Monday Night Racing

April 8 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

Car: AUDI TTS Coupe 2009, 268 HP, 3120 lbs, Tires=Comfort Soft, (target PP = 489.84)

Add the FC Suspension, Differential, Torque-Vectoring Differential if you want the split, and the Manual Transmission.

Even in default form, the car handles nicely, but it can be improved. Practice around other cars without contact because its handling is interesting. The tracks are quite different with only the first two curves common to each track

Sardegna Road Track C, Tires = 14X Fuel = 7X*, (14)
Sardegna Road Track B, Tires = 13X Fuel = 7X*, (9)

Car: Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.4, 295 HP, 2249 lbs, Tires = Sport Soft, (target PP = 595-ish)

Add the Racing Transmission.

The 4C is very consistent and comfortable to drive, a fun little car. If you only get to practice on one track, St Croix B Reverse would be your best choice.

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Daytona Tri-oval, Tires = 15X Fuel = 5X, (16)

Car: Lamborghini Urus 2018, 672 HP, 4844 lbs, Tires = Sport Medium, (target PP = 561.08)

Add the normal FC Suspension, Differential and Manual Transmission. Both the Vectoring Differential and the Brake Controller can help.

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Dragon Trail Reverse, Tires = 4X Fuel = 3X*, (8)
Maggiore Full Course, Tires = 4X Fuel = 2X, (7)
Tokyo South Counter-clockwise, Tires = 4X Fuel = 2X, (8)

The stock tires just aren't enough, so they were upped to Mediums. You still have to acclimate to all of that weight, so practice is highly recommended.

Car: Toyota Corolla GR MORIZO Edition, 299 HP, 3186 lbs, Tires = Comfort Soft, (target PP = 496.07)

Add the Fully Customisable Suspension, Manual Transmission, Differential, Vectoring Differential. It is advantageous to use the Brake Controller.

This is one fun, little car! There is enough power to drift it, with some benefit on some curves, at the cost of the tires. Keep it constrained, though, because it is easy to go too far. If you want the front outside tire to survive, don't let it slide.

Car: Renault Megane Trophy Gr.4, 359 HP, 2105 lbs, Tires: Sport Soft & Racing Hard, (target PP = 637ish w/SS)

Add the FC Transmission.

On Blue Moon, Sport Soft tires are fine. Unusually, SS on Group 4 cars are a great match. Not on this car on road courses. Weird.

Fuji Full Course, Tires = 4X Fuel = 4X, (10)
Suzuka GP, Tires = 5X Fuel =5X, (8)
Nurburgring 24Hr, Tires = 4X Fuel = Fuel = 3*, (3)

These three tracks are three real life tracks that the car ran on in real life. The three laps at Nurburgring will take about 25 minutes mimicking a 24 hour race. It would be wise of you to practice on the 24Hr track at the least. So far, the car doesn't handle curbs well.

The next MNR will be a bit different because of the van - the VW Samba Typ-2.

There will be 1 set of 3 races using the typical MNR set-up, then 3 races with a 200 PP set-up on different tracks.

Monday Night Racing

June 3 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

Car: VW Samba Bus Typ-2, 33 HP, 2414 lbs, Tires = Comfort Hard, target PP = 117.91

Set #1: Add the usual Fully Customizable Suspension, Differential, Manual Transmission.

Set 2: add the FC Computer, Racing Muffler, Tires = Comfort Soft, target PP = 199.01

VW-Samba-Typ-2-Ahrweiler.jpg

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Set #1:

Northern Isle Speedway, Tires = 50X Fuel= 50X, (28)
Broad Bean Raceway Reverse, Tires - 50X Fuel= 50X, (16)
Miyabi, Tires = 50X Fuel = 38X, (12)

Set #2:
Alsace Test Course, Tires = 50X Fuel = 32X, (12)
Maggiore West, Tires = 50X Fuel = 39X, (8)
Tsukuba, Tires = 50X Fuel = 32X, (6)

Fuel will be an issue on most tracks, but it can be handled easily.
Momentum will be key with the Samba Bus.

I will try to make time change interesting, but some tracks, such as BB, have issues with it.

Car: VW GTI Supersport VGT, 551 HP, 2646 lbs, Tires = Sport Soft. By changing only the rear downforce, the PP range was between about 683-688 PP.

This wonderful VGT car does not have full adjustability, but with only 4.80 lbs per HP and being so consistent, you should have a fun night.

Monday 6/10 was a fun night of racing! It was my first time meeting up, good range of skill level, I loved the wall penalties (keeps you honest...maybe a little too honest hahaha). I will say the fuel savings threw me for a loop as I ran out in one race and had to back off another. Most of all its a good group of guys, i liked the banter, ill see yall next Monday 6/17 to redeem myself!

On a side note... how many races do we run each night I think I left early?

Thanks for your feedback, Hoax311! I appreciate that.

Usually, because of the amount of planning and testing, there are three races and most of us repeat them a second time, for a bit of redemption for any errors that we make.

As for features used, if it is in the game, it is fair game. 😳

I look forward to racing with you next week.

Car: Ferrari F40 1992, 471, 2425,Tires = Sport Medium, (target PP = 630.21)

Add the normal Fully Customizable Suspension, Differential, Manual Transmission. In addition to those, add the Racing Brakes and Pads, so that the car will actually slow down. The Brake Controller is also very useful.

The F40 and F50 are available now, so get both of them now.

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Monza No Chicane, Tires = 12X Fuel = 3X, (10)
Dragon Trail Seaside, Tires = 12X Fuel = 4X, (8)
Bathurst, Tires = 12X Fuel = 4X, (7)

If it works as planned, Bathurst will be half & half daylight / night. Default lightbulbs do half of their job, so I recommend buying the 9500K bulbs. Oh, and do everyone a favour, including yourself, practice there, too.

Car: Radical SR3 SL 2013, 239 HP, 1709 lbs, Tires = SH, (target PP* = 561.35 or 544.97)

* Because the SR3 is both a street car and a racing car, choose whichever FC Transmission that you like.

Add the usual FC Suspension, Differential, and I found the Brake Controller to be useful, too.

This is not the easiest car to drive stock, but a tune sure helps. Tuning this also isn't the easiest challenge that it presents, either. But, we will do our best tonight, so please join us on the fun.

Car: NISSAN GT-R GT500 2008, 527 HP, 2425 lbs, Tires = Racing Hard, (Target PP = 783-785 based on downforce)

Add the racing Transmission. I didn't change the brake balance, and you may not need the controller.

July 29 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

This coming MNR will be another 5th Monday Special Event with four timed races! It will also be a test of the new update, for all of us, so I hope you will join in on the fun.

You will also have some car choice, with some restrictions. I haven't tested the driving line yet, so I highly recommend at least turning on the yellow map pins. Eiger Nordwand is chock full of pinch-points *, so no dive bombing or contact. A wide entrance line is not an invitation to bang everyone around.

Race #1: Small Street Cars, 15 minutes: Max 542 PP, 482 HP, Tires = Sport Hard @ Tsukuba
Race #2: Small Race Cars, 20 minutes: 560 PP, Tires = Comfort Soft @ Dragon Trail Gardens
Race #3: Big Street Cars, 25 minutes: 400 HP, 2800 lbs, Tires = Sport Medium @ Eiger Nordwand, Reverse
Race #4: Big Race Cars **, 30 minutes, 940 PP, Tires = Race Medium @ Yamagiwa

* Pinch-points.pdf
** No open-wheeled cars, Red Bull, or above, including the Mazda LM55.

The cars that I used to set up these races are:

Race #1: SONY/Honda AFEELA
Race #2: Shelby Daytona
Race#3: NISM?O 400 R
Race #4: McLaren VGT

Don't hit what you can see. [SCCA rulebook]

Over the past 6 weeks, an average of 46 people viewed our MNR thread every day.

It would be wonderful to have even 45 people show up for a night of racing!

Interested?

Car: BMW M3 1997, 316 HP, 3219, Tires = Comfort Soft, (target PP = 504.97)

Add the usual FC Suspension, Differential, Manual Transmission. The steering adapter does not change PP values but it vastly improves steering effectiveness at Eiger. You may or may not need the Brake controller because the car is already well balanced and handles well in stock form. You still need to be careful with your right foot.

Car: Subaru Impreza Rally Car 1998, 200 HP, 2712 lbs, Tires = Dirt, Snow, Road = Max Racing Hard, Racing Transmission, Steering Adapter

This is a fun and consistent car, when tuned. The Steering Adapter sure helps at Willow Springs. Split tires on the front help with tire wear.
