I love it in every other racing game except this one. When Codies' version pulls out BS like throwing my car in the air at 90 degree angles just for clipping the inside barrier with a tyre I really can't be bothered retrying this rubbish.
Codies need to sort out the physics and collision and damage models for 2011. And the tunnel!

You guys are mad. Monaco is awesome, sure there are some issues with the barrier collision physics but you shouldn't be hitting the barriers anyway 
Besides, I'm sure they will fix it for F1 2011.
Either way, there is nothing better than pulling off a quick, clean lap there and in the rain it is terrifying

You guys are mad. Monaco is awesome, sure there are some issues with the barrier collision physics but you shouldn't be hitting the barriers anyway
Besides, I'm sure they will fix it for F1 2011.
Either way, there is nothing better than pulling off a quick, clean lap there and in the rain it is terrifying
I don't have a problem with the barriers being punishing, but were talking a light brush on the sidewall of the tyre - at worst this should cause slight wheel damage or even puncture the tyre...not throw my car in air!
F1:CE had it good enough, punctures if you touched the wall too much and taking the wheels off if you hit them too hard.
I agree its satisfying to pull off a great lap at Monaco but Codies' Monaco isn't enjoyable because it over-punishes you for something very minor. In the real world I would get away with touching the barriers lightly.
Not only that but after being thrown in the air, Codies' damage model is rediculous anyway as long as you hit with the rear or side of the car you'll be perfectly fine.
I dont care how good you think you are Monaco is Not a plesure in an F1 car....so what if we can all get round in the wet with all aids off and win by 20 seconds on the hardest level...
Im talking comparitively and as a driver other tracks **** on it, I like a track to do all the work.

Haha, dude you need to chill out. So you hate the track because you think its too hard. I love the track because it's a constant challenge. If I had to pick one track to hot lap, it would Monaco every time.
And that analogy about the girlfriends? I don't want to delve into your personal life but it appears you are the only one who is upset

Monaco is the pinnacle of motorsports. There are 3 races that are considered the pinnacle of motorsports, Indy 500, 24 hours of LeMans and Monaco. Those are said to be the hardest and most challenging. If you're saying it's hard or unnecessarily difficult then you miss the point of the track. At the same time, F1 is the pinnacle of motorsports racing. Most technologically advanced cars in the world. If that track is too challenging for you then maybe mariocart maybe more your speed. I'm an average driver and find it very difficult. Took me a month to get 7th in qualifying and first in the race on intermediate.
Watch "truth in 24" and Allan McNish talking about what are the pinnacles of motorsports racing. He specifically notes Monaco as one of the three. If you haven't seen that already you need to watch it anyway. Anyone that loves racing should see that movie. Best motorsports movie made IMHO.

I used to love Monaco on F1:CE, because it felt realistic, as when you touched a barrier, there was the chance of recieving a puncture or even your hole tyre falling off, however, on F1 2010, what generally happens when you hit the wall is you go airbourne and you might as well be on a flying game. Although you can still get punctures etc.
Also, when going through sectors 1 and 3, my game jumps quite a lot. I'm not sure whether this related to how much scenary Codies have put into that area.
Having said that, it's very rewarding when you do complete a race there

Not much in the way of overtaking...Only a couple of corners offer any G...

I'd love to see the sources that F1 cars don't like it (cars haz feelinz?!), or that 90% of F1 drivers dislike it.
The reason it's so famous is because of how challenging it is. If you think it's difficult now, you wouldn't last a lap with how it used to be.
