The theme for BWPC week 87 as chosen by week 86 winner, Solo, is people at work. This can be doing their job, studying at school or any other form of work. This will close on Wednesday 17th February 2016 at 23:59 GMT.

Additionally going forwards, large composite images will not be allowed in the BWPC. Having discussed it I do not think that it is within the spirit of the competition, much like excessive photoshopping is not which was discussed at the creation of this competition. If you have any questions about this feel free to ask me.

I don't want to end up with a Nikon situation here...

Funny coincidence. I have to make some pictures at work tomorrow for promotional use. But for this I'll try to leave all the marketing cliches out of it and try to go for something more honest and representative.

First off, sweet theme! 👍

Secondly I'm curious if this is as a result of not only the Nikon thing but also my image submitted for the best of? I say this because it's could look like a composite, and was obviously photoshopped. It's actually not a composite though. It was shot outdoors and harshly backlit. The photoshop that was done is a heavy S curve, some erasing of any details (not many) that weren't blown out from the curves adjustment around the edges of the subject as well as some removal of hairs and fuzz on the jacket. Most of which could easily be done in the darkroom.

If it's too much you can remove it from the contest but I was never aware of this discussion on photoshopping of images. I do think it's a tricky subject and rule to enforce. It seems highly subjective. I'll go back and try to find the discussion so I can be up to date.

Why are you the winner of week86? I think we both got 3 votes. Did I mis something?

Just a FYI - my ability to contribute to regular comps is somewhat constrained now being primarily on film. Two weeks isnt enough for me to shoot and develop, so unless the rules are relaxed a bit to allow pics of a subject shot prior to the announcement of the current comps topic, I'm going to be patchy. I'll do my best though 👍

The rules allow for it, it only says it's preferred that the picture is taken after the announcement of the theme. 👍

Btw my latest entry is a crop of the original, shame on me. Just felt like I had to tell you after our crop discussion! ;)

It wasn't really looking at your image as I'm happy with that style of editing it was more that there had been an image submitted before that was more than one image stitched together which is not really something I'm interested in having in this competition. I am well aware it's difficult to enforce but I'm happy to allow editing of single images and whilst yes you can tell that yours is edited so are many of the other entries but that is a level to which I'm happy to accept.
Does that clear it up for you at all?

I do believe you're talking about me in that essence (which I'm completely fine with, never knew stitches weren't allowed). But to be fair, and imo, that was my best shot(s) of 2015, and getting into astrophotography was what I have been trying to do for a little over a year and a half now.

I'll try however to make the following shots fit better.

unfortunately I wasn't allowed to post the picture's i made from work due to legal issues. So I made a timelapse of me editting my movie a couple of weeks ago because we thought it would be nice for a making-of this is a still from that one. The movie is called campus ninja because of the theme i decided to pull my hoodie on :P for those who might wonder why i went for half an second shutterspeed thats because it makes things more blurry and in an timelapse this gives a better flow from one image to another. Have a nice weekend guys!

The theme for week 89 as chosen by week 87 winner, @Swagger897, is: Wildlife. Doesn't have to be actually in the wild, just not domesticated.

This will close at 23:59 GMT Wednesday 9th March 2016.
