@casey_2005 - have to say I really prefer that shot in color :P Was gonna say something on flickr but you've disabled comments?

@Crash wasn't much of a fan of the b&w either and I'm actually not much of a fan of the photo in general. Had I framed more to the right and got the shoppers looking for bags it may have been more to my liking, I hope to replace it with something else.

I've been doing the whole wifi jpegs from my camera to my iPad thing and since I was doing some street stuff I had the camera set to b&w, after Crash mentioned something I decided to dive into the raw and see what I could come up with. That was actually at iso 20,000 but thanks to Lr it cleaned up pretty well. Definitely better in color. 👍

As for the flickr comments I'm not sure, I did realize the photo was set to private for a while so perhaps that had something to do with it.

Dunno.

Curious what your jpeg settings are, as I was pretty underwhelmed what how they were processed on the A7. Not a big deal since I shoot/edit RAW generally, but that might change when I can/want to make use of the wifi feature.

@Azuremen - Are there many settings for jpeg? When I do color I just use the standard creative style and with b&w I use the default b&w creative style, sharpening may have been at +3. There seems to be a decent amount of settings in the Picture Profiles but I haven't really messed with that much aside from shooting some video in s-log.

The wifi thing is nice but damn is it limited, which is actually why I started doing it, to hopefuly simplify my workflow. I'm very unorganized when it comes to data management, too many untitled folders in untitled folders.

What are you using for WiFi?
I can't speak for Sony but the Nikon software is the same, extremely lacking.

Coincidentally just today I was playing around with DSLRDashboard connected to my D750 and it's pretty feature rich. I assume it will work with the Sony as there is an option to connect to Sony within the app.

I am currently using the PlayMemories Mobile app on my iPad to transfer images but instead of saying wifi is limited, which it actually kind of is for my taste, I should have said jpegs are limited. I don't use wifi much for controlling the camera but when I do it's lame. I'll look in the DSLRDashboard program and I might also get an app for the iPad that lets me work with raws, I do have one but the version doesn't allow me to save anything.

Take it Sunny 16 doesn't have much relevance on that side of the pond?
I'd been shooting indoors and forgot to change the ISO upon leaving uni. But I'd also never considered Sunny 16 rule. I think if I followed it I would end up with rather underexposed images though.

The theme for week #72 as chosen by week 70 winner, @Azuremen, is as follows:
Following a recent project, the theme for the next round will be structures, architecture, and buildings.
This will close on Friday 5th June at 11:59pm BST.

Well those two have just blown away the shot I was hoping to get out and take in the next day or so.
Great shots guys. 👍

Hi guys, apologies it's a few days late but here is the new theme as chosen by week 70 runner up, @casey_2005:
Portraits.
Yep, it's that simple! Week 70 winner, @Shaun, passed on his option to pick a theme. This will officially close on Friday 19th June at 23:59 BST, but in reality I will likely give you until the end of that weekend as it's an incredibly busy couple of days for me at that point.

A portrait can be candid in this case, yeah?
As you clearly have a shot in mind to use, no, no candids. :P

I don't really see any reason why you can't. A portrait is a photo of a person; how you went about getting said shot (either staged or candid) seems irrelevant to me, but @casey_2005 and @Solo should get the final say.

@Boffin - How candid you talking? I personally would prefer that the subject or subjects acknowledged their photo was being taken, even if only for a short time, but for the sake of entry turnout we probably shouldn't be too strict. I'd say go as candid as you want as long as you get a sense of who the person is or what they're feeling, the photo should be about them.

I'm gonna try to do the opposite and do a studio portrait

Cooool. I think I have something that fits the bill.

Can we submit selfies? Does that count?

On a more serious note, would it be too much work to include the title of the pictures in the voting thread first post and poll?

My apologies on this front, I had started doing this but have forgotten in recent weeks. I will endeavour to return to putting the names of images up too.
