I see your James Stewart and raise you:

I don't know. Landing on your head with a bike on top of ya, or launching 30 feet in the air and landing on my feet on nice soft grass/dirt...I think I'd choose the later. You tell that Stewart had issues after his crash...Reed was fine. I think Reed wins for style, but Stewart wins for pain and hospital visits.

Yeah forever he's been taking risks

Every motocross racer does. But he's been taking stupid risks he doesn't need to take. The only rider that I think was competition to him was RV. So he could have calmed down.

Umm...I don't think "benevolent" is the right word there. *hands you a dictionary and thesaurus* Merry Christmas.

Ah the stupid spell check on my phone. I didn't catch it. Sorry I'll fix it.

This happened during the Italian Rally 2008, after a Super Special Stage. I better not be Petter at that time

That picture to me, looks like the Global GT guy tried to cut off he Datsun going into the corner and it ended bad for both parties. The whole "too many guys going for the same space on the track" thing. Never works.

I'll always remember watching the RDP Welsh Tarmac rally at Epynt. Right in front of me, Talbot Sunbeam (if I remember correctly) driver Darren Pool went over a jump and landed awkwardly, and rolled the car many times and higher than I've seen a rally car in the air! Worst rally crash I've seen to date! I think it's on YouTube, but I couldn't find it :/
Also McNish 2011 le mans crash. That was horrific!

I love that save from Kobayashi in the second video. That, he must have not expected that to happen especially when going over 200kmh on the main straight. Still, a fantastic effort to save the car without giving a harm to Trulli.

Rally drivers > F1 drivers.

Motocross Riders>MotoGP Drivers>Rally Drivers>F1 Drivers>NASCAR Drivers

Don't know why but I felt like adding those three... And of course there's more to add but I didn't.

Bringing bikers in to the equation is just bringing in a different element of control. Not really a valid comparison in any sense, imo.

I think the skill it requires is more physical, not saying that car drivers have no talent, but I think riders have a bit more talent. But Ya it really is different. I just felt like adding it for some reason.

I wouldn't really compare any of them. Watching Pastrana or Rossi is just as exciting as watching Vettel or Loeb IMO. They are all very talanted and also very different.

Yes. Very true. I think it all depends on what you watch, or other things. For example, I side dirt bikes and I know how challenging it is. I don't race cars so I'm not exactly sure.

Best. Save. Ever. I don't know how he managed to get the car pointed down the other road. Definitely a WTF moment...even for Collin and his co-driver. I do love how calm and collected Collin is though. He has an expression on his face like it's just another sunday drive until the spin. You can almost hear him just humming to himself.

Peter Dumbreck's unfortunate one-two punch of shame at the 2010 Le Mans. After his minor crash at the Indianapolis corner (mentioned somewhere else in this thread), he crashes into an LMP--at the Porsche curves, in the same exact lap!

That's what happened to that Spyker. He ended up finishing what...5th in class....of course...there were only 5 cars left in the class at the end, but at least he finished. Can't wait to see Spyker's new car at the 2012 LeMans.

This is a pic of Ricardo Zonta testing the BAR at Silverstone in 2000: (no video Im afraid)

This unfortunate chap, Gualter Salles, races in the Brazilian Stock Car series, he got tapped, went across grass, hit a bump rolled and ended landing at the bottom of a spectator tunnel in the infield, fortunatly no one was hurt.

And finally possibly one of the scariest rally incidents for Roman Kresta at the Monte Carlo Rally:
