That worked fine in GT3. I know some people disagree, but I don't see anything wrong with fantasy cars. Fantasy does not mean unrealistic, not in the slightest. And if you can't get the real thing, is having a replica worse than having nothing?

This î, I would like that they do what they did with karts or the GT3 F1 cars creating their own fantasy cars, like the other ones that already exist, simulating F1, GP2, Formula Renault, BMW, Ford and F3

Agree 100%. By playing a game instead of driving for real, we are in effect already saying we'd rather have a replica than nothing ;)

Yes, a mix of vintage & new F1 cars, Indy cars, Formula Ford, and Formula 2000, even if small, would be better than nothing and if anything, quite pleasing.

 nice picture, that's the only open wheeled car I need in the next GT :P

It looks as if the polls are overwhelmingly in favor of bringing more open-wheeled cars to GT6, which makes me very happy to see.

You listening, PD?

As well as the FGT, why not bring back the Polyphony 001 and 002 race cars from GT3?

I have both these cars (albeit in different colours), and they are both FANTASTIC to drive. PD is making a very huge mistake if these are not included in the game

Marmon Wasp, it won the First Indianapolis 500 in 1911. :D:tup:

Formula Fords would make a great addition to the GT franchise.
They provide close racing and are fairly quick.
They would have to run in their own class though.

Agreed. I've been saying this for a long time. They need low end ow's, mid, and then F1s. There are so many to choose from. I'd also like to see the Skip Barber 2000s and the Formula Mazda's, just like in iracing. that would be cool. Low grip open wheeled cars ARE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

I never played GT3, so I didn't even know that those existed! But they look awesome. I think many of us would be satisfied if PD put a nice mix of original open wheelers if the official formulas were out of the question.

However, I wouldn't see a lot of the junior formulas (Ford, BMW, Renault) being a licensing issue because PD already puts a lot of road cars from these brands in their games, so what's stopping them from throwing some of the respective brands formula cars in?

I'm guessing those screenshots are from the PAL version of GT3

In the NTSC version of GT3 they were named something like 94/S (1994 Senna) or 89/M (1989 Mansell). Im guessing that was too close to the real deal so they changed the name

At the very least I'd like to see more fictional openwheel cars from PD

Formula 100 - 225 HP 4 Cylinder 7,000 RPM / 650 KGs - 50/50 Downforce

Formula 200 - 450 HP HP V6 10,000 RPM / 600 KGs 125/125 Downforce

Formula GT - 800 HP V10 16,000 RPM / 550 KGs / 150/200 Downforce

Nice. Similar to how PD has a couple different types of karts.

A selection like this + a livery editor would really do a lot for the game. It allows people to replicate the real-world open wheel cars they like, establishes clear classes for racing, and also frees up time to include more unique cars, open wheel or not.

For example, I'd rather have this selection plus a couple Caterhams & Atoms than have PD say 'Well, we have to do a Ferrari, then a McLaren, then a Renault, and a Lotus...whew, that was just a few cars for an F1 classification. Where's all the time gone??' and leave it at that.

Would love to see more open wheel cars.
I hope PD put more fictional Formula cars in GT6 and from all eras too.
Maybe even being able to make up your own F1 car with your own team and custom livery.
Trying to licence official F1 cars is to expensive so I think fictional cars is the way forward.

From my GT3 garage (skip to 0:43):

I would guess the PAL version's Polyphony 001 was equivalent to the V6 cars (F6**) and the Polyphony 002 was the V10 (F0**) cars.

I also made videos of me driving one of these around Tokyo 246, and another of the game demo of these cars racing around Seattle.... will post here if people desire.

PD are serious trollz. Why in the world they removed that?
Their common sense is backwards.

And the menu, how quick it was.. when GT was still GT
why o why.

And yes, post more videos please.

Im hoping for some classic f1, putting at least one car from each decade. They have the ferrari licence which is perfect because its the only team present through out f1s history. test drive ferrari did it without f1 licence. Also project C.A.R.S has lotus and BMW williams coming so there are loopholes.

open wheelers and convertibles are quite rare in games, so adding them in GT6 would be a selling point.

Great point. At least on the console side they're pretty rare. I think it's extremely important for any sim to have variety. The best type of variety is hitting all ends of the racing spectrum from heavy beast luxury cars and trucks to prototypes, supercars, sports cars, rally cars/trucks, and touring cars, all the way to open wheeler and lightweight track day cars (caterham, radical). GT5 does at least cover those bases a bit but it could really use more open wheelers and track day lightweights. My most desired cars besides a premium veyron ss and radical SR8 would be some open wheelers

Open wheelers are extremely useful for racing and great for learning how to drive as well.

Cool, here's the only one I had saved, glad it's the F094/S :)...

And two game demo laps of these cars around Seattle, edited together...

Makes me want to pull out my old DFP, PS2, and do a few more, particularly at the old Rome circuit...

WHY PD. Why take those beauties out of the game?

I heard about another GT forum where people were always asking for B-Spec seasonal events, and that is the forum PD see, why don't we find it, register, and spam this?

Agreed! :sly:

But I saw a picture of Kaz holding a GTP shirt, there has to be some chance that PD is checking up on these forums! :gtpflag:

I voted yes, because anyone who doesn't want a larger variety of cars in Gran Turismo needs to reassess why they play the game. :D

GT5 has karts, and F1. There's nothing in between that. PD even did a livery design for a Formula Nippon team back in 2005 or 2006. I was surprised PD didn't try to get the cars added to the game.

Personally, I think a good assortment of open wheel cars would include:

Karts
Formula Ford
F3
GP2/Formula Nippon (these are pretty close in speeds from what I understand)
Indycar
F1

I'd prefer if PD could get their modelling on some older vehicles that might not be under FIA control, if it's possible. We know Ferrari is open since they retain rights to all of their cars. McLaren seems to have the same rights with their cars as well, judging by SimRacway adding tons of McLaren's race cars to their game. Sauber and Williams have had their cars in other games as well, but I'm not sure how the FIA handles all the teams outside of Ferrari.

Dear Polyphony Digital

Please, listen to what FormulaKimball and ZedMan1996 is saying. We want the GT3 F1 cars and more F1 cars in that style (we know they are F1's but they are "Burnout-inated", they are basically put together of 2 or 3 real F1s, can therefore not be considered a specific car and are therefore fictional)

If only they had made a F657/F, F867/C and F878/A as well...

Sigh. :indiff:

I don't see what was wrong with the older fictional F1 cars. They were replaced by the Formula GT which was fictional also. Weird. The 80's turbo F1s were some of the most fun cars in GT3 for me. The sound wasn't that bad either.

Maserati 250F, Lotus 49 and Lotus 79.
Good choices.
