If the race started 1 hour earlier (8:30pm Eastern) would you participate?

Diabolic, I usually pass one AI car on the inside at Bacharach as they lose control and spin to the inside first and then recover to the outside. I have been burned a few times trying to pass on the outside. Also leave plenty of space. When they recover, if they bump into you while they are ahead, you will be DQ'd...

Bacharach is the turn before Gambon. And you're right, they do. I can never decide to go out or in.

I've posted final race specs for Monday's March race. Significant changes include:
* everyone will use the 2007 Nissan March (Premium). It has way more power than the other March/Micras and is only like 10,000 Cr. I don't want anyone accidentally showing up with an underpowered car and rage quitting.
* PP is 375. stock this car is 355-ish. This will allow for some tuning, but will keep things relatively close to stock.
* Race structure is 2 x 10 lap races, then 1 x 20 lap race, then 1 final 10 lap race. In total we're looking at something around 75 minutes of racing including breaks between races. I threw in that 20 lap race hoping that the extra time would allow for a field spread and possibly some figure-8 mayhem.
* A few other race specs clarified (trying false start this time, penalties on to prevent short cuts, etc.)

Also, I'm going to spend some time later this week formatting the race specs to mirror the GUI in the game. The look may change but none of the specs will.

If you have feedback get it up quick. I'll check back in later tonight, but hope to have everything concrete by 10pm

CAM are you suggesting we move the Super GT race up to this coming Monday (the 14th?) or the 21st? Really need to figure this out by tonight.
No, keep the dates and events as-is. Have Suzuka East on stand-by as a Plan B in case if all interested parties cannot get access to the TGTT online.

I have it. Feel free to look at it, if you can show me how to share it. Do I need to record it and then upload it to youtube?

You can export it to the xmb and copy to an portable drive and then upload to some sort of file hosting service.

I would love to see the replay as well. I think it was the most consistent endurance race I've done.

Also, I hope the estate/family car races come to be. The Volvo Estate is parked in the UCD and I'm looking for a reason to buy it. Is it me..or are the estates all a bit out of proportion, particularily in the rear quarter.

This race is definitely going to happen. The proposition was to do a 240GL vs. Odyssey race. There are lots of other wagons (Legacy), SUVs (FX45 Concept) and vans (Sambabus) that we could potentially pull together for a really entertaining race.

As far as the replay goes, I'll PSN it to everyone tonight when I get home from work. I apologize for the lack of pictures or sending out the replay but I've only been home to my house for about 10 minutes since the race Monday night.

If we do do a SambaBus race, it should be on a street course. :) Maybe Tokyo R246?

Didnt think you could send replays of PSN. Maybe Im missing something somewhere?

you're probably right. You can send attachments in messages, just not sure if there is a file size limit or anything. I'll get it up here one way or another (you can host 1MB zip files on GTPlanet free).

Only attachments I have received on PSN were pictures. You should be allowed to send files though or maybe PD needs to have a way to share replays.

I'll give it a shot when I get home. If it's impossible I'll try to host it here at GTPlanet. If that's not possible I'll drink some beer and get on with my life.

EDIT: or maybe email it to someone who has a better attention span than myself and has a file hosting website hookup.

Best idea ever.

Mediafire is real good as well. If you can't psn it send me a pm and I'll shoot you my e-mail address and see if I can get it put up online. Perhaps if we have the others we can link them all in the results thread.

It would be awesome if we could get these things up on youtube but I'm not down with the outlay for a capture card. It wouldn't be all that bad just sharing the replay file from GT5 if there was a way to fast forward/rewind.

FWIW I've been saving replays since Eiger (way back when, right?). Would be great to get these all available online.

No way to send it from the PS3. You have to copy it to a flash drive, put it on the computer, zip it, share it, then people have to download it, put it on a flash drive, copy it to their PS3, boot up GT5, and then import the replay. It's annoying and I really wish they could fix whatever issues caused them to hold back the youtube upload feature.

PD should rethink their youtube replay feature. If I was them I would make a separate program that can convert and upload to youtube and then turn the ps3 off since they say the conversion took to long to implement in GT5.

And it shouldnt really be hard to do because they already have the software to convert to youtube videos or they wouldnt have known it takes a long time.

It's not looking good for getting a replay hosted quickly. Can't send it via PSN, and the Eiger replay is 51MB uncompressed. Taking over to windows in a second, hopefully the file structure can be compressed heavily.

EDIT: 0% compression.

ZING!

I don't think that was the entire reason. There are games that support youtube upload just fine. But If I know what KY is like, he wanted 720p export and that is what took too long. So rather than limiting it to 480p, they just removed the feature for the time being until they can get better performance with HD export.

Is there a way to fast forward/rewind the replays? A race that is 90 minutes take a long time to watch...
It should only take about 90 minutes. ;)

Looks like all those cars were entered into a demolish derby.... ;)

yeah, and i only made it to lap 20 with photos

also, sorry the pics are so bad. the photomode was really screwy in this replay (f-stop and shutter speed weren't working, sometimes the camera didn't aim where i wanted to). Ended up just giving up.
