is 95% PD's work, it goes in and the Q4 gets left out.

Can the Alfa Romeo 155 Q4 enter to the 4WD Challenge?

No, because it's not in the game.

Being more serious, the event only checks for a 4WD drivetrain, so yes, it would have been able to, like the other 4WD cars that have been added.

Someone knows if this works on the PSP? I tried converting the Alpha 3 and the game freezes when I enter any car dealership...

I don't have a PSP, kinda useless for me. But alpha 3 works on my Android just fine. Haven't tried alpha 4.1 yet.
Yeah, I'm playing on Android too. I was wandering if this works on the PSP, cause' I have a PSP Go, and GT2 runs more smoothly on the PSP.

So far most people seem to not having been able to play it on console i'm afraid. Psp, Vita.. I think also PS1? I don't remember. There must be something we're not aware of yet hat the hardware or Sony's official emulation doesn't like about it. IT works perfectly fine on epsxe and other emulators it seems however.

No, I've not touched the audio side of things at all.

As for compatibility with specific platforms, there's not much point in going through all of the bother of trying to guess what they don't like about the mod until it's complete, as it's going to keep changing.

Holy crap, I never realised how much worse the OST of the PAL version is!

@pez2k
You got any tools to replace songs? :D

I have made custom audio soundtracks to enjoy, check out my Mega linked in my profile. There you will find some soundtrack files to use. You'll have to CDmage B5, to replace music.dat files. And also I'm waiting for my hdd2usb adaptor to arrive to get the programs I've used off my old hard-drive.

does it take long to convert the 4.1 from pal to ntsc 1.0-1.2 ?

The point of getting 4.1 out was so that everyone has something to play with while I spend the time writing and updating tools to make a multi-region release possible. I'm not giving any timescales for the next version because I've just spent every moment of free time since Xmas working on alpha 4 / 4.1, and I want a break.
