Would it be possible to somehow hack other theme's objects into Eifel Flat? I'm thinking with Sierra's houses it would look more like a town :D

My research and attempts have not given any success in that area, if my understanding of the Unity Game Engine is accurate the 1st hurdle is unpacking Unity's AssetBundles, Trackside Objects will be assets called 'Prefabs' which need to be edited and re-bundled in Unity as they will be specific to the theme. It is possible I believe, but it would require a good knowledge of Unity, Assembly and C#, then you re-build the entire APK. If I am not entirely correct I apologise, I'm trying to learn from the beginning, so I tend to get a little muddled.

Only things transfered about the "Decoration" to PS3 are:
  1. ID (Unique ID for each type of object)
  2. RAILTYPE (Normal, Start, Goal, Checkpoint or Home Straight)
  3. Start Position (100 meters) = starts at 100 meter point of the track
  4. End Position (125 meters) = 25 meter block
  5. TRACK_TYPE (How far from the track the item is placed)
Now by changing the ID to match the ID from another track object, the object should change. However, if it's not listed for that theme, there is no way the game can render it because it doesn't have such id.

Now I don't know if there is "hidden" trackside objects but from what I tested a long ago -> didn't find any.

So in order to steal the objects from other themes, you would need to modify the game and not the tablet application.

You can find and change those ID:s inside the rail_def -xml files. Aswell as change how often the randomly generated objects appear (Andalusia resting points for example).

I haven't been at home on the weekend for past few weeks.
I'll hopefully get around to it soon.
Ok cool.
Thanks very much..
I made a Route X, with wings, a week of tuning it here & there, 9,800ft elevation, top speeds reached, 2220mph, 8440mph, 68,792mph... A friend of mine got the last one. Absolutely Insane...

Just Mach 89.5, no big deal.

Well I'm done with long tracks now. Sick of crashing my console. It's been fun though.
Talking of crashing consoles, I'm attempting this atm but it's crashing on exit so I'm going to have to dial it in a bit :)
I call it Nord De la Sarthe Schleife lol

Arrggghhhh :( can't get it to stop crashing on exit !! I've knocked almost 3-4km off & still no joy.
I'm starting to think it's not so much the length but how much of the map I've used to create it (or both).
I might just release it anyway with a warning like my 48hrs of Hell track.

Okay, more testing on Eifel has led me to believe that there is something definitely up with the theme itself. Now my Isle of Man TT course is huge ! A whopping 35.250km & the track goes out of bounds on 3 sides in Andalusia, yet it works flawlessly.
Yet I've been having a little trouble with my new project (see above post) so I thought well how much do I have to cut off this track before it becomes stable ? So I recreated the Nordschleife part only, 20.6km of it. Well it loaded, I took the GT40 spec 2 test car for a spin, then went to exit & Bang!!! Bloody thing froze on me again, it's 15km shorter than my IoM track ffs just what is with this theme ?
I feel like giving up on it now :(
If anyone wants to try the test course it's available on my page but it will crash on exit so I'll delete it soon

Yep, just tried CDLN48 and I was worried it would crash one point in the track, finished the race and when I exited, it froze.
I tried to go online with my friend so that he could see it, but the game froze when creating the room.

Fantastic track though, I am excited. :embarrassed:

I found with Eifel I could get around 12-13 miles before it would crash the ps3. Andalucia seems to be best for long circuits.
Yeh the problem with Andalusia is the black part's of the map, it's a dead cert your going to get a floating tree or house on your track, I got pretty lucky with the the TT track in that respect.

Found these same issues myself.

Anyone found a way to make actual junctions/intersections in the TPE and have it be able to load in the game/not crash the system?

What I am trying to create is a main road that closes off at a junction to start heading into one of the towns. This can kinda be replicated with sudden 90 degree corners and two anchors very close to each other, but you have to return back to the same main road again.

Forgive my quick MS Paint drawing.

However, I would rather the main road seemingly continued on after you have turned off, like so...

I have tried to do this by having a set of anchors along the main road, then have one double back on itself perfectly, then place the junction on the previous anchor. Attempting this is a guarantee that the track will not load. Any other method that might work?

You're an absolute beast Mr G!!
I've given up :( can't be bothered :(
Mate, you got patience. I must say though I never thought about trying the track on a different theme to solve track length issues, just went straight for Eiffel as it has the largest area......
"....the Doctor is about to operate."

I'm in the process of recreating it on Andalusia :) so far I've created the Nordschleife part at 20.5km (only 100m short of the official) & without any pop up houses or tree's :).
The question is now where do I put Le Sarthe :( I might see if I can squeeze it in the middle :)
Something like this.....

This was a previous attempt with too many pop up trees on the road hence the reason why I'm redoing it

Please don't sacrifice me to the racing gods for this...

No, this isn't off topic, I've created this is course maker, with the super-tight Ascari replacement.

It's nearly ready :) just a few finishing tweaks here & there :)

The ultimate endurance track is sort of ready just smoothing a few last corners, feel free to grab a test drive of the beta from my page before it goes on general release :)

Well, now that the original title of this thread is completely irrelevant, what should it be changed to?

Am I the only one who hates the curbing on Andalusia? I've flipped cars on them before now, there just too steep.

Just learnt a new thing regarding long track's !!
I've just released my new Circuit De La Nordschleife track without curbs mainly because of the above statement. Anyway it's stable, no crashing or anything :) but then I decided to add a little curbing so I revisited the TPE to add curbs. Once I'd finished I loaded it up, went for a test drive, then it crashed on exit ! Just for adding curbs.

I hate them too. We should be able to select from 3 styles of curbing for all themes: high (same as Anda), medium, low (same as Eifel). I rarely put curbing on my tracks because it just ruins the "backroads" feel. Even worse because you can't remove the guardrails on Anda & Eifel.

I shortened my AndaluSchleife and added a few trackside trees a la 'Green Hell' and got exactly the same result - crashed on exit. Utter b......$. :grumpy:

The behaviour of the TPE is very random regarding limits.
I had a strange one last night, I was in a lobby & someone was running my Isle of Man track which I know is stable (I've even used it online) but every time I entered my PS3 crashed :(

Wondering if maybe the game itself is not happy with modded tracks now, can't get my shorter track to load at all, just got '999:59.999' when crossing S/F line......:banghead:

I got a lobby open with my Circuit De La Nordschleife 48hr track if anyone interested.
It's easy to find.... it's called Circuit De La Nordschleife 48hr lol
